I think it is strange that DAYS started 2 relationships & then ended them so quickly. Sofia was odd breaking up with Tate over such a little thing. Then Leo & Javi over a misunderstanding. What in heck has happened to romance in Salem?! One more thing what is wrong with Cat's hair?!!

I have this note on JFP, saying that there of course hundreds of things she's done wrong but 3 that she's done right. 1 is Zaslow. 2 is Jess Walton. What is 3? Oh, I know. 3 is that there was someone involved in Frankie's murder but that she wasn't going to name names. Then. on the Locher room she said, "It wasn't me, it was the writers." so there went 3. Left with only 2. Okay, I tried my best.

Invented the block vote to win Emmys. Way back at GH as Music Producer she did some really excellent musical montages. As a matter of fact, she may have invented those couple-centric romantic montages that would close out some shows. At DAYS, no, wait, she wasn't at DAYS. At AW, no, everything she did there was bad. At GL, no sorry. Okay, grudgingly, people talk about the blackout to this day. I guess that's it. I'm back. At Y&R apparently she went out of her way to talk to Jess Walton & create the right circumstances for her to return to the show. While she was EP at OLTL they allowed Michael Zaslow to act the rest of his life with some dignity. Now, it's not at all clear that she was the person behind doing this. But, at the very least, she didn't oppose it.

When Gail Kobe & Pam Long were at GL, Pam created Alexandra for Beverlee McKinsey. She happened to become available & she didn't want to go back to AW. That they could create this wonderful character just at that time was some kind of a boon both to the actress but also to the show. Alexandra, simply for years, was a very nice addition to the canvas & to the Spaulding family. Even later, when Marj played her & definitely when Joan Collins did, she continued to be a valuable addition to the family & the show. Personally, I am in thrall with Bev as Alex in the dinner parties she would throw. No, Lulu must've been incredibly confused & if she remembers Cyrus, who she did know, it wasn't as an uncle. He, of course, is lying to the admins there because we know Laura would not have put him on the visitor list. She specifically told him going forward to speak with her ahead of time before going to see Lulu. I was very bothered that alarms were not going off & people weren't rushing into Lulu's room. When she started moving around, all of those readouts, which are duplicated at the nurses station would all have been going crazy! One thing I am fascinated with is a magical time at OLTL. The players were Linda Gottlieb, Michael Malone & Josh Griffith. I've wondered if Linda Gottlieb didn't get enough credit. The thing is at no other time or place, including being back at OLTL, did Malone or JG repeat that soap opera magic. Malone was at AW for 6 months & he was awful, truly awful. JG, right now, is largely complained about. I'm sure there will be other comments.

But, this Drew doesn't know Jason. If he did, he never would have sent Ric to try to make a deal for Jason to keep his mouth shut. Jason would never speak about it, not because of Drew, but because of Michael. It was one thing for him to pay off Cody for his silence. Trying the same strategem on Jason was short-sighted at best.

Unbelievable how much I love "Fronsified" but even worse than McTavish's Unabortion tenure? That's really saying something but credible given Frons being the way he was.

Apparently NLG has said she'd love to play that exact storyline. Not a surprise.

I don't know if it was true or maybe just rumor, but 2 weeks ago I read a post that claimed he'd just signed a new contract. I was like Goldie Hawn in OVERBOARD, "Buh buh buh, buh ..." So, we'll hope it was just a stupid rumor on Twi/X.

For people interested in how Kirsten seems to be doing so much better probably you'd enjoy the podcast she did with Steve Burton & Bradford Anderson even though it's now about 6 months old. She talks about her health crisis when she had the very serious surgery & the time it seemed to take to completely recover from that, etc. And she talks about being a fiber artist. She knits & crochets & is very original & creative with it & she considers it part of her self-care & a cognitive, meditative exercise. She talks about one floor-length cardigan she knitted for Becky H where she combined 28 different yarns to make it the way she was seeing it in her head. Enough from me, here's the link.

Last year an unknown new poster posted some of that story of one week in particular of DAYS. Stupidly I did not download it when it was there & yes, you guessed it, all of that new poster's uploads were taken down.

I would suggest that this is an excellent topic/thread. I would further suggest that the most egregious thing listed here is the Unabortion, the second most egregious is Todd at OLTL because it wasn't just a rape, it was a gang rape & that leads us to #3 which is the Seduction relabeling of a rape. The soap journo Lynda Hirsch told me that Pat Falken Smith was herself very uncomfortable with it as a stratagem or rationale for pursuing Romantic Luke & Laura. She went along with it because it was her job to do so. She was very aware of being the single parent of a teen daughter knowing that her income was not just an issue for her alone. What she described was a situation where everyone was in favor of the romance, there was just this very thorny problem of the violent rape at the disco. I think we can all imagine that. We know of Genie's discomfort. We know of Lesley Charleson's objection to it. There very well may have been others. Personally I am satisfied with the way GH chose to deal with it, even though it was many years after the fact. And, I admire the job Michele Val Jean did in writing the story when they revisited it.

Not as bad as I thought. Bill & Laura wed 10-22-74, so the fall before I was thinking & within the timeframe for Bill Bell to have written it, although I'm not sure if that was when he wrote the long story, the thrust & made all the big decisions while PFS batted relief. Still it would have been his decision.

I believe this is gonna come right down to the wire because they got married in 1975 & that was Bill Bell's last year as HW. So, I'm sorry I don't know conclusively without month & day. Off to look it up.

Totally agree with this but there's one slight problem. Douglas Marland ONLY left because someone decided to call the rape a "seduction" so if they had not done that & fixed it some other way, he would still be there with PFS second chair. Just imagine how great that would have been!

Something about this is nagging at me. I think that she did pitch AMC, I think to NBC, which seems logical since she was in the process of saving Another World from early cancelation. But, to be sure is going to require looking things up. If I recall the whole schmiel correctly at this point the story says she put it in a drawer - unless it was in a box? And, wasn't the reason she then wrote OLTL because ABC asked her to write it?

Going all the way back to the LnL rape ... I ran upon this, today. I doubt I would tolerate Glo at all plus I am NOT an LnL fan, You can't be iconic if you begin with rape. I like to say that if Ron Carlivati had been writing for Glo he'd have killed off Luke & brought back Geary as a guy named Myron, with a sweater vest, pocket protector, glasses & introduced him to Laura! Much better solution to the rape.

@titan1978Sorry for your loss. When my mother died, even though I was fully grown, I suddenly felt little & alone, almost as if it made me an orphan. I hope you can look at your grief & tell it to go to h*ll. About Alexis, I thought her writing the first 2 days after Sam died, was a gift from the writers & they aren't giving out many presents. Her reacting to Sam's body being cold, asking for the blanket, even getting into bed with her, all of that was more than decent writing. But, it's funny, it was stage directions, action, not words. I guess we have to call those days Halloween-1 & Halloween-2.

Her book was excellent despite many errors but it was also weird because she didn't talk about GL or AW or Loving or really much at all about OLTL. Never before has any one thing been so Pine Valley-centric! All AMC all day long. If we hadn't known already where her heart lay, we found out then.
