  1. They waited way too long - if Patch had come back in the mid-90s tied to Hope’s return, it would’ve felt organic and so much more impactful than the dragged-out 2006 retcon. In ’94, Hope could’ve sworn she saw Patch during those missing years, planting clues, and then he returns 2–3 years later. Much tighter, more emotional payoff.
  2. Still bugs me that Marlena didn’t come back for Alice’s memorial. Even one episode would’ve made sense - her absence made the whole tribute feel incomplete.
  3. Unfortunately, those episodes of Phyllis’ arrival in Genoa City and the death of Rex Sterling are nowhere to be found. Such a shame, because they would have been amazing to watch again.
  4. 💔 Macy Alexander - So Macy’s big return lasted about two years (2001–2003) before it fizzled into another presumed-dead storyline. How she returned: Rescued from the car crash, living as “Lena” in Italy, rediscovered by Thorne. Why it fizzled: The emotional shock was huge, but within a short time she was sidelined into another tragic accident (chandelier, coma, presumed dead again). Fans felt cheated of a long-term story.
  5. her peak was definitely in the '90s when she was this compelling, complex villain on both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Kimberlin Brown really made that character iconic during that era.
  6. Phillip Chancellor (Y&R, 2009): Hyped as a shocking resurrection and a chance to revive the Chancellor clan, but after the “faked death because he was gay” reveal, the show gave him little story and he vanished again. Victor Lord (OLTL, 2003): Brought back decades after his death, but the retcon didn’t land. Fans rejected it, and he was quickly killed off again. Irene Manning (OLTL, 2011): Supposed to be a game-changer in the “Two Todds” saga, but after a few explosive scenes, she was shot and gone - pure stunt. 👉 All three had huge buildup but no lasting impact.
  7. Haven’t seen any new 90s episodes added to the Y&R Vault in a while. Any chance Sony might start dropping more classics, like they’ve done with B&B?
  8. No new episodes from the 90s have been uploaded to Y&R for quite a while. Any chance Sony might start releasing classic episodes, like they did with B&B?
  9. Hi, do you know if there’s any chance more Y&R episodes from the ’90s will be uploaded soon?
  10. I had no idea Terry Lester was on Dallas! Fun cameo as Rudy Millington - poor guy didn’t stand a chance against J.R.
  11. The Young and the Restless in the late ’80s/early ’90s was peak soap. The storylines were rich, the pacing was tighter, and the acting across the board (from the Newmans to the Abbotts) was magnetic. It really pulled viewers in and kept them invested for years. By the late ’90s/early 2000s the tone shifted a bit, but that earlier era was golden and set the foundation for why so many stayed hooked.
  12. Yeah, I’ve heard those same rumors about Deidre not always being the warmest off-screen, which might explain the “coldness” people pick up on. The supposed friction with Crystal Chappell has floated around for years, though it was never confirmed. With Suzanne Rogers it does feel like a genuine loss, since Maggie and Marlena were such solid best friends for decades. And with Kristian - yeah, that hug was telling. At best, it suggested some distance; at worst, maybe something more personal behind the scenes.
  13. Was this double recast - Sharon now played by Sharon Case and Doris now played by Karen Hensel, both in the same scene - the only time such a thing happened?
  14. Absolutely legendary storytelling. Bell & PFS knew how to play the long game - raw, emotional, unforgettable.
  15. Do you think the show killed off Renée and Megan too quickly back in the '80s?
  16. So yeah, it may not be the soap it once was, but it's clearly still got enough gas in the tank to keep going strong (at least on streaming).
  17. Bottom line? Yeah, soaps are kind of dying. The vets are aging, the writing's lazy, the magic’s mostly gone, Shrinking Budgets and Ratings - and honestly, most of the shows feel like they’re just coasting. They’re not what they used to be, and a lot of fans are sticking around more out of habit than excitement. Unless the networks seriously shake things up - new talent, better writing, fresh energy - we’re just watching a slow, quiet goodbye. Maybe soaps should end on a high note - with dignity - rather than fade into a shadow of themselves. But if they’re going to keep going, they need more than nostalgia.
  18. Pure soap royalty, truly. 30 years without Mac, 15 without Frances - and you can feel the absence. The heart of Days hasn’t quite beat the same since.
  19. Deidra is a beautiful person, not just in appearance but in the way she treats others - with kindness, grace, and warmth
  20. https://filesupload.io/get/download/g8qsxwxf After Tom passed in 1994, Marie returned and looked back on the tough time when her long-lost brother Mark (formerly Tommy Jr.) came home. Seeing all the Hortons together was special - hard to believe it’s been over 30 years.
