  1. Tomas really needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut. It's bad enough he is sharing all of Kat's business (i.e. losing her virginity, sexual disconnect), but it's even worse since he barely knows Eva like that and Eva and Kat have a horrible relationship. Interesting that he never runs back to Kat to tell Eva's business like when Eva wanted his help with the inheritance letter. The wedding could have been fun, but it wasn't. Many scenes fall flat on this soap because you have a stronger actor attempting to prop up a much weaker one. I've said it 100 times but Freeman's acting is not it. The facial expressions and sighing just piss me off. I'm mildly interested in the outcome for Doug in this storyline, but I'm similarly curious as to how Randy is fearful of Joey knowing his whereabouts and at the same time using Orphey Gene's as his office. I thought Anita and Nicole scenes were good. I don't understand why Anita is so black and white with Ted as if her own family hasn't had some questionable moments. Sleeping with Leslie again I get, but before that I would think she would be more supportive when Nicole was showing doubts about divorcing Ted.
  2. To add to the June part, she seemed to have left on good terms with her sister the last we saw. Considering she seems to be trying to turn her life around, I thought it was weird that she said she was back at the shelter. I would think her sister would let her stay with her while she got her life together. I know every family is different and clealry there was a lot of history between them, but it just seemed like an odd choice.
  3. Jan should have been the Dupree housekeeper. It would have better connected Ashley to the canvas and explained why she knows Andre or at least recognizes him. It also would have given Leslie a stronger motive for her friendship with Jan, because she knew she could get info on the Duprees through her. I couldn't finish today's episode. I am way too tired and I knew it would be difficult to watch daily once I started work up again. But I need to say this, what in the hell was wrong with Nicole's blouse. It looked awful. It's like some inexperienced person tried to alter it and stitched it in the most awkward place. I couldn't stop staring at it. Then Mama June popping out in her early Alicia Keys headscarf. It all felt too weird.
  4. I also thought the actress playing Allison has done a good job giving us soap crazy, but while RonniRose has improved she really struggled through a lot of the kidnapping material for Chelsea. I will say she is handling the aftermath better. As for the opinions of this board, I think they are divided but I will say from my observation most feel the opposite that the actresses for Allison failed in her delivery and Chelsea rose to it or has come a long way. As for Tomas, I don't think I have seen anyone here or on any other platform say the actor is doing well. Doesn't help that the actresses playing Kat and Eva are the strongest of the young set. Yeah, they carry AA bad acting at times, but other times it further emphasizes how much work he needs.
  5. Are we getting a new set next week or did I just fail to recognize one of sets in the promo? It seems like Andre and Dani are having drinks somewhere that doesn't look like Uptown, the CC, or one of their homes.
  6. Andre tells Dani he ran into Ashley. So he's just casually roaming the hospital. I thought the documentary was over. This man needs a life or something else to do with his time.
  7. Andre: You've inspired me. You've inspired me to look outside of myself and consider the needs of others. You make me want to a better person, Ashley Morgan. Ashley: You have completely changed my perspective on life. These two barely know [!@#$%^&*] all about each other and have had the most surface level interactions - mostly consisting of blowing hot air up each other's asses. Like what the hell even is this. Can we please stop making "Golden Nurse" happen.
  8. Just watched today's episode: The whole betting thing was weird, especially the fact Bill initiated it. Bill, if anyone, should know what Ted feels being apart of the Dupree family while not a Dupree. I am glad Ted read him down. Agree to the Chelsea/Madison scene sounding like a PSA. I think the idea for this storyline is great - the whole toxic/dangerous parasocial relationships we have with "famous" influencers on social media, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.
  9. I was looking for this comment. I didn't feel bad for Ted at all. Yes, the Duprees are insufferable in their holier than thou act, but Ted did one good deed and sudeenly he runs to get the Dupree's approval. Did Ted think the family was going to tell Nicole to take him back just for that? He created this whole mess to begin with. The man didn't even have the decency to show up or send his sympathies while his niece was missing, but he had the audacity to show face in the aftermath not to support the family but to make sure they knew what he did. One good act doesn't dismiss an affair and love child. It's like we saw glimmers of old Ted when he played with Lesile, but he reverted right back to a little punk when he ran to the Duprees like a giddy school boy. Also, very confused by Eva. Yes, Leslie is her mama, but she knew that Leslie wanted that house just because it was across the street from the Duprees. I agree that Leslie should be able to live where she wants without anyone gatekeeping, but girl!!!! this is not that. Was what Ted did mean? Yeah. But Leslie is crazy. Eva herself hates the way that she upended Ted and Nicole's lives. Not that the Duprees and Bill are good people, but Leslie isn't suddenly a saint because someone played in her face like she does so well. I thought Eva was smarter than that.
  10. I, on the other hand, am fine with never seeing Allison again. Unless, it's like one last surprise attack and she's gone thereafter. I actually felt the same way about the writing for Leslie when she locked Eva out the house and discarded her as if she were nothing. It felt so cruel and ugly. Then, they played it off as Leslie doing it because she wanted to ensure that Ted gave her what she was owed. However, the writing for Leslie does give a bit of whiplash, are we supposed to believe she is a flawed, wounded person who is acting on all this hurt or is she just cray. Doesn't help that we first learn of her driving Laura off the road tho. Yes, it was all a bit ridiculous. Someone giving away their assets in the middle of a divorce seems illogical to most people. However, it did give us some good Ted energy today. I was like where has this Ted been?
  11. Tbf, I would not have thought that promos are spoilers. They were such a regular part of TV viewing not too long ago and you were bound to see it if watching live - that I never considered them as such. I guess now with streaming, it might be looked at that way. Likewise, I don't think janea meant any harm, was just informing that those posts should be left out of this thread.
  12. Feels like it belongs in a Disney live action movie.
  13. I kinda don't hate this idea. Jacob is so by the book that it would be interesting if his brother was more a bad boy and obviously Jacob seems protective of Kat so that would play into it.
  14. Ugh. Don't remind me of Chelsea's cringe flirting tactics. It was a mix of ick and poor acting that made those scenes so uncomfortable. They were trying to make Chelsea some vixen and it wasn't coming across. I also said to myself this feels like Passions at one point while watching this week. I think this is in part due to the story being underdeveloped. Many beats were not played or rushed completely. In a previous post, I mentioned how insane the reveal that Alison was never married to Craig and that she hired him just to lure Chelsea would have been if this story had enough time to stew. I feel like this story could have easily ran a year and a half with everything that happened but was rushed. I also know that BTG is probably testing and working out pacing. They are launching a soap in a very different landscape. I think because of the rush, this story feels a bit cartoonish and lacking the gravity needed to make it feel intense. It's not bad, but it could have been better. As for Ted. I don't think his actual plan is to move Leslie into his home. If it is then that is complete character assassination, because Ted can't possibly be this stupid. He already has a forgotten son (practically) and he wants to get rid of their mother from her home (their childhood home) to put in the woman that upended their lives? I doubt this man has this little sense. However, whatever his plan is, we know it is going to piss Nicole off either way and only push his behind further from getting her back.
  15. Part of me wishes they would drop it. Leslie has been so entertaining being messy this week and I think that would have been enough. They didn't need to make Leslie an attempted murderer. I wonder if they didn't realize how popular the character would be and these early choices were done with the thought Leslie would exit the canvas early on or was this always the plan? Dani and Bill have so much chemistry. Heck, Bill and Nicole had great chemistry. I do think there are several things being put into play for a Dani and Bill reconciliation. -Hayley's fake miscarriage. -We have the whole Randy/Sammy situation and Dani wondering if they've met before. I agree with whoever mentioned a few weeks back that the reveal might occur during November sweeps. -Hayley's jealous/worried glance at Bill and Dani finding comfort in each other. -Bill feeling guilty that he hasn't been present for Chelsea and insinuating that his affair only further strained that relationship. I wonder if Martin's secret will play into the miscarriage reveal as in Hayley using it in some way.
  16. Finally caught up on yesterday and today's episodes. It was supposed to be my last week watching live but things happen. I know Kat isn't , but I would not be spending the night in the same place my friend just got kidnapped from even if the likelihood of something happening there again is very low. I would just feel so uneasy and anxious. The grandparents have more than enough rooms and Kat could have said I came back this morning to clean up. If Ted offering Leslie the home is not a con, Ted is an idiot. I don't think he would be this stupid. I think this Chelsea story would have been so strong had they waited to developed the background more fully. The idea that Alison hired a male escort to lure Chelsea based on her assumption she was only into men was smart. I loved seeing Chelsea realize that Craig wasn't Alison's husband. Obviously that would have stretched this story out a very long time if they played it that way, and it seems like they are trying to write at a quicker pace.
  17. If they preempt for Thanksgiving and Christmas and there are no other interruptions or changes, that means Dec. 31st will be episode 204. I don't recall if the Friday after Thanksgiving is usually preempted or a repeat. I haven't watched a soap this regularly in a long time.
  18. Yikes. 50 episodes is 10 weeks of repeats. Seems excessive to me.
  19. I don't mind the break next week since this is the last week I get to watch live before returning to work. Next week would probably be super busy for me anyway. However, as a general concept, I don't love it. Now what I don't get is why these break/repeat weeks or whatever we are calling them are never announced ahead of time. I might be wrong, but I don't recall a commercial this week saying that next week BTG would air repeats. I agree that these breaks can hurt momentum and I'm curious as to the bigger reason or purpose for it. I am not sure if surprising viewers with it is the best strategy. I remember a lot of viewers asking on Twitter last time, because they had no idea.
  20. Hayley was not impressed with Bill looking like he felt some way about finding Dani and Andre in an embrace. Messy Leslie had me howling!
  21. Yes, I am reading it as he is more upset that he was not involved in his daughter's life and sad that she didn't feel safe/close enough to come to him sooner. Now why is Silk Press being this messy. A sympathy plant ðŸŠī 😅
  22. This is the most interested I have been in Joey since the start of this soap and I do not care for this character at all, so it's working for me.
  23. Some of yall are very generous with your assessment of BTG, let's just leave it at that. However, I wouldn't mind giving BTG an EON edge if it blends and balances it well with more traditional soap.
  24. Just saw your post! I see we are having similar feelings about Hayley. I also agree with you about Kat. Sometimes it's great and sometimes someone needs to tell her to go sit somewhere. I didn't love her judgy tone when she said some comment about Craig being an escort either.
  25. I was conflicted with Hayley's actions. Yes, the Duprees need to accept that she is Bill's wife and that's that. However, she knows the family is dealing with something serious and they aren't on good terms with her. I believe she should have taken Bill's advice and stayed away. This isn't a critique of the show. I think it was a good choice that brought good drama. It is more an analysis of Hayley and it is clear she is very insecure in her marriage with Bill.
