  1. Yes, I can definitely see him trying to harm her in some way later on. He's way too possessive over her, watching her and all those "old man" insults he was throwing at Joey. I think she brightened up a bit more around Joey. Maybe she will start to be fleshed out a bit more around him. I agree she is a bit more one note than anything right now. Also, I enjoy Naomi/Anita's interactions. I like that they are close. I did like seeing Anita reminiscing about her life and past career. She seems content in general with where she is now, but maybe we'll eventually see someone that will come from her past (like a former groupmate or something) and that will give her more story.
  2. I did lol when Diego said that something like Vanessa is now going from the cradle to the grave after he witnessed her and Joey together. I think she's brightened more around Joey than she has either Doug or Diego. I wonder where that will go even though her character has been one of the few characters on this show that isn't working for me right now. Also, Diego really is coming across as possessive over her and I definitely could see that not boding well for her later on.
  3. I do like Kat and Tomas but I also enjoyed Tomas and Eva's interaction. I think he has nice chemistry with both ladies. I do like Eva trying to play hard to get with him a little bit with her pretty manipulative self, lol. I also continue to enjoy Kat and Chelsea's relationship and their bond. I like how Kat is trying to encourage Chelsea to go for her dreams and giving her advice on how to tell Dani the truth about her real career goals. Vanessa and Doug continue to do nothing for me. And for each other lol. Maybe things will get a little bit interesting now that she's met Joey.
  4. I wish Maurice Johnson the best. He really does seem like a nice guy and I appreciate the way he's supported the show and engaged with fans. I hope he lands on his feet and has a nice future. As other folks have already pointed out, this is definitely not the recast I would have made. I enjoyed MJ's chemistry with the cast especially Nicole and Eva. I wonder how things will shake out with the new actor, who I have remembered seeing elsewhere. I also think as it's already been suggested that perhaps the show did this to go in another direction with Ted. I think/hope it wasn't due to any sort of work ethic issues with Maurice. I don't think so, he does seem like a professional, who's was willing to put in the work on and offscreen for this show.
  5. Here's some more thoughts I have regarding this last batch of episodes I just watched. I don't care for Hayley and Bill together. She just seems too "young" for him IMO. I don't think they fit well together. I think that it could have worked better if Bill had married another age-appropriate woman that could have actually been a legitimate rival to Dani. Speaking of Bill I do think he's hot, lol. (To answer another poster's question about the hottest men on this show.) Yeah, he's hot lol. Though I understand that everyone may not agree on that. I am liking him too for now with his dastardly self. I actually would like to see him and Dani make their way back together down the line and see them the happier version of them. (like the snippet we saw in the flashback). It's definitely looking like Dani is hitting the bottom right now, but maybe after that happens and if she can get herself together. Maybe both of them will have to deal with some/more consequences before that happens. I think that Ashley is okay, but she doesn't really have much chemistry with anyone on this show. I think that Andre actually has the most chemistry with Eva, but I wouldn't want to see that, if she ends up being his biological cousin. Also, I don't care for Vanessa or Doug too much. I am enjoying Jon Lindstrom's latest stint Joe the villainous casino owner. It's nice to see him on this show. I do wonder though how their storyline may possibly fit into other storylines/the overall show.
  6. I'm catching back up again on this show. My work schedule is the busiest this time of year, so right now I'm binge watching this show (about five episodes) one day a week. I'm almost caught up again. I look forward to April where things will slow down for me some and I will be able to catch this show daily. Here are some of my latest thoughts: I continue to love Eva. I think she's awesome and I'm really enjoying her interactions with the cast especially her alleged family. She's got nice chemistry with Ted, Nicole, Kat, Martin, etc... I like how as another posted pointed out it seems like she's falling for her alleged new family. Loved her getting rid of Leslie at Nicole's ceremony. The theory that Chris B mentioned several pages back about her possibly Nicole and Ted's daughter had crossed my mind as well. I would love that especially since she has such a nice rapport with both of them. I have doubts about her really being Leslie's daughter. Maybe Leslie did steal her from them somehow, I think something like that could work and could be soapy. Especially considering her ongoing feud with Kat. It would be dramatic enough if she's Ted's daughter but to somehow make her Nicole's long-lost daughter as well, would bring even more fuel to their already heated rivalry. I would be here for something like that. It will be interesting to see what her paternity really ends up being. Regarding Martin, I wonder if he murdered an abusive ex, stalker or something along those lines. Maybe that might help explain why he's so adamant about Smitty staying at home and out of the spotlight. Maybe his secret is one reason he's so adamant about that, though he has been coming across as controlling and manipulative regarding Smitty and his role. I do think that Martin may have killed someone, and I'm interested in learning what his secret really is. Smitty telling him he's safe after one of his nightmares, makes me wonder what Smitty may know/suspect about his secret (unless I missed something regarding Smitty's possibly knowledge of his secret). I continue to love Nicole, she's another one of my favorite characters on the show. DD is a breath of fresh air, she is so vital to the Dupree family. I'm also still enjoying Ted, Vernon, Anita and others.
  7. I'm wondering about the timeline as well. I also thought that Eva was older than Kat. But I also wonder how Martin fits into this timeline. He's older than Kat and seems/looks older than Eva as well. I can't buy Martin as being younger than Eva or even around the same age, as her. (If they were going to try and say that Ted had kids by both Leslie/Nicole around the same time. And if that were the case, I'd be more incline to believe that were Eva/Kat than Eva/Martin.) Unless there is something I missed about Martin from an episode, I haven't seen yet.
  8. I'm glad that everyone is enjoying this show. 🙂 I've finally been able to watch some episodes, though not the very first ones. (I have it scheduled to record the earlier ones when they re-air later on) I started watching like episode 7 tonight on demand and went up to like episode 10. I will probably watch today's and tomorrow's one tomorrow. While I haven't seen all of the episodes yet, I think that I have enough of a handle on what's going on so far. Some thoughts: This is a very good-looking cast. Tamara looks great with her long silvery hair and her daughters/granddaughters all look great. I'm also glad to see that Clifton is aging well. I really enjoying Eva. I think she may actually be my favorite character so far/ definitely one of my favorites. I like her "vibe" and style and how she's able to go toe to toe with Kat. I think she has good chemistry with Ted and even Nicole and I'm wondering how everything will play out. Maybe Nicole will actually have some sympathy for her when the truth comes out. Maybe they will take her in once everything blows up with Leslie, causing even more tension with Kat and their family. I also wonder if they may be some sort of twist to her paternity/maternity. I'm liking Leslie as well and wonder how things will end up shaking out between her and Nicole. I could also see Leslie going up against Anita at some point, heck maybe she may try and make a play for Vernon later on. I feel like she could play off/go against some of the older characters. Martin's behavior with Smitty was rough. I actually expected him to soften his stance a little during their conversation, but he doubled down on it and came across as controlling. Also, a bit antiquated. There are several real life politicians who have ran for office in recent years who have had very successful spouses in the workforce. Including people who have married attorneys, doctors, etc... Plus, when the children involved are a bit older, it makes his argument even weaker. I don't see that relationship ending well. He is giving shades of his uncle Bill, but I don't even Bill talked that roughly with Dani when he asked her to give up her career in the beginning. I'm loving Nicole and enjoying her and Ted's relationship. DD is doing a great job in the role. I don't think that Hayley has a strong presence, and I can do without the McBride's and their storylines. I don't care too much for either one of them or their loveless marriage. I wouldn't mind seeing more of Mona, Ashley's mom Jan and Nurse Shanice. They all come across as more realistic, down to earth minor characters. And now I will say a couple of things that may be unpopular. I like Ashley and her personality and actually don't care much for Andre. I don't think he much chemistry with Dani, or with Ashley either. I think he needs to be fleshed out more and maybe they will do that.
  9. Good for Josh Stein on winning governor here in NC. At the end of the day a lot of people here just could not bring themselves to vote for Mark Robinson and his antics. Maybe this will also be a good sign for Dems here in the state.
  10. I just got back from voting in North Carolina. I voted a little after 7:00pm. I'm glad I made it in time. I usually like to vote the day of election day/ to see/get a sense of how things are going on the ground. It's nice to see Kamala have a lead in NC so far. My area does seem like a heavy pro Trump area but maybe she has decent support here as well.
  11. Rest in Peace to the legendary and incredibly talent Quincy Jones. Like DramatistDreamer mentioned he has so many accolades, achievements and contributions, there really isn't enough space to type them all. I'm glad he lived a very long and productive life. As I'm looking through twitter today watching many people celebrate him, I did come across some of these tweets, of some of his contributions that resonated with me. But he has so many. What a storied life he lived.
  12. I am sorry to hear this news. Like DRW50 mentioned I felt I was out the age range of their typical fan, by the time they arrived on the music scene. But I heard some of their songs and thought they were decent. I actually thought that some of Liam's solo stuff sounded better than some of his fellow bandmate's solo stuff. I honestly liked this song better than anything I've heard from the solo attempts of the others in the band. I enjoyed this video when it came out. Though of course they are all loved by a lot of people and some of them have gone onto to be quite successful (ex. Harry Styles). No doubt this news will be devastating for their fans. Liam had talent and I'm sorry this happened to him. My condolences to his family, friends, and fans.

It looks like Bad Boys Ride or Die is continuing to do well. It has now grossed over $125 million domestically and 200 million globally. The Bad Boys Franchise as a whole has crossed 1 Billion Dollars. It looks like it's been having a solid showing over this recent Juneteeth holiday as well. It grossed over 4 million dollars yesterday on the Juneteenth holiday. It's nice to see that this movie has legs. The Numbers - Daily Box Office Chart for Wednesday June 19, 2024 (the-numbers.com) Also, Inside Out 2 has done incredibly well debuting with $155 million domestic debut and is almost $300 million worldwide. AMC stated they had over 3 million movie goers this past weekend. It's nice to see the theaters doing well right now with these movies. I wonder how well the theaters may end up doing including with other new releases like Deadpool and Wolverine which is predicted to have a nice debut as well. This is a nice change of pace from the doom and gloom that was being predicted about the theaters a little early this year with disappointing showings during times like Memorial Day. Now onto some more reviews. The next movie I am going to review is Tarot that I saw in the theaters a few weeks back. This movie features one of soaps own with Adain Bradley as Xander on Bold and the Beautiful. Adain was one of the main characters and I thought he did a solid job in this role. It also featured Irish actress Olwen Fouéré as an older woman who provides insight into the truth behind the Ouija board/Tarot Readings who tries to help the young people deal with the ordeals they are facing in the movie. The rest of the ensemble featured several young actors, whose names I did not know and work I am not familiar with. I surprisingly liked this movie. It's like Final Destination featuring college kids and a Ouija board. It features a group of college friends/couples who mess with someone else's Ouija board and then have to deal with the consequences of that. They race to try and change their potential fates as well as deal with a troubled force from the past. It features some horror with a little bit of humor mixed in. It wasn't the scariest movie in the world, but it was gorier than I expected. I did look away a few times when some scenes were playing out. I saw this movie on a weekday evening, and it didn't have a ton of people in the theater. It felt like we were just there to see a movie and we weren't interested enough in other options. But nonetheless the movie was okay. It definitely wasn't the worst of the movies I've seen recently. I recommend it for someone that would prefer/be fine with a lighter PG-13 version of a thriller. Something that's not too scary or the most violent/gory movie in the world, (though gorier than what I expected). This can be a movie people check out who don't like/don't want to see/have already seen other options in the theater.

The next pretty good film that I am going to review is the one that is currently getting a lot of buzz right now. And that is Bad Boys Ride or Die I will first start off and say this is a bit of a continuation from Bad Boys For Life. Some of the storylines carry over in this film. I haven't seen Bad Boys for Life yet (I will be watching it soon), and you can follow this movie well enough even if you haven't seen it. You can even watch this movie if you haven't seen any of the other Bad Boys films. But you could watch the other movies to get a more complete understanding of this franchise. I really enjoyed this movie. It was a well shot movie that had a lot of action and entertaining scenes. Will and Martin still have great chemistry together and strong comedic timing. The movie starts out showing both buddies going through some life changes and then introducing a storyline involving their police captain and how the impact of that impacts them and everyone they care about. Things get pretty entertaining from then on as other characters are brought back and introduced including Eric Dane who takes on a darker role in this film. Will and Martin don't disappoint with their rapport and support of each other as they are faced with major new challenges. One of my favorite scenes was when Martin's character Marcus was telling Will's character Mike how he viewed him and what type of relationships they had with each other in a past life. Martin delivered a take that was nice blend of humor and somberness. The bond between these two characters shined throughout the film and continues to help drive the success of this franchise. We also see their family members take on bigger roles. We saw a lot more of Mike's family including one character who played an integral part in the movie and a lot of people seemed to enjoy. Martin's son in law Reggie also got to shine in this movie including in what was mine and (from I've read a lot of people's) favorite scene in the film. That scene was great and very entertaining. I'm reading that it got a lot of people got hyped during it in the theaters from others who went and saw it. I saw this movie on Thursday night (the very first night) it was available, and it was a smaller crowd. But I did feel the audience's energy especially during this scene and I believe they enjoyed the movie. Most of the people in the theater when I went were young people on dates. It's good that this movie resonates with a lot of people including young people who weren't even born when the first movie came out. I also read that a lot of black people (and Latinos) supported this movie I'm not surprised at all, my theater mostly had black and a few Latino people in it. And even factoring in that racial component, it sounds like this movie is being well received in general and I'm very glad to hear that. For Will, Martin, the rest of the cast and for those of us who don't want to see the theaters go away and like seeing that. Some movies, including big budget ones, haven't been faring so well recently. But Bad Boys Ride or Die shows that audiences will show up for things that they really want to see, especially if it is marketed well, and the fans are treated with respect. I recommend people going to see this movie and having yourself a good time.

This is a fun thread. I used to not go to the theater that often, but recently I purchased an AMC A-lister subscription where I can watch up to three moves in the theaters under free reservation. I have gone to see several movies lately. The movies I have recently seen in the theater are The Fall Guy, Sight, Tarot, The Garfield Movie, Summer Camp, Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle and Bad Boys Ride or Die. I'll make some posts giving reviews/my thoughts on these movies. Two of these movies were pretty good, three ranged from surprisingly decent to okay and two were not very good IMO. I will review the pretty good films first. The first one is: The Fall Guy- This film was the first one I saw in this string of movies. I thought that this was a pretty good film and it is disappointing that it hasn't done as well as it could have at the Box Office. It went to streaming only a few weeks after being out in the theaters. This movies has all of the makings of a summer hit. Good looking charismatic leads, who were already in hit movies last year, (Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt), fun action scenes, and a nice romance between the leads. Not sure where things went wrong as far as people not attending the theaters to see it as much goes. I did see people saying online that they were confused about the previews and was not sure what type of movie it was. I thought that the previews adequately showed that it was an action and romance film. The movie, especially the first part, did lean heavily on romance. But I also think there was enough action in it to keep those who prefer that type of movie satisfied. I think it had a bit of everything in it. I thought that the movie was entertaining, I really enjoyed Ryan as the stunt guy in particular. I also like how he was used in an unexpected plot involving the actor ( Aaron Taylor Johnson) he was a stunt man for. I liked his chemistry with Emily Blunt (they had a scene using a split screen that had a nice classic, romantic vibe to it.) I also enjoyed Ryan's chemistry with Winston Duke his friend in the movie. I thought that the storylines were wrapped up nicely in this film and I enjoyed the action sequences and camera shots. Visually it was a very nice film to look at. I also enjoyed the movie within a movie thing it had going on. It was a nice homage to stunt people. I would definitely recommend this movie. I do wonder if it would have fared better if had been released on either Memorial Day/Fourth of July. It just had that type of vibe to it. I wonder if it will start to fare a bit better with streaming, and it's technically still in the theaters like where I live. Though, I wonder for how long. Nonetheless IMO it was a pretty good film and deserved a better reception than it has received so far. I hope more people will end up getting to see it eventually one way or the other.
  16. I am very sorry to hear this news about Kamar. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. I enjoyed Antonio on OLTL, especially his bond with Christian as well as his mother Carlotta, Jamie, etc... One of my favorite scenes of his was actually when Nelly Furtado guest starred as an old friend of his and he got up to dance with her at the end of her performance. It was such a fun, spirited moment, he was getting it. I enjoyed the energy and presence he brought to the role of Antonio. May he rest in peace.
  17. I am very sorry to hear this news about Tyler. I enjoyed his version of Nikolas, he was definitely the best Nikolas. He had good chemistry with his co-stars especially his onscreen family. Particularly GF/Laura and NB/young Spencer. I also enjoyed his chemistry with Lucky, including Greg Vaughan's lucky, Emily and Elizabeth. May he Rest in Peace.
  18. I'm definitely not looking forward to this possible government shutdown. I'm one that would be considered an excepted employee and would have to work without pay. My agency recently announced we will definitely continue to work throughout a shutdown. Plus, I have a few days leave scheduled right around the time that the shutdown may happen and my leave will be cancelled if the shutdown goes through. I was reading rules about how paid annual (and also sick) leave work during a shutdown and none of it is favorable. We have to cancel leave and will be considered AWOL if we don't show up. Unless our bosses get creative with the schedule or put us in furlough status for unpaid leave. I think there might be a chance they could get creative with mine and that I could possibly still get the days off for leave that I wanted. Though, I'm not sure if my bosses will agree to do that for me. I hope they will. I have a couple of co-workers who have more complicated dilemmas with their leave. One has at least all of next week scheduled off for his birthday (I believe he's supposed to go to Vegas). And the other has at least a week to two weeks scheduled off for a surgery. A potential shutdown definitely puts both of them in a bind as they technically wouldn't be allowed to take their leave. I hope things work out and that we can all take our leave. I also live in an area where there is a large military presence, and it would be bad if they have to go without pay. Hopefully somehow Congress will prevent the government from being shutdown and we won't have to deal with the many problems that a shutdown will cause. Though things are looking very shaky and it seems likely that we will have one. If it happens, I hope we get out of it as soon as possible.
  19. I don't usually watch the Bachelor but I checked out The Golden Bachelor tonight and it was super cute. I really like Gerry The Golden Bachelor. He's handsome sweet and charming older gentleman. The ladies were lovely and charming too. They're pretty and seem like a nice, interesting group of ladies. Many of them could pass for much younger than what that they are IMO. My favorites so far are Leslie, Ellen, Theresa and Sandra. I also like Natascha and Faith.
  20. I am very sorry to hear this news. I have always really liked Billy Miller and enjoyed his work, going all the way back to his work as Richie on AMC. He was a talented actor and had chemistry with different female co-stars including some who struggled in other pairings. Kelly Monaco and Amelia Heinle brightened up in their pairings with him. I also remember having chemistry with Alexa Havins during his run on AMC and wondering what could have happened if she had stayed in that role/Richie hadn't been killed off. I remember Alexa saying he had a lot of talent and that she believed he would do well. The last scenes of him as Richie/sparring with Annie/MCE on AMC are my favorite scenes of his. I loved the way they sparred about their relationship and family dynamic. It was very good work from him (and MCE too IMO). May he Rest in Peace.
  21. RIP to Bob Barker. He really was a legend on television and a part of many of our childhoods.
  22. Congrats to Nicholas. This is a big step for him and his career. I'm glad that more people are noticing his talent.
  23. Rest in Peace to this talented and handsome man. I'm glad that Harry lived a very long and impactful life.
  24. I am enjoying the romantic scenes with Sprina on the Haunted Star. I like how close they have become, it's nice to see how them acting more like a couple and working together to try and plan their escape. I really enjoyed this scene in particular where Spencer called Trina "baby" and they share another kiss. This is sweet and romantic. I looked forward to watching more of them together and seeing how this current storyline with them plays out.
  25. Here are some new photos of Sprina from photographer Brad Everett Young. These are very good photos. I have liked a lot of Brad's work in the past when he's photographed soap stars.
