BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread
I want to apologize to you in case I offended you. I was just joking, teasing you, just playing. It's funny. Just last week I said that I never did a thing & someone, also joking, pointed out to me that I had just done it. We both laughed about it. You're the boss. I hear & understand you.

This will not be your typical post. In Windows 11 is it possible to cut off ALL Notifications? If so, how do I do it?

You said you never did it & then you turned around & described how you did it. You are a contradiction of terms. But, don't feel bad, at least it's not an oxymoron. Dodged that bullet. And, I've told MVJ that her first mentor & employer, Jeri Taylor, RIP, is looking down on her & is about to bust open with pride for her.

BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
Thanks so much. I need to experiment because I'm going to change my plan & get a refund, if so. I just don't understand it because it worked, as promised, for the last 2 Daytime Emmys, so why is this different? Yes & no. But, wait, I have a CBS feed in my Paramount+ w/S account? But, anyway, if it's there & I can access, once it's up it stays up, right? Like if I can't watch it till 4 eastern, it will continue to be accessible to me? I'm really not stupid. I'm thrown because something apparently exists that I had no knowledge of!! Edit to Add: So if I select Live TV it's just whatever is on ATM & I don't see a way to go back to an earlier time. Right? If so, this doesn't help me at all.

BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread
I think this is, so far at least, unquestionably true, obvious, delightful, scary & a product of getting to do it from scratch, IOW being the new kid on the block but also a great many excellent decisions being made!! I wouldn't say it's a question of amateurish versus professionalism. Instead I'd say DAYS looks - and is - produced fast & cheap & we know why. GH is produced fast & sloppy & shallow & we have theories why. I'm not a regular viewer of either B&B or Y&R but there have been times in the past year when I watched & both seem like they're being written by some experiment that has failed but no one has turned the lights out yet. Again, theories. They are all really old US organizations so they have lots of inherited problems & baggage. 1. We know they opted to save a great deal of money by choosing Atlanta. 2. Great question! So, I watch in a live group via zoom & we, a dozen of us watch GH, talk about it & then half the group leaves & the remaining half dozen watch BTG & talk about it. But, we've already decided we're having an extra rewatch/binge of the whole week, this weekend!!!! It's too much trouble to change the name of the room from Daily Jarly Zoom but I give it subtitles in the chat some, like, today, Daily Jarly Zoom Investigates the Fairmont Crest. (Yes, we did & I need a much better graphic.) BTW, this is by far the most enjoyable way of watching soaps that I have ever experienced. I would highly recommend to any close-knit friends who share a soap love.

I'm not at all convinced there's going to be one. And, BTW, February sweeps are over. Who won the sweeps period? And, I'm wondering if the Nurses' Ball will be during May Sweeps. And, if so, will it be a Tribute to Monica? Okay, I don't hear the banjo, so what other picking is it that you mean?

Thank you for sharing your story! It was funny. The situation on the Coast was dire, of course, but Picayune sent everyone there to help out so we were even longer getting back on our feet!

BTG on Paramount+ with Showtime So, if you watch on this you are paying extra to get the show on the day of rather than the next day. However, the result is not 2 pm/live. I just got off the phone with Help/Support & today, S1E4, loaded at 5:20 Eastern & they indicated I could count on that time daily. It seems weird that it's not 2 pm/live. I did this for the Emmys & that was live. I feel like there's something basic about people's viewing habits & desires that they are fundamentally missing!

ALL: With BTG garnering so much attention, should the other networks jump on board the Daytime Train
At the level of non-soap fan name recognition both "Erica Kane" and moreso "Susan Lucci" punch that button, it's true. In general, I don't think rebooting a classic soap is something that is actually going to happen. The reason I think EON is maybe possible is because of the crime/mystery angle. I don't know what you mean by "clowning" on it, however it gets a great deal of criticism that I think is fair & it likely would not be a draw as strong as a vampire soap or other gothic or different/quirky venture. It's a real shame that Kindred: the Embraced didn't get the shot it deserved.

Why? DS or PC/Caleb-ish, okay or Twin Peaks but NO to PSSN.

Thank you so much for that backstory. I knew she briefly played Jack's daughter Lily but didn't know about young Bianca!!! Reading about Gellar's understandable reaction literally made me sob.

Here I am again with your daily required minimum of nitpick & technicalities! NBC had no power or authority to do anything to/with/for/about DAYS except renew, cancel or cut their budget yet again. Peacock & NBC are peer level entities of UNIVERSAL. Peacock had dealt successfully with DAYS in the Beyond Salem projects & were interested in more. DAYS was reciprocally interested in Peacock & the deal was struck. Obviously neither Sony nor Universal had objections. NBC figuring in at this point? Nope. I hope this helps rather than hinders. This idea that NBC gave the show to Peacock persists & is wrong.

I feel so so so good, and confident, because not only is MVJ an excellent, seasoned veteran writer but she's the first black to be in the position she is in & also the first soap HW to also be a Show Runner! When I see her name & the string of titles: Creator, Headwriter, Executive Producer and Show Runner, I am filled with joy. So many firsts & so well deserved! And, the icing she's also a woman.

Generations: She wrote the best catfight that ever existed. GH: First paired Kevin & Lucy as a couple. (But Labine created Siggy.) Wrote some remarkable Mary Mae stuff which has been previously discussed including clips. (But Labine also wrote some of that.) Guza gave her the revisitation of the Luke & Laura rape which she told using Liz's rape, Audrey's rape, the original rape & her own RL rape & this is pointed to most as her most remarkable work, I believe. Santa Barbara & B&B: Sorry, DK. Maybe someone does.
