Nothing will come of it, though. They'll "investigate," Trump's people will lie (and blame it on Hillary/Obama), they'll determine no further action need be taken, and we will have to draw a new line for Trump to cross (which he will - and in record time). At this point, Trump could literally gun down someone in cold blood, and we STILL would have to question why he hasn't been forced out of the election.

And that's exactly who we need as our next president: someone who "don't talk good," whose words leave others open to threats on their lives.

I think -- and this is just what I think, I offer no proof -- but I think Trump suffers from bipolar disorder and is currently unmedicated.

Incidentally, Newt was supposedly in on said intervention. Since that announcement of the plan, we've since heard Trump may intend to dump Manafort and bring back Crazy Corey Lewandowski - his favorite advisor who the kids forced him to dump, and one who still consults him unofficially while presently on the payroll of CNN. Sorry, Vee. I must've overlooked it. Frankly, I doubt if anything, including bringing back Lewandowski, would make any difference at this point. "You can't un-ring the bell," etc.

In the past several hours, I have read reports suggesting "top GOP leaders" are readying both an "intervention" with Trump as well as a backup plan should Trump either end his campaign or be forced out of the Republican party. What do y'all think about that? Is there any weight to these rumors? Personally, I think it would serve the GOP right if they couldn't get Trump off the ticket. They had their chance -- heck, they had several chances -- to neutralize this guy, right up to the RNC; and if they cannot be rid of the man now, it's their own damn fault. But on the other hand, the possibilities here are just too delicious for this soaps-deprived boy to resist, lol.

Is he allowed to respond? I would say, "No." Because, with every response to every criticism against him, he starts yet another fracas on the Internet. At some point, someone on his team has got to take away his smartphone and laptop. And I REALLY feel sorry for his kids. Because, if he loses, they will have a helluva time rehabilitating the Trump brand in the wake of all this.

Many who have also expressed interest in voting for Donald Trump are delusional and believe that they can turn back the hands of time when White men felt they had more social and economic mobility, enough to be the sole breadwinner, and everyone else knew their place. For many of these people America was a better place and when they claim to want to 'take back the country', they essentially want to take America back to the 50s before the 'turbulent' years of Civil Rights, the Women's Movement and Gay Rights movements. So many have claimed that back then, a White man knew where he stood...basically at the top of the socio-economic hill. Any doubts, look at the demographic core of Trump voters and who constitutes his largest part of his voting constituency.

Nobody brings the crazy like Donald J. Trump.

Frankly, I think that is what they want. In their opinion, Bernie Sanders never stood a chance within the Democratic party, because the so-called system was rigged against him from the beginning. All their support meant zero, because the party wanted Hillary Clinton as their nominee and nothing was going to change that. Ergo, losing the election, even to a thug like Donald Trump, would be hell for everyone INCLUDING them, but it would also be just desserts for "evil Hillary" and her cronies. Many might vote for a third-party candidate under the nebulous claim of, "Hey, Jill Stein/Gary Johnson could come from behind and upset the apple cart (for Hillary AND for Trump)!" But let's get real: no third-party candidate stands a chance of winning this, or any, election. We know it, and they know it. Now, Bernie is trying his best to persuade them to unify with the rest of the party for the nation's sake, using the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" approach. However, I don't believe he, or anyone else, will ever get through to these voters. As Carl and others have said, they're revolting, because they just like being outsiders, and they'll boo and chant and carry on like Trump supporters because they're not getting their way, plain and simple. Within that percentage of Bernie supporters, though, I have to think there are some who are protesting, because they genuinely see this as being bigger than Trump, bigger than Hillary, bigger than even Bernie. The system is broken on BOTH sides of the aisle, they say, and as long as it remains broken, no one like Bernie will ever stand a chance of breaking through. (Me? I think they have a good point -- and in any other election year, I would applaud and support them. But this is truly Not. The Year.) She'll definitely be cheered by the "Berniacs" who believed Hillary should have chosen her for her VP.

Yeah, I think Oliver would have been better at the gig than Trevor Noah, who (IMO) just isn't intelligent enough.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a rather...polarizing figure. Could someone explain to me, though, why she is that way? I'm not familiar with her record. No doubt, Trump will use this scandal against Hillary in the run-up to Election Day. But I wonder how it will affect her chances. Will this hurt her in the voting booths or will voters be able to look past it?

I don;t understand how everyone isn't outraged. "yes the sysrem is rigged, that isn't news". And it wasn't news to Bernie either, and just because that is the way the system is rigged doesn't make him wrong for speaking out against it or his supporters for declining to go along with the rigging. If the democrats want to rig the system against a guy who got just 1 million votes less than Hillary, maybe two, then they are basically telling over 40% of their voters to shut up, they don't count, the primaries are meaningless, and vote all you want but the nominee is Hillary. Now I know some people don't care because they want Trump to lose, but for the less cynical, for the honest Bernie supporters for whom his religion is not an issue and who don't have NBC hosts shilling for their candidate, they would be perfectly in the right to sit the election out if they wanted. Maybe that guy who wrote the religion email and Chuck Todd can cast 10 million votes in their absence, since they are all about rigging things. "He's right but I don't care" is not an adequate response to Bernie's accusations of rigging. Wikileaks is shady? So what, they didn't tell a single lie. "This helps Putin and Trump"...that's right it does, so why do it in the first place? Was she not able to secure the nomination without shenanigans? I'm as outraged as I can be under the circumstances. As Marceline said, HRC didn't use that plan, thank goodness. I'll be honest, Hillary and Debbie could have convened a coven to put a hex on Bernie or stuck needles in a voodoo Bernie doll and I would still vote for Hillary. I liked him, even if didn't agree with all of his policies, but never Trump. Any liberal who sits out this election is cutting off their nose to spite their face. Trump has said he won't stand by our NATO allies, he's said he doesn't feel the need to pay our debts. I like Mr. Robot as much as anyone, but I don't want to live it. His surrogates have said he'll put troops on the ground to fight ISIS. All of those things are insane and will destroy us. Oh, and then there's that part where he said we should kill the children of our enemies. That's what gets the bulk of my outrage. I know some people here disagree with me, but not even Ted Cruz is as dangerous as this madman. He's close, but we'd survive him. I may be an atheist, but I do believe that a house divided against itself can't stand and Trump is doing his best to tear us apart. Even if he loses in the fall he's damaged our country with his hate. My fear: whether or not he wins in November, Trump has lit a fuse with his politics of fear and hate; and if he does end up losing the election, those constituents, who believe Trump has given them their voice, will not go away quietly.
