I should add here that ever since I made that call, they've gone back to loading it at 10 pm like clockwork! It almost makes me think the call made a difference. Like maybe Hulu needed a complaint to take to ABC? Well, I wanted Diane to live, so I was satisfied there. TJ & Willow is very fine! Well, for your sake then I'm glad you have it. I cannot stand either Cody Bell or Dex! LOL Yes and yes, yes, and one more yes for good measure. Laura & Martin have both been gone too long! And, has Cyrus had some sort of prison "road to Damascus experience"? And I cannot say enough good about Valentin & Anna making love. I could sing the phrase "More, More, More" by the Andrea True Collection!

The only part of it that made sense to me was Allie getting it in her head that her beloved Chanel was missing something, was doing without something & that she had the power to see that Chanel got that. If not that, then I just fall back on thinking that they are writing the both of them against type, out of character, and back to the first week of Alex when his entire introduction seemed to be blatant straight male fantasy. To me, these are the choices. What would have been great would've been for Allie to make the offer & Chanel to decline. If someone's gonna be pregnant it better be Alex, having an hysterical pregnancy! There's only so much they can put on the backs of these two girls!

Okay, not Pete, okay. I thought maybe Tom King. Mitch did have good stuff, some being Matt's father, with "air beats" Matt and then well on down the line he was a good groom & husband for Felicia. That about face has always made me wonder about him. Just last year I re-read every weekly recap at AWHP from his entrance onward trying to find what would have motivated him to turn away from Janice & toward Rachel. I finished as confused as I began.

Oh, NO. Not Willie!! Such a voice & he was such a good boy, good man, fellow, Georgia will miss him. I really thought that he'd have a career. Someone said it was a car accident?!! RIP Willie, may angels guide you to your new home, in heaven.

Disclaimer: I stuck it out with AW till the bitter end so my bias should always be noted. When the Dobsons were finished at SB they wanted to go write for AW. P&G wanted the same. NBC blocked it. That's not bad luck. That's either wanting the 2 pm slot for something else or having some other rationale for wanting AW to fail. Or maybe just plain terrible decision-making. The way they changed leadership, so many EPs & so many HWs, I don't think that can be placed at luck's door either.

Hate to hear that! Well, that's a shame because she is a joy to watch when she suits the role. At GL her Dinah was as good as any originating Dinah & when she was at OLTL she was younger & maturing helped her but she was good there, too.

Yabbut, it is true that they've written it that the women did not want the men to tell the kids! It's like pod writing, when you don't let these people know what is happening with those people. Christopher Goutman made an art of it at the end of ATWT. I think Ron must've studied it!

Now, am I right in thinking that your tongue is stuck as far in your cheek as it will go?!! 🤣🤣 Personally I just thought it was good that she got it made. And, I certainly never thought of NBC as a network that went out of its way to support its people or its shows.

They really need to draw her attention to that! But, the way they've written it the adults have kept the 2nd & 3rd generations completely in the dark! Seems very wrong to me.

There was a time when NBC was very high on AW & down on DOOL. But, later, NBC actively tried to get rid of and/or to kill AW! P&G had to battle them at some points along the way. I think after they decided they liked DOOL that they made efforts to support them. They started out very high on GEN but they had personnel changes & the new people didn't get what it was even & they canceled it when technically it had had another full year to its contract.

Mitch was such an odd character. He came on with nothing but a mandate to help Janice Frame do her worst to Mac, which ended up poisoning him & almost ending his life. So, there you had Janice & Mitch bad guys, as written I believe by Pete. And, then, I think there was a change of writers, and Mitch did an abrupt about face & suddenly helped Rachel save Mac's life. And, everything about Mac was weakened because of his vulnerability to Janice. Crazy time. And, an odd reason to do a remote!

I do not know the answer to that.

Okay, I don't really have an opinion on NBC & primetime soaps. I was really speaking of day part. When I think about primetime soaps I think I usually think about CBS being good to them.

Gina, Christie, Sarah Joy, Tamara Braun, Eden Riegel, ... there could have been many possibles.

Is it the prevailing opinion that NBC hates soaps? I don't think I've ever heard that. They sure did their fair share of starting new ones if they hated them all along!

Alex to Stephanie, No, I am saying you are the biggest hypocrite I know. You gave me this whole song & dance about how we couldn't work together & do even as much as have a light lunch together! But you've hired someone new to work for you & slept with him on the first night! That's how I'm saying you are such a big hypocrite! All your rules don't all apply equally to the same person, I see. Why didn't you just tell me you're not into me instead of making up something about the job and sexual harassment?! Sleeping with the new guy that you just met, really. At the DiMera mansion, Johnny opens the door to, who are you? I am Wendy Chin. Who are you? I am Johnny DiMera. Wendy then says she is looking for Stefan DiMera. Johnny says she has missed him & that he just left so it will likely be awhile before he returns. Stefan, faced with Gabi in the flesh, has a kind of an interior flashback: he imagines saying that he cares for her. He has a quizziczl look on his face. They sent him to HR to look for Li. Li tells the Head of Security that that is Wendy Chin & she should be detained & then moved off & away from the offices. Li says to Stefan that he will Li called Wendy a conniving little bitch. With disloyalty like that in the company we may have to clean house. There's more going on here than meets the eye, some canoodlng & canoeing & ultimately there is sexual harassment charges being made. This is my sister Wendy Chin & she is head of IT for DeMira working out of Fairbanks, Alaska. That's where she should be now! Paulina & Chanel sit back down with the folder on the table between them. Wendy is concerned that there might be other blackmmail attempts being made in the future. I took care of plenty while you were away last ight. EJ announces to the room that they've received a credible threat but that Li's & Wendy's father is the Chairman of the Board & he will lock this one down & go onto check for mutinies at other DiMera sites. EJ is only waiting for the proxy and the documents. Then they will call a meeting to hold a vote & since we will have the votes lined up we will celebrate its success! Stefan turned to Gabi & said, in his meanest tone, clean out your desk! Wendy speaks up & says … but no one is paying her any attention. Her plan is not working out so well. Back at Steve & Kayla's, well you're not going to lie this once you hear but last night there was no person sleeping with any other person here or anywhere. You might notice that we have on different clothes than we did last night. Alex says that he misunderstood what he is sure he saw last night. Now he sees that they did not sleep together last night & he will just go like the jackass he is. Chanel is saying that she should have taken care of this when it happened. But, at the time it appeared that paying some hush money & it being in college & a stupid mistake that it would go away & it has been gone all this time. Is it now under control? Paulina said that Sloan had given her 24 hours & there was a settlement offer, which was basically extorting them. Gabi tried to explain to Stefan that she can tell that something is triggering memories in him & she thinks it is when he looks into her eyes. Paulina tells Sloan to take it up with Stephanie & to get out of her office. Chanel again says she is sorry. Alex says so I've been a jackass. They told me about your mother & how sick she is, I hope that she gets better soon. Alex says, So, you are not into me & you have found someone else you might be into & I'm a big boy & I can accept that. And, then Alex leaves. Wendy is trying to hack into the local DiMera server. As the IT head out of Fairbanks Alaska she should be able to do this. Johnny wants to know how she ended up there in the first place. She explained that it would'nt be right for the baby sister to show up the #1 son. Wendy tells Johnny that she had tried more usual ways to get transferred to DiMera Headquarters here. Johnny told her that it was a snake pit, that who was CEO changed all the time & that it was a toxic environment. Stefan shouted at Gabi again that he would hold her accountable for having his heart taken out of him & given to Julie! Gabi wants to know where Rolf is. Come to think of it everyone wants to know where Rolf is. And, no one has seen him. (to be continued) Paulina says she is so sorry that Chanel had worked so hard to keep this covered up. Chanel began, my secret, .. Paulina interrupted saying she would just drop out of the race. Chanel is very upset by this idea. Wendy says that Dr. Rolf brainwashed Stefan to make him hate Gabi. EJ says Li has no chance. Li says his father is the Chairman of the Board & he won't allow anyone to throw him off the property. Li then make a surprising offer, he says he will cut ties with Gabi. EJ says he still will not tell anyone where Rolf is. Gabi says that she can tell that he really still loves her. That the truth of the matter is that his feelings really haven't changed. This infuriates him. Chanel if we make this payment they will just be back for more over & over until they bleed us dry, so Paulina is going to call Sloane & arrange a meeting. Here is our settlement offer. Johnny do not say anything to your father about thisl. Wendy & Johnny agree to work as a team & they shake on it.

Well, just me, I think it was a big deal because I think anything that is new, never been done, is exactly that, a big deal. I don't think any US soap has ever dramatized a threesome before. And in addition to being the first, they did it well. Now I could nit pick it to death, but I'm not going to. Now I am very interested in seeing how the show plays out the time after. I'd like to see good story. Bring it on!

By that time NBC's affiliates had come to be called "renegades" because they often did whatever they pleased. NBC's method of dealing with this was to try to be nice to them. For example, they let the affiliates decide which soap to do, out of 4, and they chose BEACH! So, giving them an option 12 or 3 would've worked right in there.

Yeah, know what you mean and I bet that they did divide daytime and primetime. And, yeah, Bill Cosby is a perfect example of how one's legacy can be destroyed by bad acts!

Shocking! I had no idea. I pay zero attention to the horror genre. Amazed is the right word & you've already used it! Mikey's gonna be in the show. Wow.

I think Caitlin was pretty well accepted as a good young adult actor with some chops to show for her efforts! She mixed well with her age & peer group & then she did fine with her job as Doris's daughter. GL casting seemed to place good choices in the young adult group.

True. I kinda like Alex but there's so many actors who would've loved a crack at the character. I'm not sure how one would tell if an Alex Kiriakis is needed!

I have no idea about Love of Life. I only know that everywhere else Gloria Monty is listed as the director of 3 soaps ONLY : THE FIRST HUNDRED YEARS, a failure, THE SECRET STORM, for 15 years, and BRIGHT PROMISE, another failure. She is listed as the director of unnamed TV movies. Then she is listed as the Executive Producer of GENERAL HOSPITAL. Looking now at Schemering, at LOVE OF LIFE, there is only one director named that is a feminine name: Heather H. Hill.
