  1. I'd completely forgotten that the Ball ended that way for Iris. I can't say she didn't get what she deserved but it sure is full of pathos, isn't it?
  2. That sounds like Ron. It's really a wonder that Peacock wanted DAYS after dealing with Ron & Alarr.
  3. So sad. The utter decimation of the NY soap scene is - and always will be - devastating to me. Edge of Night and Search for Tomorrow were already gone. Then Ryan's Hope & Loving went. Another World fell. And there were 4 giants left - ATWT & GL, AMC & OLTL & in succession, one by one, they all went. And then there were none. All of those actors, the staffs, the crews, the technicians. A bitter pill. What had once been so great, gone. LOL, the Manny fanbase wars that were so bad that the show took the couple completely off the air rather than try to deal with the unreasonable fans.
  4. Basically, most of the people working at GL at the end are not working in daytime at this time. That's just a bitter fact of life. It's true of most people in the New York soap scene at the end. Exceptions are Maura West, Van Hansis & Alexa Havins, I guess.
  5. I know that Wheeler did care about the show. Personally I did appreciate the writing during at least part of her time, although even the storylines that I loved, I had criticisms of. I thought that Otalia was a remarkable story, well-told, for the most part, although they didn't take it to the point that they should have. I don't know if that was P&G or at the show level. Of course, part of the problem with the story was complicated by Jessica Leccia's RL pregnancy & childbirth. That really caused a challenge with the timing of the story. And, even though Wheeler cared, and meant well, and I agree that there's no way her woeful budget was her doing, her lack of experience was another impediment, a rather large one. She, of course, was not hardly the only PTB that P&G put in place without them being as experienced as they needed to be. Ultimately, though, the fans & the show suffered because of P&G's management decisions.
  6. Okay, yes, by then, maybe. I was speaking of now, or very soon, which as I said, I do not see happening. But maybe 6 months from now. Sure, that would be great. Vinnie of Suds & Square Circle Media podcast is going to try to get Jacqueline Grace Lopez back again for their Monday night podcast after the holidays.
  7. I'd love to have Blaze return from a successful tour but I cannot see it happening any time soon. Can you?
  8. What do you mean by this? Apparently there's something stupid Ron did that I don't know about! Inquiring minds want to know! 😧😵😮🙃🤣😉
  9. That is such an excellent point! I had forgotten that. Of course. Makes all kind of sense. Thanks!
  10. I suppose it's human nature to take for granted those who you should really treasure! Jerry was one who should have been the prize in the crown. Instead he was taken for granted. They thought good ole Jer he will be with us to the very end. What a shock! When he up & left. Served them right for being stupid. Unforutnately, that meant the fans paid the ultimate price.
  11. IDK why some people persist in asking this question, seemingly every day. There is just nothing in the way they are telling this story that would make me think he is not who he says he is. What is the deal? I don't get it. I can't remember either. All I remember is that awful drag show. I'm not saying that drag itself is awful. I've seen some really beautiful remarkable drag. But that was not one of them.
  12. I had another thought. Several days after they put that group of vets on recurring, they called Jerry to book him for several upcoming dates & they were shocked that he was unavailable because Mark Derwin had recommended him to OLTL & they wisely snapped him up.
  13. Yes, it was Wheeler who moved Jerry from contract to recurring. At that time they did that with several veterans. But, it was a huge mistake! She could've done it with Frank, or Bradley, just to name two.
  14. Excellent, I actually thought that might be your reply.
  15. I think you do Wheeler an injustice when you don't hold Conboy & Weston to account. Surely their tenure was as damaging if not moreso than anyone before them. As far as I can tell literally everything they did was wrong, including spending money the show could ill afford. I can't think of even one storyline that was good. From that sock puppet to the baseball diamond to Maryanne Carruthers & the rewriting of 5 male veterans' history. And, not rewriting in a complimentary way, not at all. If you ask me, they were responsible for at a minimum 5 nails in the coffin. That is, if we begin counting nails with JFP. And, continue, of course, till the bitter end. I'm not saying that there weren't problems with Ellen Wheeler's tenure, not at all, but I am saying she didn't begin it.
  16. No, he's not on the show. The thing is, though, they've talked about him like this, off & on, for about a year. So far, no show!
  17. A lovely idea but a total impossibility. If only there were some private individual with a vault chock full of kinescopes.
  18. All true. And, she was also a fabulous drummer.
  19. I'm weak in the knees regularly for Karen's voice.
  20. We're approaching the Endiversary of my favorite short-lived primetime soap, PAPER DOLLS, with Morgan Fairchlld, Roscoe Born, Brenda Vaccaro (sp?) & introducing Terri (sp?) Ferrell & Nicolette Sheridan. Amazingly it has 4 different opening themes. One for the TV movie, one for the show pilot, one for the show itself & then a variation on that one that they changed to midway through. I have them all & all episodes on my usual video hosting site.
  21. Arguably we have more of DAYS 1965 & 1966 than we do many other soaps' first two years. However, since supposedly DAYS never wiped & only lost one year to a warehouse fire, then, you'd think there would be even more episodes floating around.
  22. I kinda love this. It explains so much. We should all adopt this attitude. We spend way too much time on hating Sonny. We could spend that time on other things. Why didn't I think of this? All this time I've been hating on him.
