When Sheffer was HW at ATWT they had a year where they won for Show but got no nods for any thing else!!!! The presumption has never been that the people voting watch the other soaps. Heck, they had trouble getting people to commit to watching submissions/reels! But, the presumption is not that you're considering the daily show. Also, there's always the potential for weird unexpected things to come out of changes. Like one year it was a new thing that they were hosting viewings. Screening rooms are basically small theatre auditoriums. Arrive, find a seat, some waiting, someone makes some announcements maybe. They turn off the lights & show soap reels. After & in between some people talked to each other, which made some people mad. When what is more likely with humans in that setting for that to happen. How is it no one thought people might talk to each other? If it matters the viewing should be individuals at study/library cubicles, not in small auditoriums!

Yeah, a fair amount is said about it being the easiest soap to watch - only 18 minutes where it's easy to know what is happening because of an intentional choice to use repetitive story elements & even repetitive dialogue. Now one thing they did that I personally thought was very smart was to tie the pre-launch promotion & the launch in with Black History Month. If they'd decided to be coy, they could not have used that tie-in. (I am one who thinks the premiere was originally aimed at a Jan. date but was changed to Feb. because of Black History Month.) And, you think that would be credible? People would actually believe it was some kind of coincidence? I do not.

Beyond that, when RN played a bad guy on Y&R he didn't like living in LA plus was homesick for wife & young grandsons, etc. But, if the show was ready to seriously do a real recast Roman Brady, I have no doubt that one could be found who would be happy to be in LA & employed even at bargain basement prices. But, I mean, great idea, as RN would be so good in this role.

I am using this old family photo for my Easter greetings because it is an Easter egg hunt in the 1940s in rural deep south Mississippi. In the center is my mother & around her are all of these cousins. This picture was obviously staged. If it had not been, there wouldn't have been one person of her age with a whole bunch of much younger cousins. Of course at that time photography was quite a bit rarer than today. I really like this photo mostly because everyone seems so natural. Also for its age its held up pretty well. Anyway, HAPPY EASTER!
