This episode marks the return of Pam Long as head writer in 1987. She breaks up Josh and Reva. But gone is the Reva who tried to commit suicide (under a different head writer.) This episode below has Pam Long bringing back the OLD Reva, as she gets herself made up, dons her classic red dress, and crashes a party at the Blue Orchid. Reva says upon her entrance, "Strike up the band! Reva Shayne's back, better than ever." This episode is where Pam Long pairs up Reva and Alan. And Reva SLAPS Josh. Enjoy!

This is the ultimate showdown! Alexandra Spaulding vs. Reva Shayne. Two of the greatest characters created by Pam Long have a supreme face-off in this scene. This scene features two of the best actresses on daytime, Beverlee McKinsey and Kim Zimmer. This scene is one of the first episodes penned by Pam Long when she returned as head writer of the show. Enjoy!

If you are talking about 1991 - both Grant Alexander & Michael O'Leary elected to leave the show on their own accord. With Beth Chamberlain, Pam Long felt it would cheat the audience to split up Phillip & Beth, yet again. Pam opted to write a happy ending for Phillip & Beth, and write them off together.

Hi, I'm looking for a video that featured the character "Francois The Tailor"—according to IMDb, the character appeared in episodes dated Dec 10, 2008 & Apr 3, 2009. But he is nowhere featured in those episodes. Does anyone remember his storyline from 2008/2009? Maybe he was involved in a wedding? If anyone remembers this character, his storyline, and which characters he interacted with, then maybe I can track down his episode. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Clint Ritchie was furious on how they turned his character into a homophobe and was actually seeking legal advice to terminate his contract. But then he got into that accident, and was off-screen for months. Which allowed Viki & Sloane to continue their romance. But threw a wrench into the storyline of Sloane dying, and Viki returning to Clint. So they convinced Roy Thinnes to sign a new contract and keep the Sloane/Viki pairing until Clint Ritchie could return to the show

They cast the role so last minute - then they gave him five scripts to memorize and he had to recite all this legal jargon, as they were filming all his scenes from five episodes in one massive filming. As they cast him so late, he felt there was just no way he was going to pull this off (filming all his scenes from 5 shows in one day) - so he dropped out, as he felt it was impossible.

Two reasons for the breakup: #1) Grant Alexander made it clear he would be leaving as soon as his contract was up in 1984. #2) There were stories of friction between Grant and Judi Evans behind the scenes. Years later (when Judi was on Another World), she recounted a story, specifically saying this happened on another soap. That a certain male co-star made a lewd gesture towards her while they were running lines in his dressing room. Yes, she could be referring to someone on "Days of Our Lives," or she could be referring to someone on "Guiding Light." But Judi would later tell stories of the "toxicity" from certain co-workers on Guiding Light. Since Grant would be leaving, and allegedly he and Judi were not getting along, it made sense to split them up and pair Judi with Vincent Irrizarry. But Judi & Grant seemed to have patched things up, as they participated in an hour-long "Four Musketeers" reunion on the Locher Room. Seems to be water under the bridge after 40 years.
