He gave a couple to the usual mags and sites online, including one indicating he'd turned down AMC to play Lucci's love interest maybe once or twice over the years.

Gregory Harrison and Susan Lucci might have made for a hot couple onscreen, but Harrison is the sort of actor who can generate at least a little bit of chemistry with any female he's paired with.  Even w/ Valerie Bertinelli, whom "King of the Hill" fans are CONVINCED he once starred in a Lifetime movie with, lol.

I am going to sound old but child actors on soaps today are just too performative.  They don't even seem real.  There is a difference between being cute and charming and being obnoxious and singing full length songs on the reg.

    PREACH!

I am not a child hating, heartless monster all the time lol.

Well, I am, and I make no apologies for it either, lol.

Children are not interesting to watch.  Period.  Which is why I've never frowned upon the practice of SORASing, even if I think many soaps do it too quickly.

There are exceptions, of course, like Jonathan Jackson and Rachel Miner.  Most of the time, however, child actors are just so damn insufferable.

Then again, I still suffer with PTSD from watching Ashley Peldon for three years on GL, so that probably clouds my judgment a bit, lol.

If it was me, Sam would leave (or die) and Dante would remain.

Same here.  I've been saying for a very long time that Alexis doesn't need THREE daughters on the canvas.  If anything, Alexis should have had maybe a son and ONE daughter and no mas.

    Exit interview?

I am not sure how widely know it was or if it was a huge story.

It was a pretty big story from what I remember, even if the murders all occurred in one city.  But, like you said, @carolineg, they still don't know for certain who was responsible (even if the authorities still have their theories, lol).

Watch I said that and now he will become the best young actor of our generation lol.

Exactly, lol!  I never would have guessed that I would live one day in a world where Emma [!@#$%^&*] Stone is a two-time Academy Award winner.  But here we are!

Although I did find Sasha the most interesting while high.

You mean while YOU were high, or...?  I'm joking.

When I read @DRW50's post about the "bad pills" storyline on "Hollyoaks," my mind went immediately to the Tylenol murders.  "Yes," I thought, "now THAT would be a GREAT way to trim that cast!"  I didn't realize they actually were talking about something else entirely, lol.

Forgive my ignorance, but did they play off one another on GL much?  I thought their stints on GL didn't overlap much and I honestly only have the most basic working knowledge about GL.

I do recall at least one run-in between CW/Annie and LW/Cassie, but you're right, LW joined GL in '97 and CW left in '98.

Chase said on Monday that his mother couldn't make it to the wedding because she was on assignment on the far side of world.

Translation: Kim Delaney didn't work out.

I just left today's episode with a feeling of "that's it?" but it could just be because I don't care about Gregory at all lol.

Gregory was a character we didn't know very well and didn't care about, tied to OTHER characters we don't care about; and as with most stories that GH has told for the past ten-plus years, they dragged their feet with Gregory's story so much and for so long that any chance they MIGHT have had to GET us to care about it had evaporated long ago.

I'm with you and @Vee, @carolineg: the ending was anticlimactic, but at least it's at its' end.

Generally, I do feel like daytime just isn't a great place for this type of plot - much as we all probably used to laugh at "soap opera disease" when we were younger, I wonder if Bell, Nixon, Irna, etc. had the right idea.

I've said this before in other threads, but the problem with doing stories about incurable diseases such as Alzheimer's or ALS is that they offer no hope to viewers in a medium that, at its' core, is supposed to offer hope.  (Like the song says, "there's always tomorrow.")

Furthermore, what's to keep viewers from tuning out once the afflicted party inevitably passes away?  It's like when OLTL's Megan died of complications from lupus.  The show, and then-HW Michael Malone, got a lot of good press and attention for telling that story - and rightfully so!  Once it was over, however, I was like, "Okay, now what?"

Suspense is a crucial element in any good soap story - or any story, for that matter - but when the character dies at the end - and it's assumed that that death cannot be reversed down the road - then the suspense is pretty much gone; and with it has gone any reason to keep tuning in.

People getting butt-hurt over a female actor not performing a sex scene concern me.

For me, the problem isn't that she won't perform a sex scene.  (And by the way, could we please stop making it sound as if we're begging JS and AS to do hardcore porn, lol?). It's that neither she nor her on-screen husband give us anything in the way of romance.  Even a handshake is seemingly "off limits" to those two.  Naturally, when it's THAT chaste, the lack of love scenes becomes all the more noticeable.

I think the same thing happened with Adam Gregory on BOLD. I read something about he didn't want to do kissing scenes cause he's a Christian and they basically ended up recasting cause of it

Adam Gregory (allegedly) didn't want to do kissing scenes, but he was okay portraying a reality show contestant who was accused of sexual assault on "L&O: SVU"?  Sigh.  My fellow Christians really can tire me out sometimes, lol.

Again: you will not go to Hell if you are an actor and you so much as kiss someone on camera!  If you're letting your faith dictate your acting career to that degree, then what are you even doing in the business?

Instead she is now a cop's wife basically wearing bloomers half the time

Bloomers, eh?  So, they've glammed up Grandma Brook Lynn after all!

This is a daytime soap opera,  not a Christian music video after all.

Nah, I've even seen Amy Grant videos that were more PG-13 than Chase and BLQ.

Wonder if Lloyd Gold and Cathy Lepard have also been fired?

I think the entire writing team should be fired.

I believe a lot in fostering a family environment behind the scenes on these shows, and I actually really enjoy kids having a key role on soaps when the roles are written well and the kids are able to act (as was the case in the '90s). But the stuff with Bechtel running rampant, or Violet mugging through scenes or whatever else is not that. It's just Frank seeming like an overly indulgent Dr. Dolittle (Dr. Dolittle fostered animals, but you know what I mean).

Frank really should quit GH and go produce a kids' talent show.  It's painfully obvious that that's where his heart is.

I'm sorry, but it's just beyond ridiculous that these two actors will not do anything resembling a love scene.

I won't be shocked if they start referring to each other as "Mother" and "Father" soon!

Watching Chase and BLQ is like watching LOVE OF LIFE during the Jean Holloway era, but I know it can't be, because there's no one named "Bambi" around to eat the damn show!
