You're right about Keith needing to be played by a much better actor. No offense to GvD but when you are unable to produce chemistry with Jess Walton it's time for a recast. Keith should've been played by an actor like David Selby or Sam Groom.

Jill marrying into a family that HATES her. Y&R did it with the Brooks Sisters, the Abbott Siblings (twice) & the Dennison Sisters.

It's amazing that Y&R did the same story with Jill FOUR times. And it worked. Every time.

The first half of 97 is a drag but by the time Heather returns Y&R slowly begins to sort itself out. But it doesn't really begin to build serious momentum again until Sarah shoots Josh & Nikki. That literally sets nearly everything that happens (to varying degrees) for the next 6 or 7 years into motion.

Y&R should be begging Tricia Cast & Beth Maitland to sign contracts.

Because 1) the success of those kinds of "new" characters depends on a level of writing that no longer exists in daytime, 2) that level of care isn't even afforded to Y&R's current cast. Many of whom were responsible for taking Y&R to #1 and/or keeping it there and 3) the characters from the past they suggested are extremely limited in comparison to the effort it would take to establish them. Notice, however, I did not disagree with bringing Olivia, Nate, Heather, Chance, Scotty, Fen or Joanna back. All characters who should have never left in the first place. A swing and a miss.

Y'all are causing all this unnecessary drama because I said Y&R currently has more pressing issues to deal with than worrying about characters who haven't been relevant in decades. Wow.

First I did not use the word old to be nasty. The Y&R fans who vividly remember those families ARE older. That is a fact. Also funny how when I AGREED with the idea of introducing a niece/nephew for PAUL the same individual who SWORE the interest in the Foster & Brooks characters went beyond their surnames had NOTHING to say. Even though Paul is from that same era. As for the rest? You did all that typing for NOTHING.
