  1. I love golf as well and it has the advantage of having 3 of the 4 majors in the US. Also as @DramatistDreamer pointed it out they have break out stars like Jordan Spieth and other American males. The ratings for the Masters final round this year was....7.9 rating and 13.0 million viewers....a lot higher than any tennis match this year.
  2. Not surprising since the French is the least accessible of all the Grand Slam tournaments to watch. Actually the 1.1 rating and 1.62 million viewers isn't that bad. Last year's final with Nadal vs Anderson at the US Open was much lower and didn't even come close to hitting the million mark in total viewers and had a lower than a 1.0 rating . The problem with tennis is that the media pimps the same players and doesn't feature the up and comers(Thiem wasn't even shown until the fourth round)....and the American males suck so no interest for some to watch. I am surprised the women's wasn't higher with Sloane in the finals. The US Open numbers for the women's matches were higher.
  3. Not a surprise but at least we'll see him at Wimbledon. Can't say that about Roger and Paris. He could have easily lost today. Roger is not that dominate anymore on grass like he use to even though he wins it....imagine Rafa losing the first set of a clay court tournament in the opening round....would never happen.

  5. I thought Murray wasn't playing? And Joker was about to retire it seemed from his exist interview? Looks like a loaded field..... Just read where Joker was a late entry. Joker sure is a drama queen.
  6. Ha! Lawd...
  7. What? This is the first time I am hearing about this....
  8. Ah thanks.....my dad who use to watch tennis during my HS and College years playing days hasn't kept up with it but says something fishy with Nadal winning 11 times....LOLOL
  9. +1
  10. Nadal said he was going to but I haven't heard anything since. And back to the women's vs men's golden era....with Sloane and Madison's games heating it up along with the Williams Sisters the ratings will only improve for women's tennis. I don't see any American male player stepping up to the plate. Ratings will continue to stay low with only Rafa and Roger winning slams.
  11. Yeah, it doesn't wash. Serena and even last year's all American Women's semis at the US Open got higher ratings than a Roger match and Nadal didn't even come close. I posted on social media on how boring Nadal's win was yesterday. The grass court season has started but pretty much have it on as background noise. The field is very weak with only Roger playing....everyone took the week off to recover from Paris. I am doing the same thing.
  12. I am glad that TC mentioned how some viewers have described Nadal winning every year as boring. I guess they do check social media. They said it was history in the making...I am like blah...its boring.
  13. http://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_/id/14942201/rafael-nadal-denies-doping-new-allegations-arise-former-french-sports-secretary With Andy Murray not playing Wimbledon he will have zero points and have no ranking.
  14. He is overrated. He only drop shots..so tired of seeing that from him. He should've lost in the first round. He had never won a grand slam tournament match. Actually, Joker should've of beaten him....that's why he was so distraught after the loss and said he wasn't sure if he'd even play Wimbledon. Yes, it sucked that Nadal ruined things once again this year. I have become numb to him winning every year. I am wondering more and more now if the rumors about him from that French reporter are true. I enjoyed the match even though my fav Thiem didn't win. He did deserved to be in the final and it was nice to see him play the final Sunday. I didn't know had he won he'd have been the youngest to win Paris in a while.
  15. And can someone release the full remix of the song....lawd it's been played 24/7 during the French Open...so catchy....never get tired of hearing it......
  16. Yet Tennis Channel and NBC kept pimping Nadal boring ass wins. I have been over him for years and never cared for his boring ass game. Jim Courier has been trashing Thiem's game and how he didn't have a chance against Nadal way before the QF's ever started and John McEnroe said he didn't have a chance of winning if he played like he did today. If you aren't Nadal, Roger, Andy or Joker TC/ESPN and others don't feel you exist. There a lot of tennis fans trashing TC this week about it and poof they interview Thiem out of the blue. On a side note...Twitter followers asked Brad Gilbert why American Women's Tennis was more successful than the men and he had no answer.....LMAO....... James Blake is too nice that's why he got played.
  17. But of course!
  18. Ha! Go Sloane!! I can't stand Darren Cahill. I was shocked at how well Simona played against Muga. Keys only knows to hit the ball hard and has no plan B.
