  1. Yes, it was totally ripping off from Who Shot JR! I guess Bradley figured Kyle Lower had a punchable face and hey, wouldn't it be fun if everyone had a go? I don't think he would have pulled that with Jacob Young who was a bigger name, more respected in the industry, and played 3 very popular characters on 3 different soaps. As Rick, JY can play bad guy but also demands juicier, more substantive material (well, as substantive as B&B can ever be). And the whole Who Wants to Kill Rick SL was pure meta camp -- we were pretty sure no-one was truly going to be killed off. It was like, let's enjoy this parody, which is created especially for The Soup. I literally cannot believe it. Spears? JMW (who is incidentally Canadian)? I mean, I always figured Bill Bell and his family were from old school, low-tax Republican stock, but that was a different time, and largely a different party in many ways. Moreover, Brad Bell donated to Obama's campaign and his wife got an ambassadorship to Hungary. I just assumed most actors in soaps were pretty lowkey Hollywood liberals, but it seems like a larger fraction on B&B than I thought might not be. IR seems fully on the Trump motorcade, as does KB, but im wondering if JMW, JG and even ADS might be more libertarian and worried about precedence in terms of decision-making over one's body (hence vaccines being considered a personal choice, etc). I have no clue what ADS's point is regarding vaccinating buildings/bridges against suicide. Woooooo.
  2. That's a good idea. Famiy Karma a few weeks back didn't have a reunion to speak of, but they did appear remotely on WWHL to touch on a few of this season's SLs and play a few 'who would you rather' type games. It was light, very breezy 20 min episode, perfect for Andy's short attention span. A similar show might actually close the door on this season's RHONY in a non-toxic, entertaining way. Forgot to address the first part of your post -- yes, I can see what you mean when someone stands over you, it changes the dynamic. It is worth noting that Dorit and Garcelle were both icily sober and i don't think would ever have gotten physical. They are too much aware of their onscreen personas and how they present themselves. Porsha & Cynthia escalated because of alcohol and because P had zero desire to curb her impulses. She was deeply resentful that most of the cast had little respect for her. Her position on the show was precarious and her instinct was to lash out via physical intimidation. It was the go-to of a weak person. Porsha hadn't yet learned how to battle with words and wit. I'm glad the rest of the cast shut down that behavior and told her point blank it was unacceptable. It forced her to change her entire approach because she badly wanted to build a career on the show.
  3. For sure they will bring it up at some point to make themselves look like the intimidated victims. Garcelle made me feel uncomfortable and *fwightened* 😉 That scene with Sutton talking about lending money to Erika is still eye-opening to me. Wow. How could production cut that important 50 seconds out? It explains a lot but I guess the Coven needed to bang on about 'selfish Sutton concerned about her society rep.
  4. Garcelle wasn't in her face in my view. She got up to leave and then Dorit said she was rushing away from the discussion, so Garcelle answered her. She was angry/hurt but not aggressive to Dorit when she responded to her standing up, I thought. Maybe I should rewatch that bit again. Danny Pellegrino in his podcast (which i just started listening to) just said "We not only had Sutton vs Erika, we had Dorit vs Garcelle, we had Rinna dressed as the zebra character in Madagascar..." 😄
  5. Gosh, Jay, I don't know! Why WOULD Bravo cut that scene? Unless it was to make Erika and her coven of cheerleaders look moderately better! I just want to say: Dorit nastily policing Garcelle's tone and telling her to sit down was just awful. The more I think about it, the more smug and awful she becomes. She really thought she was some boss socialite maven handling Garcelle like that, but ultimately she handled nothing. You could tell through Garcelle's sunglasses that she lost what little regard she may have had for this try-hard, ignorant fool.
  6. That is truly shocking and devastating for Alexia. I remember her mom the psychotherapist who lived in Madrid during S3 when she did those therapy sessions with Alexia's son Peter. Covid, too -- how devastating. Yes, they way you explain it re: RHONY's non-existent reunion is perhaps for the best. Best not to draw any more attention to this season which has been so publicly maligned. Take time to reassess and regroup in better Covid times. I will say that the fact that so many outlets are discussing what went wrong with RHONY suggests viewers want to see it restored to its original lustre. Many fans are invested in the show getting back on its feet. With Dallas, talk of the show on social media simply trailed off into indifference.
  7. BH Dorit is a twit. I didn't fully buy her Good Guy act last year, so in a way this is true to form. She just wants her moment because she did F all in the first 10 episodes of this season. All the deflection she is putting on Garcelle is to cover her ass re: throwing her BFF Erika under the bus to all the others. The fact that Erika said nothing to defend Garcelle was "whack" to borrow the term she started throwing around at Sutton. When Sutton burst out laughing at her, I almost cheered! What was surprising was Kyle doing the bare minimum to defend her fellow Encino-dwelling buddy. And in the VTs she was relishing Dorit being brought down a notch. @Taoboi is right -- when it comes to a choice between Dorit or Garcelle, sniper from the side Kyle is more than comfortable seeing Dorit go down in flames. Guess they're not as tight as we thought they were. Kyle is by far having her best season ever. Kathy makes her look funny, light-hearted and relatable. Her BTS manipulations are a thing of beauty: she's telling tales on Sutton to Erika and Rinna, and yet has Sutton on speed-dial for cosy morning chats while she puts on her face. Will she ever be exposed? Not this year -- Erika has definitely taken the heat off her. That was a nice scene with Kathy about Américain Woman and the wedge that drove them apart. I felt like it was genuine too. Next week: i am ready for Sutton to bop the snarling Cujo right in the nose! "Or what? OR WHAT?" -- BOP!
  8. Truly ICONIQUE. That Lowder-Moss era was classic -- for all the wrong reasons. Here's another one: Listen out for the squeal as Rick goes over the edge
  9. Great pic! He had such a dapper, sexy, almost 'Old World' presence. I can see why he was cast as Dimitri on AMC and against Joan Collins on Dynasty. My schoolfriends and I (avid Dynasty fans, all) called him Sexy Dexy. What can I say -- we were elementary schoolers! Goes without saying but they really don't make leading men like him anymore. Glad that after AMC he was able to work through his addictions and make it to the other side, setting up a whole new life for himself. Honestly, I am surprised someone as debonair and talented as Nader didn't hit it even bigger, Clooney styles. But maybe he had a happier life away from the limelight in the end.
  10. That RHOP halfway trailer was so well constructed, and I was so pleased that they are not going to ride the Eddie divorce rumors as the only SL on the show. We'll be seeing more of the Darbys vs the Bassett Hounds, and that is always good for drama. @Chris B Re: the RHONY reunion... Is there even going to be a reunion? In some ways, it might be best to treat this season as a crazy anomaly, end it with next week's finale and pretend it never happened come next season. However, I do worry given latest ratings. According to Bravo Ratings, RHONY S13E16 - 0.746 million viewers (0.19 18-49 demo) -- this is RHOD levels, and the demo is poor as well. Viewers have given up on this season. After the RHOD decision, I'm worried that Bravo may be debating doing the same with RHONY. 😰
  11. I wish I could watch the entire episode because I would love to see how these 3 interact with each other over an extended period. What is abundantly clear from these two clips is just how quick and sparky Karen is in a relatively spontaneous setting. Obviously she is aware what most of the questions will be, but still, she is so quick-witted, clear and direct in her comebacks. She keeps the topic on Gizelle. I live for it! No-one can hold Gizelle to account quite like Karen. And Giz had a point about Karen gossiping about Michael Darby, etc., although the way I see it, a lot of that has occurred after the Darbys tried to make the Hugers their prime target, right around S2/S3. Then Karen was like, you expose my secrets? I can expose yours. The interesting thing about these clips is how... good-natured and surprisingly untoxic the Gizelle-Karen interaction was. On the show, Gizelle usually has a face like a smacked behind whenever Karen comes up. It feels similar to the toxic hatred that Rinna and LVP nursed. Here, though, they are listening to each other, responding to each other, trading barbs. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but they are enjoying the repartee. It feels like an elegant fencing match, not a brawl.
  12. Lol I just love you guys' visceral dislike of Leah! I guess I was holding out for her getting the Garcelle treatment! Wow! That would be really weird if both those women weren't there! Only Eboni, Sonja and Leah? Suddenly I am having visions of the Dallas reunion.
  13. RHOP Wendy saying "This is God paying you back for all the bullsh*t you've done" in her even-keeled tone was worth the price of admission alone. Gizelle was legit in the hot seat, and Robyn was put in her place. You know Wendy practiced in her head the delivery of that entire speech but that's ok. This particular rumor hits close to home. Ashley had about as much involvement as Giz in stirring that pot and making the rumor an issue, so I see why Wendy got upset at her. Ashley basically told Gollum "hold that baby," jumped into a car to Williamsburg, set her phone on a 10-min timer, did some hard pot-stirring with Wendy (I notice the GEBs and Ashley targeted nobody else, not even Kurn), and then climbed back into that car. This is Messy Ashley on a time crunch.
  14. Well, thank goodness for that. As I've said before, RHONY needs additions, not subtractions. Leah gets a lot of hate here, but who wouldn't want to see her put in her place once and for all? Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Also, these rumors seem suspect to me because Ramona really showed her ass the last two episodes, and not in an entertaining way. Many viewers are also frustrated by Eboni. Bravo knows this. So why focus exclusively on them -- and lose Sonja?? You've got to be kidding me with that. And then there's Tinsley. I like the girl, I just don't see her as the end-all and be-all of this show. Her stories never really grabbed me and her personality was ok, but she's no heavyweight RH icon. I'm not sure the show can be built around a wispy personality like her's. Now, if you're going to make Mama Dale a cast member/permanent FOH, that may be a different story! I still say Dorinda will be back next season. Bethenny as an EP -- lord. Bravo came crawling back even after she dumped them for HBOMax and Mark Burnett? Her ego is going to be out of control if that's true.
  15. Scrolled back and just saw it! Marge Sr and Bill were so cute together. Like a foine woine, Evan is aging better with time.
  16. Larsa and Cristy, sigh. Larsa Pippen was the big 'get' on this show because of her Kardashian Konnection, but she was a dull facsimile of the actual Kardashians (and that's saying something). Bravo was wise to cut its losses with her. 'Model' Cristy Rice had no model looks to speak of and got kicked off an actual fashion show in S1 because she didn't feel like showing up on time. Nitwit had a cushy marriage with an NBA player before she was caught having an affair and her husband kicked her out of the house with a quickness. I haven't yet seen the episode but... Gizelle's bewildered shtick is often an act IMO. It's the RHOP equivalent of Kyle's fake, open-mouthed look of shock. Gizelle's 'bewilderment' is meant to convey that Wendy got it all wrong, that she's nuts for getting it wrong, and that Gizelle has no clue what she is talking about. Gaslighty. RHONJ Apparently Bill is back in the husband clique where he belongs! From left to right -- Bill: DADDY Joe B: Poppa Joe G: Poppa's kid Frank: needs the bathroom Evan: A WHOLE SNACK
  17. I wish they'd start with with Steve Kent and the Sony peeps who have helped oversee a precipitous decline in quality. No way Y&R/CBS/Sony would promote a junior creative. Best dip back into the same ole dried-up well! With our luck it'll be JFP or Mal. Heck, TPTB may even be too lazy for that and they'll just have Josh Griffiths pull double duty as EP/HW.
  18. Now that a suit has been filed, surely his position on the show is untenable. Especially as it was on that very set that the harassment was alleged to have occurred.
  19. I don't know. Old RHOM feels very of its time (2010-2012). With regards to the reboot: THE GOOD: -Alexia in the main lineup. Yesss! Queen as far as I'm concerned. She really showed her life -- the good, the bad and the Pablo Escobar. -Adriana can be messy when she wants, so fine. -No waste-of-space Joanna Krupa. -Marysol (even as a FOH). Honestly, Marysol is so thirsty and that always creates drama, lol. -Newbies look representative of Miami's diversity. THE NOT-SO-GOOD: -No Mama Elsa. RIP 😪 -Lisa Hochstein. Overrated. -Larsa. Did any of you watch S1 RHOM? There's a reason Larsa did not progress any further. She is the Kardashian child that Kris gave away because her other kids are much nicer. I predict she will bring nothing to the table but outdated glam and a Kardashian Special face overhaul. -I feel like Miami as the source city means that there is going to be a lot of gloss (and fake implants) but not much substance, and very little about what makes the place special (gateway to Latin America, etc).
  20. Lord. It was a 2 minute cameo, Terri. Oh they would never do that unless they *really* wanted to troll Shannon. The twins in particular look like they enjoy being on camera rolling their eyes at their mom. The real issue was David Beador not wanting his kids to mention him or the new wifey/family on camera. That's why he wanted to block them from appearing.
  21. Perfect assessment as usual, DaytimeFan. Great episode, and I was extra impressed with Sutton's intelligent questions, follow-ups and conclusions. She could teach Andy a thing or two. I also liked that she didn't crumble after everyone (who chimed in enthusiastically at the beginning of the episode) threw her under the bus and shamed her for reading the 'whole' article. She knew exactly what she was dealing with, as she chuckled in her VT: "These women. Pft. They really got me." The cowardly coven showed their true colors, exposing themselves as the sly, two-faced, fair-weather 'friends' they are. I'm looking at you, Rinna, Vyle and Dorit. Dorit has always abandoned her acolytes to save her ass. She is a born grifter, telling people just what they want to hear while quietly picking their pockets. Rinna was furious at everyone not sticking to the script, and Erika was well prepared for that dinner, so I just know that Rinna gave her the heads up on what was coming. Everything about Rinna feels like one big act, and she pretends she doesn't give two sh!ts about anything, so F you, viewers. Well, why should I care if she doesn't? I don't enjoy watching her at all. Erika looked rough. I don't think she's the Jen Shah at the top of the Ponzi scheme (and I'm ready to fight that corner when SLC starts airing) but she is complicit. She's a bit like an Ivanka -- she didn't press send on her father's Tweets, but he shook the tree and she happily picked up the fruit. "I'd like to know where the money is" -- b!tch, you're wearing it. I see the coven still trying to make Fetch -- i mean Terri -- happen. She was about as welcome as a fart in an elevator. Garcelle, Sutton, Kathy and even Crystal have breathed fresh air into this franchise, unclawing the coven's control of the narrative. The rest can go.
  22. For sure Zen Wen got a taste of her own medicine after last year. It's a whole different story when the shoe is on the other foot, and the GEBs could test the patience of a saint! Is it hypocritical? Yes. But I was still lowkey doing this ✊ when Candles zeroed in on Gizelle as the source of the rumors. Thank you! Candiace is trying to be Greek Chorus this year, helped (as @Taoboi points out) by a sweet edit. However, her mouth will betray her eventually, writing cheques that her ass cannot cash. (This is why I have been missing Ashley in the mix this season! Just the mere presence of Ashley's knowing smile drives Candiace round the bend. If Gollum showed up, Candiace would go bananas). OMG Anne of Green Gables??? Excuse me while I quietly reminisce about one of my favorite books of all time! 🥰 La Dame's phrase about not dimming your light is very Anne Shirleyesque. You've been through some difficult things in life, @Taoboi, but I'm glad that advice like this has helped you to stand tall, be yourself and follow your own road. People will try to tear you down because it makes them feel better about themselves -- sometimes it really is mere projection! I'm sad about Dallas. I feel like Miami got a chance to live again, but Dallas didn't? 😪 Not even on Peacock? I was hoping for that 'Leeanne walks through the door' cliffhanger too!
  23. And yet he still pushes forward with no-mask mandates while hogging the state's supplies of Regeneron! This happened on the NY subway
  24. 😪 D'Andra was bending over backwards to make RHOD S6 happen, but I can see why Bravo cut ties. Better to focus on the viable franchises. As @Chris B indicated, choice of production company was a problem. They were, at best, lacklustre. From the beginning, RHOD had a tough time finding an audience and the cast gelling. S2-4 were the standout seasons for me. Firing Leeanne but keeping Beavis & Butthead was the beginning of the end. Tiffany was a great new addition but couldn't carry it alone. I will miss Mama Dee, Ashley Abbott in the Jabot lab trying to concoct potions, the pretentious Deubers and their practice, DTM, Leeanne the perpetual outsider -- and what could have been. RHOP I don't know why I haven't felt motivated to comment on this week's episode! It was a good one. Robyn and Gizelle were basically expressing what some of us have been saying on this thread -- the personality change in Wendy, of which the new boobs are merely a sideshow. I guess it was hard for Gizelle to say "Did you change your personality just for the show?" without breaking the fourth wall. I liked how Robyn handled it, guessing that it was a confidence thing and gently telling Wendy that she thought she was beautiful last year. Gizelle was harsher, and that's why Wendy got hurt, because she was basically saying that she didn't accept the 'new' Wendy. The other great unspoken thing they were talking around is the fact that Wendy and Karen are now friends/allies. That's why the GEBs think she has changed. Because Wendy is no longer backing them up against someone. Gizelle's look when Wendy giggled -- she isn't used to the other women laughing at her getting read. I thought Karen's talk was lovely actually. "Don't dim your light to make another girl feel better" resonated and IMO hit the nail on the head regarding Gizelle. Times like these, I wish Katie Rost was back on the show. ETA: I know people are feeling Candiace as the Voice of Reason this year, but I am not feeling Ms. "Do as I say, not as I do" at all! This week, Porsha started #RHOA again on her posts so I'm assuming she feels vindicated by Falynn's pregnancy, is back on RHOA, and thinks this will keep those pesky rumors at bay this season. Kandi and Kenya better mention something, though! Same. She is lowkey acting tough, although I found Candiace's "Drag me, Monique" and "Hit me, Michael Darby" more violent in terms of language. Do you think Wendy actually would? I honestly do not. She still teaches, has professor status, and would not want to risk that. IMO she is talking the talk but won't walk the walk -- trying to 'dismiss' Gizelle that way she 'dismissed' Mia (only she didn't dismiss Mia with that rehearsed read, and she won't dismiss Gizelle with this one either). Wendy is coming from a weak position as she cannot stop the rumors from being brought out, so she has to put up a tough front, like "What you're not going to do is...". IMO it's about time someone other than Karen pointed out what Gizelle does every season.
