BTG: May 2026 Discussion Thread
original release date: Thursday, May 14, 2026 | writers: Jamey Giddens, Jazmen Darnell Brown | director: Anthony Pascarelli Thoughts: Love seeing Anita in such high and positive spirits. It is long overdue. And knowing that Vernon is ready for some sexy time with his wife is the icing on the cake. Nothing wrong with taking an earlier appointment if it is available. It is a shame that Francesca and Anastasia have made Samantha feel less like a Dupree. So unfortunate. And speaking of the Satans themselves. I really do wish Vanessa would spend some more time mourning Douglas' death. It is clear it still weighs heavy on her, which is understandable. Grief is not linear nor does it have a timetable. Mona! Been such a while since we have seen you! Chessy is as ugly and nasty as you, Anastasia, and I hope that she falls on her damn face during cotillion... or that she gets her period in her white dress. Karma will get her. Get her, Nicole. Get her! Lose every ounce of restraint and give it to Anastasia. Imagine calling both Samantha and Tyrell 'strays'. Displaying her biological fundamentalist views. Disgusting. Mona, what the Hell is going on with you? Whew... judgmental as Hell. Truly. Whew, Joey. You are going way too overboard when it comes to Vanessa trying to help find Heather. Crossed the damn line. Very honest discussions are happening with Dr. Bauer. Very heavy-handed, but it needs to be done. So glad that Donnell's term is going well at Banneker. That is such a positive thing to hear. Well, at least Anastasia is aware she does not have class. That is one step in the right direction to dissolving her presence in Fairmont Crest. I am glad that Anita was able to choose the path of treatment that felt best for her and did not let fear of anything stop her from making it. Diamond cufflinks? Trying to win Vanessa's affections back, I see. Good on Donnell for turning them down. Smart fella. What a sweet sentiment by Mona. A genuine great idea that could really help those going through what Anita had gone through, whether they follow religion or not. Samantha can totally handle her own against Francesca, and it is nice to see. A true Dupree. Donnell is a good man. And it shows his character going to Joey to apologise, even though he did not need to. Carissa did not want to be a deb, huh? That sounds... interesting. Maybe she could pop around and take the reigns with her daughter! Notes: Well, we made it three days before an inconsistent episode came. The flow was not there. At all. But thankfully, we had Brown's excellent dialogue to help us along. It is just a shame he keeps being paired with the worst of the worst. I like that despite Anita's chemotherapy being concluded, her journey does not end. More intense conversations and decisions are to be had, and I am glad we are not shying away from telling them as truthfully as possible. Lauren Buglioli (Vanessa) continues to turn out stellar performances. One of the best finds this soap has.

Uhm, she never identified as lesbian. She identified as sexually fluid.

Another good episode. Loving Vico Escorcia as Arianna; a much-improved recast from her predecessor. Absolutely. Hopefully the momentum stays up as we go into the next week of May Sweeps period.

Joshua f**king Morrow. WOW! Seriously, his best work since Cassie's death is being done in this storyline, and it's really making me verklempt watching him. I know he's not interested in the Daytime Emmys, but whew... I'd love for him to take a chance again, because he has been doing some award-worthy work.

The scarred face was done already in the past ten years with Maura West's Ava Jerome and it was done better then than it is being done now, both in terms of story and makeup.

At least it wasn't like General Hospital where Maxie and Peter drove from Port Charles, New York, to Switzerland in the same night. 🤣

For Days of Our Lives, let's count that as a blessing. Salem University Hospital (if it can even be called that) is not the place I would want to be treated out of the five American soaps. It would be last on my damn list.

Outside of the AI storyline, the story roots are there right now for The Young and the Restless, but things are just not... pushed enough. Visually, they're on it.

Exactly. Again, I attribute this to Noel, who I feel like has a vision as EP. Whereas it felt like Janet was just sticking her finger up her backside and hoping something would stick.

Ridge and Steffy are beyond insufferable. Ugh. Wish they'd both leave and never come back. And Steffy can take Liberty Biberty with her.

BTG: May 2026 Discussion Thread
original release date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 | writers: Sara A. Bibel, Cheryl L. Davis | director: Steven Williford Thoughts: Good on Naomi for calling out Bill for his sexist views of what Ashley may or may not be doing in reference to her breakup with Grayson. I love that Vanessa loves the glow that Nicole has and that their friendship seems to be right back on track. Oh Dana. You are not going out to dinner. You will be eating in with Ted and Izaiah, so get whatever plan you had in your head out of it. Not the "like mother, like daughter" comment and how it always comes back to Dani shooting up Bill and Hayley's wedding. 🤣 Hayley, I did not know you were capable of being hurt, but it is nice seeing you wear something a bit more appropriate for the office... it is just a shame it is not during actual office hours. Of course Dana would be judgmental over Izaiah's cooking based on his physical appearance. Plus, spending money seems to be her favourite pastime, along with underhanded comments. Vanessa is on the right track and I am in agreement with her. Nicole's thoughts of Ted during her initial romantic interlude with Carlton mean more than she is letting on. I love that, despite trying to have a drink with Bill and Hayley, she cannot help herself by making some shade at Hayley's involvement at the law firm. Tomas is playing it smart: to get what he wants, he needs to give a little to get the information he needs. I just hope he gives the right bit to Bradley. This is why I do not like speakerphone multiway calls. They are overstimulating as Hell. Not the 'hospital ho'. Ha. Ted gifting Eva all of these gifts for her birthdays of the past is just beautiful. I will not divulge information, but I have done the same thing for Christmas and birthdays of the past. That is right, Nicole; feel yourself quiver at the sight of a sweaty, post-workout Ted. I know there is another workout you are likely thinking of. Time number two, Izaiah has let the 'L' word slip from his mouth. SECOND! Vanessa is way too hospitable to dismiss Dana at the country club and Dana is way too dumb-witted to not realise Vanessa is not interested in hearing about any of this. GET IT, NICOLE! Thinking about a very public hookup with your ex at the country club! WOW! That was hot! Thank goodness that Eva feels the same way. That could have been very, very awkward! Notes: Another day of outstanding script work by Bibel and Davis. A third consecutive day of hitting it out of the park. More great story and character movement, which I do love seeing happen. I like seeing both Chelsea and Naomi connect with the respective parent they are meant to be more imitative of. Great. Daphnée Duplaix is stunning but her current wig is just not right for her. It is too flat; her previous hairstyle had more body and felt more realistic and natural. That macaroni and cheese looked both cheesy and dry at the same time, which is not how I like my macaroni and cheese, but overall the flavour palette sounds delicious. Kudos to close captions for appropriately spelling 'ho' the right way. People spelling it 'hoe' are misspelling it in the context and it is very irksome to me. The onscreen graphics are amazing; I do not use social media like most, but I do like that they have what I assume are realistic templates for these live presentations.

The Rosales family really could have had substantial legs, but yes, their introduction was at rapid speed. By the time Mia came in, that should have been when Rey was introduced. They speed-ran the introductions of Lola and Rey.
