I had wondered about that & had lost track! I would be glad to ignore you if you would return the favor. But, don't tell lies & inaccuracies about me or what I post. We can agree to disagree & that would be great. And, listen, you can set it up to literally ignore me so you won't be bothered.

Here is that metric, today's for yesterday's shows. This metric goes with that chart. Maggie, I agree 100%. Sami is in Italy. Sydney is with her. No town named just Italy. 🙄 Oh, yeah, the obit sucked eggs.

Days: February 2023 Discussion Thread
Sami, all there was, was someone talked to her on the phone & she was trying everything in her power to get to Salem. Carrie, not a single mention & not in the obit. Shawn, completely missing from the show. People seemed to think that Anna & Marlena long ago bonded as co-mothers of Carrie & people seemed to be touched. Bonnie was writing something to say & that is ridiculous, she's not Adrienne! At TelevisionStats.com there is Metrics of fan engagement. It is all about the online presence of shows. GH is #1 soap. DOOL and Y&R go back & forth as #2 & #3. For a long time DOOL was peacock's #1 show on this metric but for the last 2 weeks have been #3. Peacock is out of 27 shows. This Metric is not as good as Neilsens. Most Popular Show Online (out of 1706 shows) GH #50, DOOL #199 and Y&R #185. Best Rank in the last 12 mos. GH #15, DOOL #24 and Y&R #81. Y&R definitely got a bump up with the Tracy Bregman special days. Here's a graph from this metric.

I'm sure you realize that that method would be more work & really good people would be required to curate the storylines, or family histories, or chapters/books. Daily episodes would just require digitizing & cataloging. However, I think it might appeal as a more meaningful product from a marketing POV which might definitely count!

Yes, I had never thought of this before, but since you brought it up, I believe Pete could've written it & I am sure Brent could've played it. I used to know a fan who was a personal friend of Brent's. She had cocktails with him on his patio balcony weekly & sometimes they'd have outings. She sat with his family at the funeral & from the stories she told, in many ways he was just a regular fella! Plus acting chops. She still grieves for him, as you might imagine or do if you've lost a really close friend.

Yep, there you go. He has begun publishing one of her early days scripts in a backwards countdown, each day she's on. People have talked about changing their avatars to a picture of Deidre when we get close. People are already starting to change their banner pics in profile to Deidre pictures. Some very nice Day of Days being used or the new "Charlie's Angels" of the 3 of them, in white. I won't have competition as I will use one of two that are Roman & Marlena. I'm something of a dinosaur that way, although I count myself a fan now of J&M, Jarlena, etc. She'll finally be back on tomorrow. Unforgivable gap. The show still is screwed up on pacing. But, you're watching, so you know that! Sorry.

Oh, yeah, last week someone posted on #SoapTwitter that we had just had a 50 min. day. We thought it was a 47 min. day. There was no dialog about difference. OH! Okay, the notation of DHEpi# are counting Deidre's Days as she approaches 5,000th epi. Jason tells me that he thinks it will fall in March, maybe April, impossible to really extrapolate. We go by him for what Epi she's on. I emailed the google doodle submission point to "nominate" Deidre's 500th episode for a Google Doodle that day. Typo: 5000th

Yes, I know Jason is keeping the canonical list. As always. This is just something I keep myself & it didn't seem harmful to share it. Thnx!

Of course, Wally was written in the Cass-Felicia-Wally highjinks. Remember Felicia driving the truck, out of control, flying down the hill, she & Wally screaming, headed straight for ... Tall Boys, I believe. But, then he was written very human, too. Remember he slept on the floor across Felicia's threshold one night because of some fear. I think Lemay would have written more of the latter & less of the former.

This is a document I began in Nov. & just keep adding to. 11-20 Changes: (1) Episodes show long closing credis like they used to BITD. (2) We had one short day, 32 min. where if that had been broadcast on NBC they'd have had to add something to it in Edit to make it long enough because NBC's tolerances were very strict & Peacock's are much more relaxed. (3) We have now had some statistics on Peacock. (Nov. 12 was #1 "engagement", Nov. 14 also #1, Nov. 16 #2 Nov. 18 @2#) According to TelevisionStats.com) (4) Longer episodes which means they've been editing & adding in scenes that would have been "too long" for NBC. Examples from last week: Mon. 41 min. Tues. 38 min. Wed. 40 min. Th. 37 min. Fri. 36 min. We typically had 36-37 for NBC. Jan. '23 half & half shows, up to 47 min. long, green screen, new cameras Feb. 1st or 2nd confirmed 100% Peacock-produced And, I watch the show & I have seen changes & could speak to specifics.

Days: February 2023 Discussion Thread
It was said that the show was 6 months out, meaning 6 months of show in the can, taped. I do not know if that meant ready for post or ready. It was also said that there was another month written, meaning written & vetted & changes made from notes if given. 6 months is February. That said, I do not know if we have just changed over to 'written for' just that we have changed over to 100% Peacock-produced. For the past 3 weeks we've been having half & half shows. But it is likely that some of that half-Peacock was new writing. Even if it were only the extra minutes, we would have run out of "old". NBC was 36-37 min. For months we've had betw 31 min. and 47 min. Heavy on the 47.

Back from the dead - The good, the bad, & the ugly
Just last week was the anniversary of John C. Clarke's last day & I just sighed. I certainly understood his wanting to spend time with his family in a real retirement but dang he was missed.

And, Bonnie's PTSD was so funny to so many fans because she was kidnapped for a relatively short time & her trauma got days & days of coverage when Marlena's been kidnapped umpteen times and even lived through THE PIT and never had any trauma to work through after. But, as you say, it was a plot device.
