  1. Hey, Always! This is said without any disrespect at all, but how old are you? If you didn't live through those times, this is extremely, and sadly, accurate. This is how it really was in those days. I'm in my late 40s and remember it well. As a matter of fact, GH's HIV/AIDS story the same year twisted my arm into remaining a virgin before I came out as a lesbian. I was terrified of dying. I think we all were.
  2. Some people are saying there are no longer any surprises after two months. This was certainly a sexy, pleasant surprise! Speaking of sexy, who here would have rathered a scene with Chelsea and company getting down instead of Derelict and Ashley?
  3. No worries. Some ignorant straight put everyone in one box, and it gets me mad. I mean think of Natasha Lyonne in "But I'm a Cheerleader," and that's me, lol.
  4. As a girly-girl femme lesbian, I take offense to this. Gender expression and sexual orientation are two different things.
  5. Like when Nicole told Vanessa that she and Doug used to have a great sex life, and that they can find a way for him to give her what she needs in bed. Suddenly, the scene jumps to Doug telling Joey that he "doesn't have the right skills." I mean, that HAD to be on purpose, right?
  6. Tamara was born as late as 1959! And, she doesn't even look her age. She is far from the age of the Supremes - I picture the Articulettes more as En Vogue, both in style and when they were popular. They were more glamorous and mature than contemporaries like TLC, Jade, and Xscape. Though, the name still screams early 60s Phil Spector girl group.
  7. Lol. Don't get me started. Good! I thought it was just me. I don't see Ryan Chamberlain. I see Kevin Collins doing a Sonny Corinthos impression. And, don't EVEN get me started on Cady...
  8. It's also gross that Nicole gives her newly-appointed BFF Vanessa grace and understanding for being a cheater, when she has seen what Bill's cheating has done to Dani. Same can be said about Andre being understanding with Ted, as he watches Dani drinking herself to death. Let's see how Nicole handles being in Dani's and Doug's shoes. Hmmmm... Reva and Josh?
  9. One of Pam's huge misfires... Question for you all: What other misfires (besides firing long-standing vets, which was mostly Kobe) has Pam made as a writer? I thought she was mostly great, but there are some turkeys on rewatch. Opinions?
  10. Actually, his second tenure is when I think the wheels fell off. It was morose and I thought dull (GL at the time was sparking) with all of his tropes on full display...throwing in a "socially relevant" storyline does not make a show good (i.e. all the Snyder boys horning after boring Angel Lange who was raped by her dad...)If I heard one more person talk about relationship "honesty" or "therapy" ..... Carolyn Crawford put a stain on his name for me.
  11. I was just wondering if anyone knew where those "vault" files were for Guiding Light on here. I have a whole evening to myself and I want to indulge in some GL nostalgia! Thanks in advance, y'all!!
  12. That would only work if they revealed that Michelle was biologically Fletcher's child.
  13. Like Pam Long did when she created Reva and completely reinvented the show?
  14. So, I guess I wanted more about the context of the culture of the early eighties, and how that impacted production, as opposed to the character history of Reena's first husband Kevin. So far, I'm getting too much stuff about the characters, and not enough background on what influenced the writing choices. But on to the next half... I read the whole thing, and I wholeheartedly agree. I'm 46 and didn't see it in its original run, but I was really curious about all the BTS stuff like you are. I mean, giving a storyline by storyline breakdown was not really interesting and certainly didn't push me to watch the show's run on YouTube. Honestly, I wanted to learn more about how Texas influenced 1980s Guiding Light, which I have fond memories of growing up with.
  15. When my mother and I met the Four Musketeers at So Long, Springfield, I shouted "I love you," as we prepared to take a picture. MOL, without missing a beat says, "Thank you, but what about these other guys?"
  16. I just have to put this here. I wonder what Harley Jane Kozak means by this: "I am such a poor interview because I have no bad memories of Texas. I’ve got nothing salacious to say. Now if I was asked about Guiding Light that is another story."
  17. But, it should be said that Kimberley Simms gave Mindy much more depth after taking over from Krista (Tesreau, ex-Mindy), and matured the character. I can see Marcy as the next step in that progression.
  18. No problem. I mean, I don't want to demonize someone I don't know. I'm just offering another perspective. Judi (Evans, ex-Beth) seems to think very highly of him, and she has been candid about her off-screen issues with others.
  19. What do you all think of Marcy as a Mindy recast at that time? You should watch Signy's interview on the Locher Room and hear what she said about him! Strangely, Locher, ever the P&G PR man, let her talk and didn't edit the conversation. Now, I'm a huge Lujack fan and AMC'S David Hayward fan, but she swayed me from being a VI fan. "Where is the son that you ever gave him?" Yikes! Who talks like that? Yes, I frequent Datalounge...
  20. She's great! I was lucky enough to meet her one time at a fan event.
  21. I thought he would have been great with Hillary Bauer, his "Nightingale." I never bought him with Claire and I couldn't see Hills with Jim. Jim and Claire could go back to the lab and be boring together.
