  1. I think she's talking about her real-life sister. Helen Wagner is from Lubbock, Texas. It's been a while since I saw that interview but I think what she was trying to say that wasn't very clear was that when Helen would go to Texas to visit her real sister Ruth, the writers would say Nancy was visiting her fictional sister Pearl.
  2. I suspect Alan doesn't know the true meaning of that phrase.
  3. Just to let you know you're not alone, I thought the exact same things. How could anyone in their right mind want to replace the Bauers with the Coopers?
  4. I think that may have been a leftover from the writers chat. Apparently there was a lot of negative comments in that chat. For good reason.
  5. I thought I had watched ATWT to the very end but I don't know what any of you are talking about. LOL. I guess I watched less of the last ten years than I thought or I just blocked a lot out.
  6. Thanks for that, French Fan. Looking at that just makes me sad that I missed out on all of it. Another World may only be #4 or #5 on the list of my all-time favorite soaps but, in my opinion, Another World 1964-1975 was soap opera at its best.
  7. But how could we have gone on not knowing what happened to Liberty and Janet? 😂
  8. Thank you for that, Paul. Very cool. Where did you get that info from?
  9. Wow. I had forgotten about that. Thank God I had largely tuned out by then. That's really disturbing and shows you how low things had sunk in the writing department.
  10. Yeah, the hair is one of the things that threw me. I think it was a mistake to forget about Betsy as well. I always liked the character. I liked her a lot more than KMH's Emily and Dani.
  11. Thanks, DRW50. I would have guessed later.
  12. That's a GREAT scene that I think I missed when it originally aired. What year was that?
  13. I agree totally with the above assessment. There was a heaviness to the whole show. Like they were mourning the glory days being over. Everybody seemed depressed. It picked up a bit in the late 90s.
  14. I really wish someone would have a long, serious talk with Alan Locher.
  15. I'm truly sorry that in order to keep one person from accessing my videos I had to make them all private. I really regret that because I know how much joy it was bringing fans. I hope you enjoyed them while you could and hopefully downloaded your favorites. According to this person, I stole all of my videos so you should be able to find them all on youtube anyway. Or you could go to his channel where he is using some of my ATWT videos. I'm glad you enjoyed my channel. There's always that one person that has to ruin it for everybody.
  16. Perhaps I will do something like that later after I cool off. Right now, the whole thing has been soured for me. I had a couple of playlists already on unlisted to share with people I know and like. I may do that with all of the videos although there's no certainty this person couldn't still access them if they get ahold of the link. Unfortunately there's not a "douchebag blocker". LOL. I truly am sorry about that and I appreciate your kind words.
  17. Thank you. I really appreciate that. I enjoyed making other fans happy by sharing my collection. Unfortunately, due to some nasty harassment, I had to make my collection private. I didn't want to share my really rare stuff with this person but you can't just block one person. There's always got to be that one person to ruin it for everybody and I shouldn't let nasty comments keep me from sharing but I decided to share originally to spread the joy and hear comments like yours, not snarky comments which was starting to happen. I hope that you were able to enjoy the collection while you could and were able to download as much as possible to enjoy for future use. Thanks again for the kind words!
  18. Yeah, that was GREAT! That was actually my favorite part of the anniversary show. Thanks for pointing it out. I was talking about as regular cast members.
  19. I guess they didn't have much faith that their viewers stick around for any significant length of time. Or that most of them struggle with senility.
  20. Not bringing Mike and Hope back NEVER made sense.
  21. To each their own. Some people like that focus. I'm just not a fan. It probably doesn't help that most of the characters they tend to focus on I find unlikable but, again, that's just me. I wish you hadn't reminded me of Janet. I had successfully repressed that memory. Thankfully, I had largely tuned out by that point.
  22. All soaps tend to devolve into a one-woman show: AMC (Erica), AW (Rachel), DOOL (Marlena, then Sami), ATWT (Carly), GL (Reva), etc. I don't get why that happens. Since soaps began, there was always the ensemble soap(TGL, Against the Storm, One Man's Family) and the one-woman soap (The Romance of Helen Trent, Stella Dallas, Ma Perkins) and there was the two subgenres. However, the long-lasting soaps such as the ones mentioned in the first sentence started out as ensemble pieces and then slowly changed to the one-woman show. In the case of shows like GL it took a very long time to devolve (or evolve depending on your viewpoint) into a one-woman show. I LOVE ensemble shows and HATE one-woman shows so I tended to lose interest in the shows after a while.
  23. I remember seeing that scene where her tone changed so quickly and remembered it all these years later. A little DID, I assume. As creepy as Laura was, I thought Beau was just as creepy.
  24. The Laura Simmons storyline is strangely forgotten. I guess it wasn't popular. I loved that storyline though. Maybe I'm one of the few.
