But after seeing Twitter posting Facebook comments on GH, it's clear that's the audience they are after.

Yep. I need to break the habit like so many others have. For many longtime viewers, Guza was enough lol. Glutton for punishment right here! Just need to let the Ryan’s Hope YouTube playlist roll during the daytime hours.

Welcome to the last 15+ years.

This is probably the longest time I’ve actually watched GH on a daily basis since the early 2000s (due to the pandemic and having fewer obligations).

But ooof, trash. Can’t do it.

It is not dramatic. It is exactly how I feel. Those who read this forum know I have a tendency to be very indulgent with soaps and try to emphasize the good things they do even when everything sucks. But I am beyond incandescent about this. For the exact reason you said. They got me to trust them this would be worth it and it really really really wasn't. I feel like a major sucker.
While I suspect it is not their fault, the current writers shouldn't count on me ever investing anything into any new attempt to tell a long-term tale ever again.

Nope. I thought they *might* actually have the balls to really shake things up. Very naive.

I both understand and don't understand pairing Sharna and Brian. I like Brian but honestly I think Sharna could do better 👀

And yup. They want those viral moments. When you think about it, a lot of shows seem driven by the desire to have 'viral moments'

    Yep.

My Mom loved DWTS. She watches The Voice now. Not even joking lol. I've never cared much for The Voice for whatever reason. It's interesting because I thought my Mom wouldn't like Tyra when she hosted America's Got Talent, but she did (Tyra was much better there IIRC) but yeah dumping Tom was a HUGE mistake.

I believe ABC saw "an old white guy" hosting and Tyra was an appealing replacement. It just hasn't worked.

Now NBC has got him. NBC always picks up Fox and ABC personality's that are discarded. LOL

Ariana is a nice addition to The Voice, but I’m kinda over that show. It’s always been about the celebs and their banter. Which works if you love the celebs and their chemistry, but it gets old, even with a new panelist every few years. The show I really love is Songland, with a panel of star songwriters like Ryan Tedder judging and workshopping songs with aspiring songwriters, who pitch songs for a different artist each week. It’s a great window into that creative world.

I totally agree that ABC saw “old white guy” with Tom, but they didn’t see the value in that particular “old white guy.” If they were aiming for a change, someone with more warmth (like a Nick Cannon or a Cat Deeley, who are great hosts on their Fox shows) would have been better.

Last year, I remember Artem’s partner was injured, and he stopped by during the live show to chat with Tyra and update everyone on his partner’s condition. After the interview was over, Artem was just standing there while Tyra was introducing the next performance, and Tyra sorta scooted over so Artem wouldn’t be in her shot. That’s the kinda vibe I get from her.

It's so lame. I cannot believe how poorly this storyline is being handled. This should've been huge and we're getting nothing.

Not to be super dramatic, but it’s a breach of trust. Soaps are asking a lot of viewers to commit to five hours a week in the hopes that stories are going somewhere. If a movie has a crap ending, you’ve only lost two hours lol. There are other stories going on with potential, like you say, but how do we know they aren’t gonna eff those up too, especially with Spencer and Trina, whom I really enjoy? I’m not as loyal to GH as I am to Y&R, which was my very first soap dating back to childhood, so I’m not sure I want to go along for the ride with GH anymore. I dunno.

Enjoying the “moments” is one thing and I see how people can stick with the show for those, but GH shows their viewers a lot of disrespect.

Here are the rest of the daily spoilers for the week of September 27th, from ONTV/TVGuide spoilers:

    September 30:
Monica worries what will happen now.
Jax accepts his part of the blame.
Alexis encourages Shawn to update her on Hayden's case.
    Ava surprises Kevin.
Esme and Josslyn have a run in.

    October 1st:

Nikolas is backed into a corner.
    Ava gets the last word.
    Maxie is apologetic.
Brook Lynn asks Ned about the tension between him and Olivia.
Scott tells Austin that his challenge of Edward's will is moving to the next step

What’s notable with these spoilers (and the ones you shared further out) is there’s little to no Nina/Sonny/Carly/Jason. Unless they simply aren’t sharing what happens. It’s almost as if they’re saying, forget the past nine months happened. Nothing to see here. It’s very deflating as a viewer.

I also don't think it was the right move pairing Sharna Burgess with her real-life significant other, Brian Austin Green. That's crossing a line.

They so want those viral moments.

I don’t even understand why BAG and Sharna would *want* to dance together. Talk about potentially putting a strain on a new-ish relationship.

Maybe BAG wants to brag a bit, considering his ex Megan Fox is all loved up on Machine Gun Kelly everywhere you look.

  7. The Crown swept the Emmys, with wins for Drama Series, Writing, Directing, Olivia Colman (Lead Actress), Josh O’Connor (Actor), Gillian Anderson (Supporting Actress), and Tobias Menzies (Supporting Actor).

Menzies, who was absent from the Emmy ceremony, won over the late Michael K. Williams, who had been nominated for Lovecraft Country and actually had been the favorite to win. Menzies accepted the Emmy and offered this tribute to MKW via Twitter:

CarSon was a black hole.  No love just 2 self loathers who don't believe they deserve better.  Sonny is an abuser and I would like for Jason to flatten him if he disrespects Jason's wife.

Totally. Yet, in spite of their toxicity, they were hoisted up like the new Steve and Audrey. It was too boring to be distasteful. I’d love to see Jason and Sonny brutalize each other.

  9. Yeah, this show fails on the execution. Again, the ideas are all there for an entertaining show.

Sonny, looking like the Wolfman, should collapse any minute now as his lungs should be a good dark purple right about now.  He was not properly treated for smoke inhalation and I'm thinking he's going to be discovered at the hospital.

That seems like a good guess.

I wonder if DWTS regrets letting him go. A lot of people still miss him. I never thought this show was the right fit for Tyra, anyway.

The demos for the show improved a lot with Tyra, so maybe not? It’s not at all the show it was, so the longtime fans really have had trouble adjusting. A lot of the complaints are from a certain demographic who often have issues with black women, so I do look at some of the kvetching sideways. But after her America’s Got Talent debacle, it’s clear live hosting isn’t Tyra’s strength. And DWTS does now feel like a Tyra vehicle. There used to be a lot of time spent on backstage interviews after the judges’ scores (with Erin Andrews), and, in the background, you could see the contestants and professional dancers chilling, bonding, supporting each other, and interacting. That’s all gone now. Tyra does all the interviews with the pairs alone right on the dance floor after they’ve done their routines and heard their scores, and she’s just not a very warm presence.
