I would submit to you that she doesn't need any more excuses, not when it comes to Bill. But, I am one fan who thinks Bill isn't done with Dani & also the reverse is so. Those two, IMO, are locked in some kind of toxic but irresistible vortex. I'm not saying we're going to have scifi. Just the personality kind of vortex. OH!!! Thanks. I don't do Y&R. I was finally warming up to Eva but today, that girl, what in the world was she thinking, crawling back to Mama saying she was under a lot of pressure. Pitiful. And, just what did she get for her trouble? Rebuffed, totally. Anastasia, she can go kick rocks. Who needs her & what was she wearing? I'm surprised to learn that some people did not have an appreciation of Dani & then Anita, right after, at Theodore's. I thought they were both right on the money & also sharp, witty. Ted, of course, is playing at being Impervious Man, which is very funny & he takes it one step further, making all these declarations of his intent to woo Nicole back & win her trust again. I find myself laughing so hard at him & at how he has totally misread his circumstances. He has zero chance but wow he has so much confidence. This I find to be so humorous, possibly unintentionally so. Edit to add: What does Alexander Dumas have to do with anything? And why are people seeming to be mad at him?

Well, being quite literal, she's not part of every single one. I mean we had no Carly for 3+ weeks recently. But, you're right that she is in most & I think there are 2 reasons. The character Carly is that important to the show & is connected to so many people. And, Carly as played by LW gets more fan engagement than anyone else. People love her. People hate her. People do not tend to be neutral toward her.

Some of this is just YMMV. For example, I couldn't be more positive about Dani. I believe she has avid fans like me, people like you who do not appreciate her & probably most people in the middle for varying reasons. I see a lot of people liking her BUT feeling she is one step forward & then two back. And, then I am not as enamored of Leslie/Dana/Sheila/Sherry/Anna/Etc. as some are. I think it's a good thing that there's a variety of opinions on specific characters! I picture this Venn diagram of us where as a whole we REALLY LIKE THE SHOW but like soap fans we don't agree about specifics. OH! I had an amazing encounter yesterday - a soap opera fan who hates the show. Turned out she was as racist as could be. UGH. Otherwise, I loved the reveal & last Thursday & yesterday. Specifically yesterday I loved Dani, Anita, Nicole & Mona.

I know! It's like second verse, here we go again! Agreed. Certainly there was concern maybe even fear at the highest levels for the very good reason that what they had was so economically successful, so of course this risk was scary but if anyone was brave she was. To me, that made no difference. The point stands whether Eva wants to be a Dupree or not. Anita was 110% on top of things. Also it's a logical inference that Eva might be interested in having a place in her supposedly real family. Frankly though I wonder if Eva knows how to feel ... yet. She could really be confused. That is a specific example where I would agree with those fans so I would be critical of the execs doing so. I frankly think that "caring" in this regard is not conducive to dialog. Basically you point out its very subjective nature. What is caring to one person might be callous disregard to another. I suggest it is a trap & we fell in it!

I believe Cecile was intentionally used for comedic elements maybe twice. I mean, start with her being royalty from where? Tanquir!!! LOL From the first moment it's a gag, isn't it? And, her kidnapping Cass? I mean does a serious character do that? Well, literally, if you go another way & it's horror, sure. And, what you describe, a food fight, yeah, it's going to be played for laughs. Not a problem. I can respect different POVs. Black & Stern is on Les Moonves' head. He knew their work including NO DAYTIME. He recommended them anyway. Thank god their tenure was brief. But, Moonves is CBS not P&G. At any rate we have a true dilemma because we see this time at AW so differently. Vive la difference!

Agree to disagree. I think they cared. I think at times fans underestimate both the creative types & the execs. Certainly there can be specific times & specific people when ego & hubris are huge issues. But, basically, and most of the time the people involved very much want things to work. I'm not saying you don't have your Brian Frons or even your JFPs & your Susan D. Lees. We know at the end Chris Goutman had lost his way.

Well, on that point, I am one fan, and I know I'm not alone in this, who thinks that it is possible to have a time or times on a show where the ratings do not reflect the show's popularity & I think that is because it is possible for the metric to be broken.

Denise played Susan Hunter. She was Julie Olsen's best friend until they fell out over, of all things, a boy, David Martin. First he was Julie's boyfriend but Tom & Alice, thinking he was too old for her, forbade them seeing each other. One night, upset by this, he got very drunk & he ran into Susan, who also was upset, from a fight with her parents & she was also very drunk, and, so, things happened, as they are wont to do. From that night of drunken sex Susan got pregnant, of course, since this is a soap. They all 3 decided that David & Susan would wed to give the child his name & then later, the plan was that they would divorce, but that never happened. Julie was pissed off, as you can imagine. The child was born & it was a boy, named Richard after Susan's father. One day David was supposed to be watching the infant but he looked away & poor baby Dickie fell off the swing & broke his neck. Every single time the camera would pan to that dam*ed swingset I would cry for poor little baby Dickie. Bill Bell swore he should never have killed that infant boy & he further swore he would never kill an infant again. Meanwhile here I am crying over that dam*ed swingset. Clearly this is a story I am never going to forget. Denise Alexander played Susan Hunter Martin & she went crazy & she shot & killed David Martin but Mickey Horton as her attorney, got her off on temporary insanity. Susan & Julie went from being best friends to the bitterest of enemies. GH, with a whole helluva lot of money got Denise to General Hospital on ABC, where she played Laura's mother, Lesley Webber. It was said at that time that she was the highest paid in daytime, ever. Then much later, NBC tempted her to go to ANOTHER WORLD where she played Marissa Lasalle, who later was revealed to actually be Mary McKinnon, wife to Vince, mother to MJ, Kathleen, Ben & aunt to Jake. This did not go on as long as it might have because Denise grew very tired of the commute from west coast to east & back. Denise was a particular favorite of mine & I am so sad that now she is gone.

And then she adds how much she misses Vern. And, don't we all?!! For the DAYS virgins among us, Vern was the newspaper editor & also father to Brian & to Tanner, Vern Scofield. Vern was a good friend to Jack, at a time when Jack didn't have many friends.
