The way I read KKL's instagram, I thought she was saying that *she* begins taping Thursday, so I thought she was simply saying she's not taping Mon. Tues. Wed. this week.  Don Diamont said they begin production today. (I don't know, that's simply how I read it).

I belive today was just talking about protocols

That’s what I was thinking. I don’t blame them either, but at least take some time reconfigure the storyline before filming. Then hype it up that the show is having their big return to air. Better than them just picking up from the same spot where they left off and debuting to a 1.3 rating.

Brad will just blame YR again, like he did under mal when YR got bad ratings. "Oh they are airing repeats as the lead in thats why were doing bad"

That would be workable, seem to work fine back in April. I wonder what script changes Thudley has made, hopefully quarantine has brought a more creative side to him again. I’m quite sure we’ll have Forrester Creations staying afloat thanks to their fashionable masks Steffy designed.

Im not expecting much. Tbh, i guess it depends of how long hes been un unfurloughed. But if all the scripts are ready this week i don't think much has changed except to work around the restrictions.

I wonder if they’re aiming at trying to do episodes five days in a row again, I think that would be a mistake. Probably just three eps a week would suffice and cut out a lot of dreck and not waste any valuable time just in case the show has to suspend production again down the road.

Ain’t that the truth lol! I really hope the classics won’t go away entirely.

I would for both showa keep Friday as a classic episode. 4 new episodes a week.

At this point, I think these soaps would be surprised that people care that much. That’s just how half-heartedly I think they regard these shows. (I watched a bit of Y&R pre-COVID, and it’s like one giant shrug emoji, with the exception of a handful of committed actors.) They’re placeholders that do generate some income. Most people under 50 are surprised they still exist.

I appreciate the love for Hollyoaks’ diversity, but man, that show is a ROUGH watch.

I can't get into the UK soaps either. They are great at social issues and diversity but its hard lol

I think this could be the end.  Y&R got renewed for a few years but I don't think viewers will be back after this.  I'm shocked at how well Y&R is doing with the younger demo with repeats.  It doesn't make logical sense.

Wouldn't the writers just keep writing anyway?  Do they actually go to the studio anyway or do they work virtually?  I'd think they'd be working from home alot anyway.

The writers were furloughed, they haven't been writing anything.
