So it looks like Theresa really is going to prison. I highly doubt Andrew is going to be able to get her off those legal charges, especially since I don't see E.J. giving her a plea deal, so the best thing he might be able to do is to have her serve her prison sentence in California. Also I don't think she's going to spend as much time in prison as people think she should; if she does actually go to prison, she might end up staying there for at least five years. Also, what was the point of that anecdote that Andrew mentioned to Theresa about him crashing his dad's car and her taking the blame for it? And after all of that, Theresa is just going to let Tate date Holly now? Wow, talk about sucking out all the drama there... Ron really was burnt out, wasn't he?

I'm actually glad that Theresa didn't get instant forgiveness from Maggie, Alex and Brady and they are all still pretty upset at her. However, I'll admit that I was shocked that she is actually going to turn herself into the police and that's the most mature and selfless thing that she's ever done in this entire stint. I just hope Ron doesn't completely screw it up next week at the last minute. Maybe, just maybe, if Theresa actually goes to prison for a while and pays her dues to society, she could still be somewhat salvaged as a character and she might have a fighting chance of being a viable character again. Even if she and Brady never have a chance in hell of getting back together ever again, maybe if she actually proves that she's truly changed to be a better person, perhaps someday she'll find true, lasting love with a guy that will love her, warts and all.

Can I also mention how disgusted I was that Theresa threatened to cry rape again when Xander grabbed her arm and refused to let her go? That woman really isn't human as far as I'm concerned; she has no real feelings for anyone other than herself. So it's not really that surprising that she's deciding to turn herself in not because she actually feels bad for the crimes that she's committed, but because she knows deep down that she has nowhere else to go and she has no choice but to turn herself in. I have a bad feeling that Andrew's probably going to bail her out at the last possible moment. I will never understand why Ron refuses to let anyone suffer any real consequences on this show; it's beyond annoying and irritating.

Nah, whatever story potential Theresa had is pretty much gone at this point. Her life is pretty much over at this point. No one is going to want anything to do with her and if she ends up getting a serious criminal record, hardly any place of employment would even want to hire her. Days is better off ditching her completely and replacing her with Andrew, who is a much more interesting and compelling character than her and with a lot more story potential. I just wish that he wasn't covering for his sister so much. And I also wouldn't blame Tate if he completely washes his hands of his mother and wants nothing to do with her ever again. I hope Brady gets out of his dumb funk soon and realizes that Theresa was definitely not worth throwing away his sobriety for.

DAYS: Our hopes for the new HW’s
I would hope that the writers start cutting out all of the unnecessary deadweight like Leo, Alex, Connie, Stefan, Gwenresa, Ava, and Bonnie. I also hope that they start phasing out the DiMeras by getting rid of Stefan and Kristen and only keep Chad, E.J. and Johnny around regularly. Kristen and Megan, (and probably Dimitri), should only pop in to cause trouble every now and then. They also need to start rebuilding the Hortons by bringing back as many of them as possible including Will, Allie, Jeremy, Nathan, Melissa, J.J., Eli, etc., and if they do bring Jeremy back, I hope they actually acknowledge what Jeremy did to Stephanie all of those years ago and don't try to sweep it under the rug and they also give Jeremy an actual proper redemption arc if that's their intention. The one thing that Ron actually did right was add in more diversity so I would hope the new writers continue that. I would hope that they keep the Carver/Grant/Price clan and they also keep Andrew and all of the other gay characters around. Maybe they could also bring Jada's sister Talia back at some point but it would also be okay if they ultimately didn't do that. I would also hope that the writers leave characters like Everett, Gwen/Theresa and Leo far behind in the past and none of those characters are seen or heard from again.

I'm glad that Theresa was exposed today. Too bad Andrew didn't take the initiative to have her turned in to the proper authorities; I honestly don't know what he was thinking when he demanded that she turn herself in. We all know that woman doesn't have a single hint of decency in her bones and she is nothing more than a greedy, opportunistic coward. I won't be surprised if Xander gets her to confess the rest of her crimes later on. I hope at some point we get to see Brady and Tate react to Theresa's scheme being exposed because otherwise I'm going to feel cheated.

The Politics Thread
If Trump wins and he succeeds in implementing Project 2025, I don't stand a chance in hell in surviving his regime. I'm not only disabled but I also have some physical and mental health issues that makes fighting a fascist regime extremely unlikely. I hope that if possible I get the opportunity to flee this country to someplace better but I don't think that's possible, especially since there aren't a whole lot of countries that will allow in people with disabilities. I also have a lot of old and sick relatives in my family that I'm worried about potentially leaving behind, and that's the last thing I want to do. I may have to prepare myself for the possibility that I may be shipped off to a concentration camp along with hundreds of thousands of other people and I may die there. Anyways, I wish Kamala Harris the absolute best of luck because she's going to need it especially since she's going to be facing a serious uphill battle for the next couple of months. I hope that I am actually wrong and she actually has what it takes to beat Trump because we need a miracle that will save our democracy from certain doom.

DAYS: Head Writer Ron Carlivati Departing Peacock Soap After Seven Years
You want to go ahead and laugh at me? Go right ahead. I don't care. Then again, who knows? Maybe in about five years Theresa might come back as an Onlyfans model/social media influencer because that is pretty much the only job that might accept her at this rate, especially with her having burned so many bridges in town. Then again, they do tend to make a crapload of money, so perhaps she might be okay if she works hard and plays her cards right. Also in this line of work, she might even be lucky enough to marry a handsome and wealthy guy who's willing to take care of her and she'll be all set for the rest of her life.

That's how I feel too. If we're so willing and prepared to throw away our freedoms and rights that easily, then maybe we do deserve to live in a fascist dictatorship. Maybe seeing millions of people suffering and dying under the hands of a Cristofascist regime might be the thing that finally opens people's eyes and gets them to see exactly what we have lost. But by then it will be way too late. Then again, maybe Trump's victory is inevitable and it's only a matter of time before our democracy finally crumbles and millions of people are completely wiped out. At least by that point I won't have to worry about continuing to live on this hellish earth anymore. It's going to take a miracle for Kamala Harris to win and I'm not even sure if that's in the cards.

The Politics Thread
I am really shocked that this happened. I didn't think that Biden was actually going to do it and he was just going to keep on ignoring the naysayers, but the fact that he did really doesn't bode well for the Democrats and for us as a whole. My nagging feeling that this is basically a repeat of 2016 is intensifying even more with this latest turn of events and if the Democrats move ahead with Kamala Harris as their nominee, I won't be surprised if Trump wins. Then again, I guess the Democrats are screwed anyway no matter what they do now. Hilary Clinton couldn't even beat Trump back in 2016, so what makes anybody think that Kamala has a chance in hell of beating him? Not to mention that the political climate has gotten so much worse this time around and I can't help but think that there are a whole lot of people that would be more than willing to throw away their freedoms and rights away forever if it meant preventing a Black woman from getting into the Oval Office. I really would advise starting making exit plans as soon as possible because this is only going to get much worse from here and I truly believe that we're seeing our democracy fading and withering away in real time. If you guys still want to vote, that's fine by me, but personally I really don't think it's going to make that much of a difference at this point. Even if Kamala Harris somehow wins the election, and that's a very big IF, there is no guarantee that Donald Trump doesn't have some kind of back-up plan that's going to allow him to steal the presidency from right underneath her nose. One way or another, he's getting back in the White House and everyone needs to start preparing themselves.

DAYS: Head Writer Ron Carlivati Departing Peacock Soap After Seven Years
A successful businesswoman? Are we SERIOUSLY talking about the same character here? The very same woman who is so lazy and inept with absolutely no desire to work and only wants to marry a rich, wealthy guy so that she can spend all his money on all kinds of junk? The same woman who couldn't even keep her own fashion company going because of bad investments? LOL! Don't make me laugh! I'm not naive, I'm being realistic here. I want better for female characters on this soap but it's pretty obvious that is never going to happen because these writers are just going to keep on perpetuating the same old tired tropes every single time and they are going to keep on writing for a certain subset of viewers that refuse to change with the times. And I highly doubt that's ever going to change. And at this point I'm not even going to hold my breath and wait for it to happen.

DAYS: Head Writer Ron Carlivati Departing Peacock Soap After Seven Years
Well most if not all characters on this soap have been paired up with somebody in one way or another and if you want to have any kind of longevity or viability on this show, you need to be in a popular pairing or at the very least have some kind of purpose. Otherwise there is no point. This is a show that is based on supercouples. Sami was a schemer too but that didn't exactly stop her from landing two very successful pairings in Lucas and E.J. Maybe if the writers haven't damaged Theresa so much as a character, maybe she might still be viable enough for a pairing but since she really isn't anymore, then the only thing left for her to do is to spend the next 10 to 20 years interfering in her son's relationships just like Kate did and that's basically it for her. There's nothing else for her anyway.

Not for at least another 5 years. I don't want these writers to bring her back unless they have a real plan for her. If they want to continue to write her as a scheming gold-digger, then write her as one. But if they actually want her to be a loving but flawed mom, then write her as one. They need to pick a lane and stick with it because they can't have it both ways. Also, who is she even going to be paired up with? Brady is never going to want anything to do with her and neither will Alex. If Theresa continues to be a gold-digger, I can definitely see her gravitating towards the DiMeras and setting her sights on E.J., but I don't know how long her and E.J. are even going to last.

They weren't just horribly written; their characters were also pretty awful. At any rate, I won't be surprised if most if not all of them end up getting the boot. Then we can finally bring back characters that actually belong on the show and have a real purpose and are also beloved by fans.

DAYS: Head Writer Ron Carlivati Departing Peacock Soap After Seven Years
Wow, I honestly never thought that this day would come. Thank God he's finally gone! Anyways, I'm cautiously optimistic about the new head-writers and I do hope things at Days improve, but then again, Patrick Mulcahey came out of retirement to return to GH again, and look what happened... So since Ron is gone I think we're probably going to see the end of BenAlex, Leo and maybe Ava and Bonnie. Also I hope this means that Emily O'Brien will never come back as either Gwen or Theresa in any capacity ever again! I hope both characters disappear into the ether and are never mentioned ever again. I definitely think Stephanie is safe because she's a legacy character and Jada might also stick around because she's one of Ron's few creations that has actually worked out pretty well. I also hope that the new headwriters don't actually get rid of all of the gay and Black characters because that diversity needs to be maintained along with some actual good storytelling. I also noticed that Cwickly was writing during the height of Brady/Chloe's prime so I'm expecting for that couple to possibly be revisited again, which is fine by me. I'm not really a big fan of those two but Brady desperately needs to settle down and fans have been begging for a permanent Broe reunion for many years now. Also if Alex is gone, I hope Stephanie ends up with Philip too.

DAYS: July 2024 Discussion Thread
Oh yeah, she is definitely owed a major apology for the way she's been treated through this whole stint. And I really hope that if Days asks her to resume filming again in the near future, she just tells them to screw off. How much you want to bet it's probably just another short 3-6 month stint and then Ron will just toss her aside again when he's done and bored with her, (assuming she's going to play Theresa again; if it's Gwen, I think it's going to be much more long term).
-
DAYS: July 2024 Discussion Thread
You never know; they might still go with Brady/Chloe as the ultimate endgame. But if that's the case, then who is going to be Philip's endgame? I feel like it should be Stephanie but I don't know if their current actors are going to have any amount of chemistry with each other. Then again I could also be fine with Belle since I feel like she and Shawn are pretty much played out and they need to have a long if not permanent separation. Shawn might actually work with Talia. Speaking of which, I hope Talia comes back at some point, even if it's a recast. She hasn't really done anything so horrible compared to other characters that she can't come back in the distant future. I actually would have Theresa and Kristen killed off permanently because they are pretty much both played out and they're basically both irredeemable psychos. I am also well aware that Theresa is a legacy character but she is so extremely despised and hated by so many fans across the board that it's not just worth it to keep her on the canvas long term and if I were the head-writer, I would cut my losses and just have her killed off permanently. I would then replace her with both Andrew and a resurrected Paige because I always felt like killing off Paige was a colossal mistake and she still had some potential left. Plus it pretty much limited a lot of story potential with Eve, especially now that she's practically in her 60's, (I think she probably is; I don't know, my math skills are awful; lol). Even if Paige doesn't ultimately get back together with J.J., she could be potentially paired up with other male characters her age and she would also be a great asset at the hospital since I recall that she was studying to be a med student. Also with Kristen dead, Rachel can go live with Brady permanently and maybe she might still have a chance to grow up to be a somewhat decent human being.

DAYS: July 2024 Discussion Thread
I highly doubt Theresa is going to stick around because based on next week's spoilers it looks like that Theresa may be preparing to leave town again. Which is fine by me because viewers as a whole need a long break from this character. I certainly do. Besides, the whole town is going to be pissed at her and want nothing to do with her and not even her son will want anything to do with her. I agree with this wholeheartedly. Maybe if Brady and Chloe hadn't split up when they did, they probably would still be together by now and they also would have had kids of their own. Maybe Tate and/or Parker would've been their offspring together. Brady would've been better off in the long run and so would Chloe.

That right there is the main fundamental problem with Ericole and that is one of the main reasons why I don't even like them anymore. Also Nicole and Eric look really bad leading on their other love interests into thinking that they're going to be with them for the long haul when that's not even the case.
