I can't agree we will be in the same place in 2018 and 2020. There are the willfully-blind cult members. True. But let us remember Trump was elected by more than his base because folks figured he was a businessman (who turned out to be Mr. Six Bankruptcies) and would "shake up" Washington. They believed his BS about draining the swamp as said outsider. Instead, take a look around: Accused rapist as Supreme Court nominee - with the GOP's knowledge, insider after insider pleading guilty in court or making pleas for numerous illegal acts, and Trump is in the crosshairs. I believe the base cannot be converted. The rest? I think differently. With the Kavanaugh mess, you can bet your behind the GOP is not only angry about their puppet being in jeopardy, Kav and/or Trump, take your pick. But, outside the cult of GOP and religion, many, MANY woman are likely to vote - and the GOP knows it will not bode well for them. Yes, people actually HAVE TO vote. But primaries and special elections have shown Dem enthusiasm that has not been seen in years. And I think the current mess with Kavanaugh, police shooting unarmed black men in their own homes, and all other forms of "WTF?" involving our current "leadership" are energizing the left, which is why many ARE finally waking the hell up. It's long overdue. And, as an aside, look at Texas and the almost frenzy for Beto O'Rourke. Will he win? I have no idea. But it isn't for lack of energy or trying. If Texas is even CLOSE to going blue, you know people are just sick and tired of the whole mess and want to put a check on it or stop it altogether. The left has more than "attack Trump" to work with here, and it's all thanks to the scum suckers of the GOP.

These pandering scumbags would love to shove the rapist through even now, I have no doubt. But unlike with Clarence Thomas, midterms are coming, and all indications are that the GOP is in for a nasty ride. Shoving the rapist through would be basically having the GOP wave the white flag and giving the keys to Dems now. There are women who are in Stepford mode in the GOP - and who support Trump. But think of the Women's Marches, and I'm convinced there are more who are ready to annihilate these enablers than not.

And the Kavanaugh mess reaches a new level: Ed Whelan, the scumbag now being humiliated and roasted for his botched "other guy attacked Dr. Ford" theory apparently accessed Dr. Ford's LinkedIn site before her name had gone public. And Whelan and Kavanaugh are tight. Still want to tell me Kavanaugh is innocent?

Grassley imposes 10:00 p.m. deadline to hear from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford to contact the Senate about her Spanish Inquisition - or they vote. I assume on Monday. At this point? I say go ahead. Then let the women DESTROY the GOP in November.

Wow. That's the pitfall of a long thread. But thank you! I'll have to look now.

Take your own advice, I say. And at least Kavanaugh got a hearing, even with the so-called Dem "theatrics" (of exposing GOP BS of "confidential" documents that weren't, but I digress!). Does Merrick Garland ring a bell? How about the GOP "theatrics" there? As for no proof about Kavanaugh being a wanna-be rapist, let's see what the hearing unfolds.

I'll throw my hat in the ring. If any of these are repeats, just let me know. I'll dub this the "Santa Barbara" alumni edition since many appeared on there: Jed Allan Nicolas Coster Harley Kozak Lane Davies Marcy Walker Nancy Lee Grahn Jane Rogers Louise Sorel (I think she may have been listed already, but if not...) Leigh J. McCloskey Joe Marinelli Judith McConnell Justin Deas (Think he may have been profiled? Not sure.) Those are some suggestions. Use them or not. :-)

I've said the same elsewhere. Take back control, pack the courts. That will put a crimp in the right-wing lunacy/rulings.

In both soap/political news (well, he was from a political dynasty), Christopher Lawford (Ex-Charlie Brent, AMC) has died at 63 from a heart attack. Maybe he was too old for the role, but I liked him in it. May he RIP.

Pretty much this. I realize he was not a saint even as it seems some are canonizing him now. And I had raged against him regarding some of his more disappointing decisions. But next to what's left of the GOP, McCain does stand much taller with more integrity. One thing I did not know is his mother is still living at 106. My God. I'm so sad she has to bury her child, but she is quoted as saying she was "incredibly proud" of her son. As well she should.

What a surprise that this "trade" deal really doesn't truly exist. But anything to keep the spotlight on Baby Spanky the Treason Yam Narcissist.

The White House just re-lowered their flag to half mast for Sen. McCain. Probably getting ripped from every side. You know Trump likely didn't want to, but at least it has been done. What a scuzzball Trump is.

Can't quote this enough as far as James E. Reilly is concerned. He may have gotten the numbers up for a bit with the "car wreck" mentality, but it destroyed the very fabric of the show forever afterwards.

As one who despises Treason Yam, this has been a most satisfying week, with the tweet directly above my post as the cherry on top.

And Congress? Will do nothing. And I already see Trump supporters comparing this to Clinton/Lewinsky with other women. Now, Trump directing Cohen about the payoffs SHOULD lead somewhere. I'm just not convinced it WILL with this crew.

That all said - and it is wonderful news about Cohen and Manafort! - apparently, the person arrested for the murder of missing Iowa woman Mollie Tibbits is apparently a man who was in the country illegally. So fuel for Dump. Although, whomever this monster is, I am glad he has been caught.

I'm not sure he really has dementia, though. I think he just learned to lie and misdirect under the tutelage of a slimeball even more reviled than he is (Roy Cohn) and has been doing it so long, it has become second nature.

He's been RAGING on Twitter today, bitching about someone named Bruce Ohr. And using Darrell Issa as a credible source for one of his insane theories, which is, in itself, a joke. I do think the fact that McGahn meeting with Mueller has Trump schitting his pants and he's scared to death. Good.

I think it's already toast. Bet Manafort walks. And there have been numerous reports about this judge's bias. While it is not supposed to sway a jury, let's be real. That bias will have some influence.
