That's true. Nina drove many storylines after Phillip's death (1989). But after David Kimble's death and the end of Kay-Jill-Rex triangle (1991), Jeanne Cooper was left without anything considerable to do on the show. Kay was happily married to rex, Jill was trying to tie the knot with Victor (eventually he rejected her and she resumed her relationship with John, that led to a new wedding and Billy's birth) and Nina was having great sex with hot Ryan McNeil (they eventually became a couple and got married). In 1993 Jeanne Cooper was about to leave YR and move to ATWT, but Douglas Marland's sudden death changed her plans. When Kay Alden became headwriter in 1998, things improved for Kay and Jill. They had again something in common. The feud about the ownership of the mansion and then about Billy and Mac's love.

YR Bill Bell was a wonderful and gifted storyteller, but he did some mistakes killing off young characters who could have provided more future storylines involving relatives and persons close to them. Like Phillip Chancellor III, Jill's biological son and Katherine's temporary son (she was his legal guardian for a while and she loved him dearly). And like Robert, son of Nikki and Jack Abbott, who died soon after his birth in 1993.

Just read the last part, thanks. So in 1980 she chose Lance's well-being and his leading position at Prentiss Industries instead of her own happiness in love. Ironically 2 years later Lance lost the company due to a Lorie's mistake. She was played by Victor. Eventually she managed to give the company back to Lance. Her last love gift to him before leaving Genoa City.

Ciao! I thought the same, that the blond was Leslie in disguise due to her amnesia. If those scenes are from december 1979, 10 months of full episodes aired in Italy before that promo. So I suppose italian episodes started from US february 1979 episodes (just right when Melody Thomas Scott debuted as Nikki).

If John McCook as Lance Prentiss appeared for the last time in may 1980, these scenes should be early 1980. I wonder why Lance and Lorie were having a so heated argument. He seems very upset and she seems very sad in the last gif.

Must be after she moved in with him, before the end of 1992. I know for sure that until august 1992 episodes there were two other dubbers for the characters. In the clip Victoria declares her endless love to Ryan. Victor is talking with Jack and believes that Victoria has made the biggest mistake of her life. Jack thinks Ryan genuinely cares for her.

I've got other missing episodes in english (since 2008) and I'll upload them gradually. I uploaded in italian full 9-2-2003 and the first half 9-3-2003. And a 1992 clip (I guess autumn) about Ryan and Victoria. In Italy 1993 episodes didn't air in the original form. Many scenes were cut out. From july 1998 to march 1999 the tv network aired all Us 1993 episodes with a daily lenght of about 25-30 minutes and many scenes removed. Then, in march 1999 there was the time jump to catch up Us programming (november 1998) and the italian BB programming. No more scenes cut out. The YR/BB cross-over about Brooke's Bedroom (it aired in april and may) was pretty advertised by the press. They even bothered to do some tv promos.

The beginning of Adam's revenge againt the Newmans and the father who decided to dismiss him and banish him from his home and his life. Most of my YR italian clips/episodes are already present in the vault in the form of the original english episodes uploaded by others. I do have all 2006 episodes and all september 2003 in very good video quality, some random episodes/clips from 1999 to 2005, some 1992-93 stuff. I've got hundreds and hundreds of BB episodes (1993-2004) (most of them still in VHS, some stuff digitalized years ago) and on DVDs from 2004 episodes. But, luckily, in the BB YT official channel they are uploading season after season in english.

Thank you for your caring and for your continuous efforts to make things work out. You are a blessing. A backup vault is a great idea. I've been collecting many episodes from different soaps, too. I won't probably find the time to watch all of them, so much stuff. But it's a good thing saving episodes on time, before they disappear (especially YR and Days, the S0ny soaps). More copies exist, more can always be shared sooner or later.

What he did was invaluable: the vault is a gold mine for soap fans. I'm forever grateful to him and to the others, like you, who have spent time and energy to upload so many upisodes. I uploaded some YR ep and I was gonna upload the missing september 2008 episodes (including Billy Miller's first appearance as Billy Abbott). Until a few days ago I could watch and download episodes, but the uploading didn't work out at all. Now the vault is gone. It keeps saying 'unavailable due to too many anonymous link requests'

This is - probably - the first OLTL italian promo (the soap started in October 1982 at 3 pm). In the promo there are Bo and Pat having a romantic dinner, and then Judith Light as Karen. I guess the year is 1980. According to an italian site about tv shows, OLTL in Italy started - probably - from 1979 Us episodes. After watching this clip, I have some doubts about that. It aired from february 1986 to may 1992. For some years one full episode from monday to friday at 3,30 PM after All my children. Then half episode a day from monday to saturday in morning slots. It was cancelled just right before the beginning of Marland Years (autumn 1985). I guess it started around 1982 or early 1983 Us episodes. While GL was popular in Italy, ATWT had a smaller audience and was less covered by the press. Maybe there were so many soaps and telenovelas in daytime at the time, so the competition was too strong, especially when the tv network that broadcasted the show didn't bother to do any kind of good publicity to gain new viewers. The first one is a may 1985 episode. Marisa Tomei said it in a line.

Silvio Berlusconi died. Lots of pictures of his life as television entrepreneur are emerging these days. One caught my attention. Settled in the hall of his main tv station near Milan, it shows a row of televisions (on his tv networks). One of them was broadcasting The Young and the Restless (I guess the woman is K.T. Stevens, who played Vanessa Prentiss). The photo was taken in early 1986 at 7,40 pm. At the time YR in Italy was 4 years and half behind US.

Thanks a lot! I agree with you. After some rough months to fix things and storylines, the show started to really improve around july 2008. In the aftermath of David and Sabrina'deaths the writing became more consistent. The early months written by MAB and Hogan Sheffer were promising. The scene in Mexico where Nikki moumed Victor's presumed death hearing their song Looking throught the eyes of love in spanish and then she tried to relief her pain drinking her first vodka after 16 years of sobriety was so touching and played well.
