  1. Here is the series description of "The Connors" from the tvline article that @Jcar03 posted: “After a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. This iconic family — Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and D.J. — grapples with parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging and in-laws in working-class America. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails.” I wonder who has the unexpected pregnancy. I hope it's not Harris. Maybe it's Becky. We did find out that she wanted to have children though her chances of doing that are lower due to her age. Maybe she finally gets pregnant. Or maybe it's actually Darlene again and it's the result from her sleeping with David when he came back to town.
  2. Maybe if you want to we can still stay in this thread and you can just change the title to something like Roseanne/The Connors Revivals thread. Since the shows are so closely related and we already have a lot of good discussion going on in this thread.
  3. Good for the cast and crew that they are getting another spin off. It sounds like they may kill Roseanne off. I could see them saying she died during surgery. In the season finale of the reboot she mentioned being afraid to die during the surgery. Her and Dan talked about her fears of this and talked a little about what would happen if something happened to one of them. I think it would be sad and poignant if that indeed ends up happening. Though, I don't know how they would explain her absence if she didn't die, especially with the rest of the cast returning.
  4. I would be fine with another Reboot centered around Darlene. I do wonder how they would explain Roseanne's absence. In the season finale for this current reboot the family was shown happy together after getting some much needed financial assistance. And Roseanne was preparing to get surgery for her knee. So I wonder how they would transition from that to a story centered around Darlene. Would they have something happen to Roseanne? Or would they maybe have Darlene move out of the house and have her family members interact with her, and just mention from time to time that Roseanne is off doing different things.
  5. This is definitely an unfortunate situation. I feel bad for all of the cast and crew who lost their jobs over Roseanne's awful comments. It's a shame. I thought that the Reboot was really good and I will miss it.
  6. I'm glad that Crystal was able to retire with full benefits and that she was able and willing to help one of Roseanne's children get her vacated job. The show is showing how important it is to have benefits and a decent job, especially since Roseanne and Dan are struggling financially and don't have the best health insurance. (Which is factoring into Roseanne not being able to get surgery for her knee and overdoing it with the pain medication.) I don't know what exactly happened with "The Lunch Box" but Roseanne and Dan haven't had the best of luck with jobs. And they are starting to really feel the strain of that in their older years. I don't think they really have anything saved up and they don't have very good benefits. Good for Crystal for finding a job with good benefits and sticking with it and helping one of their kids have that opportunity. Darlene was right when she said it was "irresponsible" not to take that job given where she's currently at in her life, with two children to provide for. It was just unfortunate for Becky, that Darlene came to that conclusion after she intially said she didn't want the job.
  7. I enjoyed last night's episode. I felt kind of bad for Becky when she ended up letting Darlene have the casino job. I understood where Becky was coming from about not feeling like she didn't have as good of opportunities as Darlene who has a college degree. Plus, Darlene said she didn't want the job at first. I did think that Becky and Darlene had realistic dialogue regarding their feelings about which one needed the job more. Hopefully, Becky will go back to school and eventually get a better career. I liked seeing Dan continue to be a voice of reason and telling Darlene that while she has her dreams (of being a writer), she needs to start making decisions that will benefit her children now. I think she needed that push from him because I think that she has seemed a bit nonchalant since she's come back home. I enjoyed seeing Crystal again and liked that she helped out one of Roseanne's kids. I also thought it was interesting that they touched on Roseanne's issues with prescription medication and want to see where that storyline may go. And I thought it was sweet when Becky called Mary/little Mark her "baby birds". Those two kids are cute.
  8. I wish they would address Jackie/Andy too. Heck, mentioning that he is on the fishing boat with Jerry would have been fine with me, lol. It's strange they are acting like Jackie doesn't have a son, especially since she continues to be a loving/supportive Aunt (and now Great Aunt as well). I think that she deserves to have an adult son in her life to dote on and have a good relationship with, (even if she veered into really overprotective mode at times.) Maybe this scenario might be true of Andy/Jackie : Maybe we will find out after the show ended that Fred moved away and Andy didn't really see much of his father, causing him to act out when he reached his teenage years. He could have became really unruly causing Jackie to reach out to Fred. Fred visits them and they both decide it's best that Andy go live with him. While she might have agreed this was best, it still could have upset Jackie, causing some emotional (and physical) distance between her and Andy. Or maybe he was actually a well-behaved kid, who just once he got to a certain age ended up asking Jackie if he could live with Fred, because he wanted to be around his father more. This could have also hurt Jackie and caused distance between them. Things could get even more complex, if Fred remarried and Andy became close to his stepmother. Jackie could have felt like the new wife replaced her in Andy's life.
  9. I had thought they were going to draw out his relationship with Blue a while longer and then have Darlene eventually end up breaking those two up. I was surprised when they had them try and get back together so quickly and then break up again. I was also surprised that Roseanne didn't want them back together romantically as she loves David. (And in that episode it seemed like at first she did want them back together.) I also wonder if we will see Andrea again. I think it would have been better if she had been a neighbor or some type of family member.
  10. I was wondering too if David was paying child support or at least giving some money to her to help out sometimes. Especially since she's had to move in with Dan and Roseanne, who are now currently unable to fully pay all of their bills. David should be helping out in some way. Even if it's just giving her some money, and doing things like taking her/the kids grocery shopping sometimes. Roseanne did mention that Darlene got a severance check in the mail, but I don't know if she's getting unemployment or not. I also wonder when we might see her get another job.
  11. I enjoyed tonight's show and have been enjoying the show in general. I thought that the storyline with Roseanne's Muslim neighbors was good. I am glad that she got a better understanding of who they were as people. I also liked that she defended the wife when the cashier was being prejudiced towards her. Also, I am glad that they showed DJ's wife. I think that was good casting and she looks like she could be Mary's mother. And I like how this show addresses that there are families out there who are struggling financially. A lot of tv shows don't really address this. They portray families as being able to basically afford what they want without any financial struggles. And it's not representative of what a lot of families go through financially.
  12. I enjoyed tonight's two episode premiere. It was very warm and familiar. The acting from the cast was very natural. I thought that the episodes had a nice mixture of comedy and some drama. I don't care for Becky's storyline but I am enjoying most of the storylines so far. I am looking forward to learning more about DJ and his family.
  13. Sterling K. Brown just won Outstanding Leading Actor in a Drama Series for "This is Us". I am very happy for him. He does a wonderful job in this role, and I think this Emmy is well deserved. I am looking forward to Season 2 of this show.
  14. I am glad that the citizens of Charlottesville chased away Jason Kessler. He is an evil racist coward, who can't take getting his comeuppance for the damage he has helped caused. Jason, Richard Spencer and others from this racist group need to be held accountable for the destruction they have caused. I hope they get chased all the way out of town.Their views and actions are disgusting and so is them infiltrating Charlottesville. Unite the Right thought they could try and take over in that smaller community but I am glad they are learning otherwise.
  15. I read that Third Party Candidates like Gary Johnson got over 266,000 votes in FL. That is more than the difference of votes between Hillary and Donald (around 134,000). Those votes could definitely have made a difference.
  16. I am glad to see that Hilary is now leading in NC. I'm from there and went to vote with my dad this morning. Hardly anybody was at our voting site. I wonder how the turnout will end up being in the state(and also other states).
  17. Here are some harsh comments that former Speaker of the House John Boehner said about Ted Cruz recently: http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2016/04/28/boehner-cruz-is-lucifer-in-the-flesh.html?via=twitter_page LOL. I am not surprised at all that Boehner feels this way that way about Cruz. Cruz orchestrated the government shutdown and sat back like a weasel while Boehner took a ton of heat for that. He let the bus run right over Boehner when that happened.
  18. There really are a lot of hypocrites in that party. It is a interesting mess lol. Here is some more information regarding this situation. One of Ted Cruz's alleged mistress Katrina Pierson, (the spokesperson for Trump) was saying a few days ago, how she wanted to "spill the beans" on Ted's wife Heidi. Here's some stuff she said regarding Heid's involvement in politics and career. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/274308-trump-aide-fulfills-threat-to-spill-the-beans-on-heidi She's mentioning all of these things about Heidi, yet she may have been sleeping with Heidi's husband. Ted may have told her some of these things when they may have been sleeping together. It looks like Katrina is the ones (along with the other mistresses) that someone spilled the beans on. Ted has now come out and said this story isn't true and is blaming it on Trump. I actually don't think that Trump really has anything to do with this leak. I read reports that said that Rubio's camp was initially responsible for trying to get this story out, weeks ago. I am definitely interested in seeing how this plays out and how it will affect the election. If it snowballs enough, it could cause Cruz to drop out before Trump or even Kasich.
  19. It looks like at least some of this Cruz story is true. It's being reported by multiple sites that some news outlets learned this information earlier but chose not to post it. A Washington Times journalist said that they can confirm that he cheated with at least two mistresses and a journalist from Breibart said he was "scooped". Allum Bokari from Breibart was hinting back at this in February. People also have identified three of the women who were mentioned in the National Enquirer article. One of them is a spokesperson for Trump and made her Instagram private last night after this news broke. She just tweeted that the claims about her and Ted are not true. Another one works for Carly Fiorna, which is also interesting because back in July of 2015 a Ted Cruz Super PAC donated $500,000 to Carly's campaign. I think this news could very well be true. The National Enquirer may be a tabloid, but they have been correct about some pretty big scoops in the past. I have long felt that Ted Cruz is not a trustworthy person and I still believe he's worse than Trump. http://www.conservativeoutfitters.com/blogs/news/94574273-8-things-you-need-to-know-about-ted-cruzs-sex-scandal
  20. They have shown a blueprint on how to deal with him. Just bring up all the stuff he has changed his mind on and attack him. I do think that a lot of times he says what he wants people to hear at any given moment. But I also think he is actually willing to compromise on some things and isn't as stringent on some issues like social security, and planned parenthood, healthcare. But I think one of the biggest reasons he constantly changes his minds on issues, is he really wants to appeal to as many people in the Republican party. I think he is trying to sound "tougher" on issues, to try and present himself as an ideal Republican candidate. He hasn't presented himself like someone like Ted Cruz has, in a "very far right, hard-nosed, I am sticking completely to my guns and have been since the beginning type of way." Trump constantly changing his opinion on several issues, has finally caught up to him tonight. I actually don't think he sounds bad on issues like the trade/business issues, but he was hurting tonight when they were talking about different policies, including foreign policy. I thought that John Kasich came off the best during tonight's debate, but I'm not sure it may make that much difference. I think that the race may be too far gone, for him to catch up and gain enough support to really make a big difference for him. I still don't care for Ted Cruz, and think he is the worst candidate left. I just don't find really much about him that is sincere, and I think if he was president he would really hurt a lot of groups of people. I think that others including Trump would accomplish more positive things if there were elected than Cruz would.
  21. They were really going at Donald tonight. He did seem flustered during tonight's debate at times, when Rubio/Cruz were taking turns attacking him. Then Fox showed the video of him constantly changing his views interview in some cases, within days of each other. They were really trying to take him down.
  22. Yeah, in the end all it really is going to do is help Hillary win the presidency, which I am fine with, lol. I don't see Romney or any third party securing enough votes to take the presidency from both Donald and Hillary. Plus, if Mitt and other republicans deny Trump the nomination like they are thinking about doing, that is going to anger a lot of people who intend to vote for Trump. They were discussing tonight on CNN how people are turning out in record numbers due to him, and if they feel like Mitt/the other republicans are trying to oust him, they may turn away from the Republican party. So Mitt's plans could backfire on the party in that way. But maybe he and some of the other republicans who are willing to bite that bullet. They may come to the conclusion in the end it's better to have Hillary as president (even though they may not say this aloud) than to have Trump win it. Maybe they are willing for this to happen and intend to regroup and try and take back the presidency after her first term concludes.
  23. This is all very interesting. Trump needs 1,237 delegates to get the nomination and Mitt's strategy of everyone voting for other candidates to prevent this from happening is interesting and could work. I am watching CNN now and the commentators mentioned that Mitt and his advisors are exploring trying to block Trump at the convention and deny him the nomination. They also discussed the possibility of Mitt running as a third candidate to take away some votes from Trump. If that happened though that would hurt Trump, but I think that could also help Hillary. I don't see enough people voting for Mitt or someone else as a third candidate to help that person become president. But I guess that maybe Mitt's and other republicans like him main goal is or may end up being to stop Trump at all costs. Even if that may mean helping Hillary win the presidency.
  24. I saw it. I'm in the anyone but Trump side of this fence, but it was funny. Q- My husband agrees with you that Cruz is worse than Trump. I actually agree that Trump doesn't believe some of what he's saying. He fell into this authoritarian movement, but I don't think that makes him any less dangerous. I also think that Cruz is worse than Trump. I think that it's unfortunate that someone who helped orchestrate a government shutdown and was willing to let it go on as long as possible to suit his agenda/views, has as much support as he does. Cruz was a driving force behind that and was willing to let several groups of people suffer financially, including very vulnerable groups of people. It seems like a lot of the country has forgotten that though. I think he should be one of the fewest vote getters in this whole race. I wish Cruz would have been one of the first people to drop out of the race. I would have rather seen him go before Christie, and I don't care for Christie and think he can be abrasive. A fear I have is that once Rubio drops out, he may have enough supporters to help Cruz close the gap on Trump. That and maybe some assistance from a lot other Republicans who don't like Trump, could make things a lot closer between those two. Trump is not my ideal presidential candidate, but I would hate to see Cruz get the Republican nomination. I think he would be the worst president we have to date. If by some chance he is nominated, I hope Hillary beats him out.
  25. I thought Dole's main emphasis was getting rid of Cruz (politically speaking). Speaking of Cruz, his inherent nastiness is taking an increasingly heavy toll on his campaign. This should have been his year, in many ways, and he's been running for President as long as Marco has. He's just so smarmy, unpleasant, and smug that it's easy to believe the worst of him (his wife going around talking about how with Ted you see the face of God, or whatever, and his father being a nutjob doesn't help). http://www.politico.com/story/2016/02/ted-cruz-marco-rubio-2016-219645 I agree. I find Ted Cruz to be unlikeable and very untrustworthy. I don't find him to be the least sincere. I think that he is the worst person left on the Republican side. LMAO at Carson: "Can someone attack me"?…..LOL….he is being ignored once again…. I literally laughed at loud after he said that. He really is being ignored, the moderators skipped over him regarding multiple questions. I have forgotten he was in this debate half the time it has been going on.
