  1. That's my mother's name. What is wrong with it?
  2. Tomas probably feels concerned about Kat's welfare and doesn't want to let her down after her giving herself to him. He feels that if it doesn't work out, she will regret what she has done. He's actually a good guy. He could have slept with Eva that day she came onto him, but he didn't, and you know he has blue balls by now with Kat. Also, he didn't know Kat was there and he still refused. He really seems to care about Kat and has a heart. Then again, his actions as Bill's spy say otherwise...however, I don't think he would intentionally hurt women on his own or without a carrot dangled in front of him (like a potential partnership). Or... Tomas DOES have feelings for Eva and is trying to spare Kat any extra heartache if they do not work out and he eventually ends up with her sister.
  3. Or, the Duprees are worse than we thought...
  4. This whole storyline is giving me David Grant flashbacks, except he wasn't rich, he was middle class, so he ran in the same situation.
  5. Yeah, not a good look on "No Kings" week.
  6. You mean the probable racist f*ck? But, honestly, do they have a choice since there is no tangible history to play on? They had to make artificial backstories or there would be no plot moving forward. And, tbf, even decades-running soaps create artificial backstories for long-established characters all the time (especially when it comes to children that they never knew they had, or back-from-the-dead plots).
  7. I think this is what they are trying to do with Derek/Ashley/Andre/Dani. It's not working. I wish they gave us more time to root for Chadison. They needed a obstacle or two so we would have time to really relish their chemistry and cheer them on.
  8. Who can Derek be paired with?
  9. Team Derek for sure, but my straight friend is Team Ashley, saying, "No man will force me into marriage if I'm not ready." Well, what is she waiting for?
  10. Honestly, I still enjoy everything about the show (except Ashley).
  11. She might be using Anita like she planned to do before. If so, I suspect Tracy is not in on it. I'm not sure if this was revealed yet - I didn't watch 6/11 yet.
  12. Love this! You are both adorable. Wow
  13. Totally here for Anita dumping Sharon in the past for first Dante Green, and then Vernon...
  14. I feel bad for judging a child, but, to be fair, she's over 40 now. My daughter was into Halloweentown when it reran on the Disney Channel in the 2010s. I wasn't impressed then, either.
  15. I remember thinking that he was fantastic after Reva's 1990 "death," with his grief and attempted relationship with Harley. I also remember the cute Marah, not the toothy chick from Halloweentown.
  16. That is fair, but I just want to see something dramatic and messy (like another poster mentioned). Plus, we know and like Kat, Jacob, and Naomi, so it would be more interesting. Hayley was already a homewrecker when we met her, and her limited backstory was all exposition. As far as young love, I would have Tyrell fall for the daughter or son of a rival congressman/woman of Martin's. Try a classic soap opera Romeo and Juliet story with a DC twist.
  17. I would make Jan, Ashley's mom, Anita and Vernon's maid. It would lock in to why Leslie would choose to befriend both her and Mona. It also gives Ashley a connection to the Duprees and explains how she befriended Naomi. I would have had Derek start the show as a cop to explain his connection to Jacob. Kat needs to realize that she is MADE to be a detective. Have her go through police training, making the appropriate comments about the uniform along the way. Have her prove she is so much more than a rich princess, even to herself. Then, when Jacob's partner is proven to be dirty, Kat is assigned as Jacob's rookie trainee. At the same time, Naomi does finally get a case she can follow through on. Her client is a person that Jacob arrested. This puts them at odds because Jacob knows this person did it, as does Kat, but Naomi only sees the extenuating circumstances and believes he deserves a lighter sentence and a second chance. THAT is when Jacob will turn to Kat in frustration and she will lose her virginity to him.
  18. That would really just be a redux of the Leslie/Eva story. I really hope they don't go there. My guess for the storyline with Anita that we have "never seen before on daytime" is that it may be a "me, too" story. Anita did unspeakable things to get ahead because of some disgusting producer, and the other person she left behind was a boyfriend who cared about her very much.
  19. Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
  20. I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.
  21. Her accent sounds horrible and doesn't fit in line with the character or the dialogue. I was just messing around on YouTube and perusing early Tad and Dixie videos. Notably, Dixie, a resident of Pigeon Hollow, West Virginia, has no discernible accent. i have no idea why she would add a defunct accent to this character now. I want to do an honest survey here. I watch BTG every day and I love it. It's not perfect, but I find it 99% entertaining. For those that find fault with it - what is actually bothering you? I'm not going to argue at all, or disagree with you. I just want to know what others are seeing that I'm not.
  22. I said the same thing about Dani Dupree. That's when you know the writing is good because a complex character has been written that can be taken in multiple different ways.
  23. Leslie was crying today after Eva left the apartment.
