  1. Going back to OLTL vs AMC debate I thought the erratic recasting and constant rotation of EPs and head writers ultimately deterred the quality of OLTL AMC was pretty much consistent from a quality point of view With that being said OLTL was able to take more chances with their storytelling because of that lack of consistency Some of the storylines were entertaining and some were a dud I thought Hunt Block was fine, but like Susan Lucci he is better at the comedic material than the drama
  2. I thought Dave Kriezman was decent his first couple of years on Guiding Light He breathed new life into a stale institution, but no matter how great the head writer is you can't get past the hurdles of backstage politics and a limited budget
  3. I felt OLTL took more risks with their storytelling compared to AMC.
  4. Susan Lucci was overrated . She could do light/comedic material but I thought she struggled with the heavier/dramatic material Roger's Paul Ryan was awesome, but you could tell he was bored of the role towards the end of his run.
  5. Dicuss The Two Todds storyline was the last great OLTL storyline
  6. Wow I wasn't watching during the period so this is surprising to me
  7. I didn't remember Sean Donnelly and Monica interacting a lot That's why it seemed odd she was at the memorial service
  8. She was decent from what I remember and the lack of clips come from her not being on the show that long
  9. Daytime soaps tend to do soft reboots with the change in head writers Bringing a cancelled soap back from the dead and rebooting that's a different story
  10. I agree it was a good move for Bo and Clint not to have a JR and Bobby type of relationship
  11. It seems like the 98 daytime Emmy's do not exist Clips are few and far between
  12. Submissions for categories seemed based on tenure I suppose that's one of the reasons the younger category was created to offset some of the bias
  13. Interesting What do you think about the Buchanan family on OLTL and their Dallas influence? I can see the comparisons between JR and Abby. They were both super smart and used sex as a weapon.
  14. Would you consider Greg Sumner the JR Ewing of Knots Landing?
  15. I don’t remember Craig Montgomery interacting with Lily and Holden
  16. On OLTL Todd Manning and Asa Buchanan were supposed to be these big rivals, but I don’t remember the characters interacting a lot.
  17. I don’t recall Erica Kane and The Hubbards interacting a lot
  18. I agree a superstar in the making
  19. I always thought Lane Davies would have made a great Craig Montgomery
  20. She’s gorgeous I looked at a recent video clip of her on YouTube, and even with the gray hair she still looks hot
  21. I remember Michael Zaslow saying that TPTB wanted to recast him as Alan Spaulding for his initial return The idea was nixed, but it would have been interesting to see his take on the role
