Lawd! Alan Locher is having a virtual with Jill Farren Phelps...

Alan Locher will welcome Jill Farren Phelps to his YouTube show, The Locher Room on Wednesday, June 23 at 3 p.m. ET. Phelps has been the EP at ANOTHER WORLD, GH, GUIDING LIGHT, ONE LIFE TO LIVE, SANTA BARBARA AND Y&R and has won 11 Daytime Emmys for her works on soaps.

LOL you hit all the shows where she’s darkened the doorsteps.

He hasn’t done Patrick Mulcahey yet, has he? He would be up for it, but AL gets a bit pearl-clutchy when people are a bit too frank for his PR-honed sensibilities.

Her delusions aside (and maybe even because of them),  with the right person, she could be a great and revealing interview.

Alan Locher is not the right person, though.

I guess the one good thing about the EJ recast is he is nowhere near as smoking hot as JS so the Lucas/Sami/EJ triangle is a little more believable.

Lol. That’s a funny take. Although I think it’s believable that Sami would have a deeper connection with the schlubbier yet more grounding Lucas.

DF was good in his scenes with Thaao today. But yeah I wish they allowed him to be a slightly rougher version of E.J. instead of shoehorning him into James Scott’s posh, polished version. And it would make story sense given all that E.J. has been through.

I want Nina out of the "We Are The World" surrogacy storyline desperately. I'm glad we get to see her, however, they're wasting Emmy Winning Tricia Cast on this travesty.

Totally good to see her, but it’s a reminder that the Y&R she’s associated with no longer exists. Katherine and Ryan are dead. Paul, Christine, and Jill are MIA. Her long-lost Ronan’s gone. The writers everyone now and then remember her connection to Victoria, but she and AH don’t have that rich history and chemistry TC had with HT.

They didn’t even bother to use TC for the most recent Neil tribute, even though Tricia and KSJ literally grew up together, and Neil and Nina were friends. They used Eileen Davidson, for heaven’s sakes.

There are a lot of different ways they could use TC, and they just aren’t doing it. Even though she wasn’t super tight with Victor, Nikki, Lily, et al, she’s a known entity from around Genoa City who could work with more major players.

I wonder how long it’ll be before Sally leaves. They are clueless as to what to do with her, and it really shouldn’t be that hard. Why not at least put her in Nick’s orbit? He has nothing to do.

    This off-screen Chance story… 🙄

Tara needs to be recast and Ashland could have potential but they keep seeing how "ruthless" he is but I don't see it. I would rather if they had made Ashland be a political figure i.e. Grant Harrison from Another World who gets caught up with the canvas of Genoa City instead.

Yeah, back to their problem of telling, not showing.

Nina is so wasted on Abby btw.

I saw it was removed and was wondering why.  That was crazy, but I guess they didn't want that kid to be the highlight of an otherwise miserable tourney.

What’s additionally crazy is that, seeing that level of engagement with the clip, they didn’t think to post it themselves? (Unless I missed it?) They just have a very 20th-century way of marketing themselves.

I read the news of John Gabriel's death this morning from the (not so) reputable New York Post.  I noted that they mentioned that he played the "controlling" doctor Seneca Beaulac which I found remarkable because I don't think that controlling was a defining characteristic on the character.

Seems like a lot of outlets sourced that line from the wiki because THR used “controlling” as well.

While U.S. soaps can't or refuse to get classic soaps on any streaming platforms. The U.K. finds a way to do as BritBox UK will be showing episodes of Brookside, Crossroads, General Hospital (UK) and Take The High Road this July.

Crossroads, Brookside and High Road join Britbox soap offering – ATV Today

I’m not sure if the U.K. programs have the same issues with renegotiating and updating ancient union guild contracts with cast and crew for today’s streaming era, but I’d love to get to the bottom of that. @Errol?  The U.K. has Equity, WGGB, and other unions too.

I wonder if part of it is that British soaps are considered more “mainstream” (airing in primetime, greater gender parity in viewership, etc.). Then again, we’re still waiting on Knots Landing and Falcon Crest to hit streaming in the U.S.
