In the « remembering Woodbridge » article : It was now June of 1969. The show's ratings had continued to dip when Lou Scofield replaced John Hess as headwriter. But when Roy Winsor had replaced Scofield with Don Ettlinger, the audience began flocking back. Unfortunately, it wasn't good enough for CBS. The network leased both Love of Live and The Secret Stormoutright from American Home Products and gained control of both shows, while the idealist genius of Roy Winsor was no longer called for. Roy Winsor was forced to close his office, and The Secret Storm was to endure countless different writing regimes before the real end came. Or had it already come in June of 1969?

Not much info on Danny I agree. Andy was introduced as a bartender at the Bayou, working for Cash. He joined on 06/18/1981. Nikki said Cash that Andy was hitting on her and he was fired. She apologized and they kind of dated during the crazy Edward storyline. Then, Andy was moved into Jill's orbit.

It's sad they didn't bring the original actress - Jana Taylor - for this appearance. It was not as noteworthy as it should have been.

Something confuses me about Jessie and Phil. If I read it well, they divorced in January 1965 and during December 1965, Jessie thinks Phil will come back to town before their divorce is finalized. Did they remarry in early 1965 ? before he raped her and fled Port Charles ?

October 2 1962 Penny Hughes Baker is suffering from amnesia after Jeff is killed in a car accident. Doug Cassen comes to see Penny to see how she is doing. Chris and Nancy Hughes agree with Doug its time Penny goes to see her house to see if that will bring her memory back. While at the house Penny seems to fighting the memories she is too afraid to face.

On Facebook, someone sent screenshots of an episode from « How to survive a marriage ». The tape was given to him by Rosemary Prinz (he also got many « All my Children » from her and many « As the world turns » from Barbara Rodell »). Don’t think he will share the episode video as he is known for selling his stuff but here are the screenshots.

An article from August 1978 mentionned that Heather Cunnigham joined the show to replace Marcia McClain who had left for other projects. But in another article from August 1979, Jacqueline Schultz is mentioned as joining the show and replacing McClain. So I guess Cunningham was supposed to be a real recast but she might have been bad and McClain returned until Schultz took over. Just a wild guess. It was one of the last episodes of McClain before Cunnigham took over later in August.

Here what I collected about Laurie from her beginning until mid 1978 at the time of the episode. I don't have explored the DNS / SOD for later dates. Laurie Keaton was first mentionned in April 1976. As Jay Stalling’ secretary, she broke up a fight between Jay and Tom Hughes because of Jay’s infatuation with Natalie. She lied to Carol – Jay’s wife – about the reason behind the furniture being broken in Jay’s office. Laurie answered several long distance calls from Kilborne and she knew it was connected to Natalie’s past. She asked Mary Ellison, Jay’s other secretary, not to tell anything to Carol. Laurie was worried when Natalie tried to find an appartment in the same building as Mary and Laurie. In October 1975, after Jay spent the evening with Natalie, he ran into Lisa Colman and told her he was working with Laurie. When Lisa said Laurie she was working too much, Laurie didn’t comment. She realized Jay had been with Natalie but refused to be involved this time. When Carol came home after a trip abroad, Laurie went to Natalie to tell her about Carol’s return. Jay also used Laurie to buy a Christmas present for Carol. In April 1977, Jay and Carol were divorcing. Drunk, he picked up some contract at Laurie’s and went to Natalie. When Laurie went to Natalie to retrieve her iron, she saw Jay’s briefcase and told him Carol was trying to reach him. Carol told Jay she was willing to try and save their marriage. Jay told her he was tempted by Natalie again and Carol forgave him since he has been honest this time. After a lunch with Natalie, Mary noticed she was nauseated at the thought of food and she told Laurie that Natalie might be pregnant. Newcomer Melinda Grey became friend with Laurie and got a job in November 1977 at Jay’s office. When Jay’s construction firm was in serious trouble in March 1978, Jay was ready to lay Laurie off but Mary qui first. Laurie realized her job was not safe. She interviewed with Jane Spencer at the Spencer Hotel but she didn’t want to be the equivalent secretary. She became Ralph Mitchell’s secretary and referred her friend Melinda to Mrs. Spencer. As Ralph’s secretary, Laurie noticed Joyce Hughes was interested in him but so was Mary. She advised mary to let her feelings known before it was too late. Laurie also worried about John Dixon’s interest in Mary. BTW, in the September edition of the DNS, it was mentionned that Heather Cunningham had joined as Dee Stewart. Was Marcia McClain replaced? I didn't find any other source.

Laurie was first Jay’s secretary. She was a secondary character for years.
