I call those the "3-word voters." They don't look past the slogans: "Lock her up" "Build the wall" "Feel the bern" "Bern the witch" "Trump that bitch." and yes, I include "Hope and change." Her slogan? "Stronger Together"

It would be nice to have some conservative posters in this tread who could make intelligent fact based comments but the truth is there's very little about the current behavior of Republicans that any intelligent fact based person could defend. So we're stuck with these crackpots blathering on about Hillary, Obama, and Pelosi.

They'll still find a way to blame somebody else. I feel like only a truly catastrophic event could bring a lot of people to their senses. Not even losing their insurance because a lot of them just got that insurance but still voted to get id of it.

He is. If he weren't there wouldn't be lawyers hiring lawyers and Mueller brought on, I heard, 13 people just last week. Also, remember this story about how law firms turned down Trump's business because he doesn't pay and doesn't listen? The real news is in the seventh paragraph: "Others mentioned potential conflicts with clients of their firms, such as financial institutions that have already received subpoenas relating to potential money-laundering issues that are part of the investigation."

To be fair, it's entirely possible it wasn't about her religion. Given how many of these killers have a history of domestic violence, for all we know, he flirted with her and she said "no." That's more than enough to turn some men violent.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Between decisions in Virginia and North Carolina, courts seem to be signaling that they've had enough of this. Throw in Donnie's attacks on the judiciary and hopefully we'll get a favorable decision. Now we just need everyone to hang on until October.

I love knowing that he's miserable. It accelerates his decline.

Bernie endorsed Ossoff for two reasons... If Ossoff wins he'll take credit. Bernie and his supporters love to take credit for victories they had nothing to do with. If Ossoff loses he'll point to his disagreement on "issues." This is him trying to be relevant.

Seriously. The fact that this race is as tight as it is is unbelievable.

Bill Cosby
Exactly. Cosby's whole career was built on respectability politics. He no longer gets to be the elder statesman of comedy or the ultimate good negro. He will always be remembered as a serial rapist.

That's not it. Newt doesn't care about his wives. Never has, never will. He's scared. In some ways he seems even more scared that Donnie.

Newt is tripping so hard it's almost like *he's* the one under investigation. He's clearly shook about something.

You mean "Scalise" not "Scalia." Scalia is the one that Obama smothered with a pillow.

I have a friend who lives in GA6. From what she's told me, the ground game there is being run really well. So well it's driving her crazy. I had to remind her that this is what it's like for Ohio every four years (and anytime Sherrod Brown is on the ballot.) I think that no matter what this is going to be a tight race. I'm glad to hear you're helping out. Fingers crossed that it pays off! There's another special election that day in SC5 that hasn't gotten as much attention but I've been sending money because I really like what I've seen about the candidate: Archie Parnell.

That thing about state pardons is true. That's why these state cases are so important. Also, Trump can't just decide to pardon someone. A convicted criminal has to apply for a pardon and no one is eligible to even begin that process for five years. It's a process that involves more than just Donnie so there's no magic wand and even with a pardon the asset forfeiture sticks. https://www.justice.gov/pardon/frequently-asked-questions-concerning-executive-clemency

That's already happening. That was probably happening before Mueller was even announced. I keep going back to the raid of the Republican consulting firm in Annapolis. That was the result of chasing the money trail. It's not going to be senators that take this guy down, it's going to be accountants. Remember when they announced that Kushner was under investigation? That was because of his debt to the Russians. ETA: Wired magazine has done a really nice profile on the team being put together to take done Donnie. Seriously. These people will turn him upside down and shake the rubles from his pockets. You aren't going to hear a lot of these names bandied about on Sunday talk shows. That doesn't mean they are pulling every string of this mess apart.

Going after the money means they can get get to Donnie in ways that he's not protected from. The Repubs will never impeach and the law says a sitting President can't be charged with a crime but Trump is the only one with that protection. Money laundering and RICO can take down Ivanka, Jared, Bannon, Miller and everyone else around him. It's going to be like "The Wire." You start by turning the corner boys who don't have the money to afford good lawyers and work your way up. Donnie just keeps slandering law enforcement, the intelligence community and the judiciary. He's a wannabe mafia hood who doesn't have the sense to shut up.

A veto proof majority, too. 97-2? I assume there's some catch.

This kind of crackpottery was ALWAYS out there. My father worked with the space program. I can't tell you how many times he held his tongue when dealing with someone who thought the moon landing was faked. Unfortunately the internet has been an incubator for this kind of thing. People can create a whole world where their delusions are reflected back to them.

Same. The right wing is about to discover the uncomfortable truth that the gun manufacturers will happily sell weapons to left-wing crackpots as right-wing ones. They don't care if the bullet gets caught by Steve Scalise or Trayvon Martin. It's all about the $$$.

I hope/think it will be money laundering or racketeering. RICO means the government can seize his assets, including state governments. Even if the GOP in Congress doesn't care that doesn't stop Schneiderman in NY from being able to go after assets.

Thank you for saying this. People looking for a quick fix to this are fooling themselves. This is going to take years. And it's not going to be public Congressional hearings that get the job done. It's going to be the closed hearings. It's going to be law enforcement (and as a BLM "terrorist" trusting law enforcement is not something that comes easily to me) and the intelligence community. Even if I didn't trust the people in these jobs to be loyal to the country or Constitution, one thing I do trust is how they look out for their own. Donald attacked both groups. Comey called his remarks about the FBI "slander." Trump stood up in front of the memorial wall at the CIA and cracked jokes about his EC victory. These folks won't stop because IMO he made it personal.

Nothing was going to come out of this hearing except more Sessions perjury. But this mess with executive privilege is going to bite him with Mueller.

It sounds like Georgia's ground game is off the hook. People are putting signs on their front door that say "Don't knock. I already voted." I think the race will be a squeaker. I wish the race in SC5 was getting more attention. Archie Parnell is the type of candidate I like. He's a wonk. He proudly says that he could talk about the tax code for hours. At a time when candidates seem to live and die by three-word slogans, I like a candidate not afraid to tout their knowledge.
