  1. I've felt this way about GH's colour-grading style for YEARS (it wasn't this way pre-FV). It has infinitely more sets than Y&R, yet it is a very cold soap visually. He should take notes from Brenda Dickson. 😅
  2. It's so hard to take anything Peter says seriously when the acting is so ridiculous. Like, today, he just intermittently out of the blue, takes on some sort of really bad imitation Martin Grey-esque manner of speech to go along with his other typical weird acting idiosyncrasies? For why? Where did that come from? It's like he's trying to be commanding and grand in the style of a classically trained thespian reciting Shakespeare on stage. But he doesn't actually have the faintest clue what he's doing and is just trying out random ideas on the fly. You're not getting knighted like Sir Patrick Stewart for erratically over-acting like a rube in a Soap Opera mister.
  3. If they were a spice, they would be flour.
  4. I'm convinced that he got lost on his way to a Shakespearian Theatre Convention and ended up on the parking lot of the GH soundstage instead. 😅
  5. Even in 1996, Virginia Benson's set wasn't really trailer-park per se (at least to me), however nor it was a nice condo. It was however rather homely and modest. Looking later in the clip/episode, they also completely overlooked the fact that it was Detective Felix Piser who Bobbie hired to seek out Carly that brought her to Port Charles, not Frank Benson. Carly convinced Piser she would give him money in exchange for his silence so she could scope out Bobbie's family (she believed they were loaded as both Tony and Bobbie were both in the medical field). 🙄
  6. Oof I completely blocked that out of memory LOL. But yeah, where that storyline was concerned, FV's version of Lena's death goes against how Bobbie explained to Nikolas in 1996 how she died and why she felt abandoned by her.
  7. Ugh what I hate about Frank's one-off episodes is that he has a tendency to retcon a whole bunch of things that goes completely against things that were previously addressed on-screen (I'm still not over the Carly's journey to Port Charles re-write leading to Nelle meeting her from a few months ago). In this case Mikkos being abusive to Kristin is news to me considering how Alexis described the dynamic to Helena in 2004.
  8. Mmm... I just got the episodes from the RR YouTube Channel but I can double check!
  9. This is fantastic! This era is so rare - I'm so excited to see more of the fallout between Tricia and Megan. I see the episode of Megan saying "how could you be such a bitch" is on there! I'm thinking of sharing these to Sabryn since I'm connected to her on social media. If you ever get to 2001, feel free to upload your versions of them, in case there are differences in versions and quality. Was Keith Dennison always supposed to be this j@ckass of a character?
  10. Aww it's ok, thanks for confirming!
  11. On the note of Thorne, gotta admire just how shamelessly and relentlessly Brooke went after Thorne that she delivered divorce papers to Macy. 😂
  12. Just got this tweet. Can our Angel who uploaded the German Episodes investigate and confirm?
  13. I didn't think it was bad at all! Crossposting from the GH thread - with WL's performance, I genuinely saw the pain of a teenager reacting to a loved one dying rather violently (mind you this character has gone though SEVERAL losses over the last few years). I also find the comparisons to WR's performance unfair - with WR, I just saw a classically trained actor who got lost on his way to a Shakespearian Theatre and ended up on the GH soundstage.
  14. It's a sad day when GH nowadays inspires me more than Y&R does. Anywhoo, I haven't done one of these in a while so enjoy!
  15. If you can find a clip from OLTL that has this cue that would be great. As far as I know, this was an original for Y&R composed by Allocco, Kurtz, and Guitto and those three were exclusively composers for Y&R up until 2012, which would prohibit the use of this cue on an ABC soap from a licensing standpoint, unlike in the example above as Gary Kuo composed for both Y&R and Loving so music rights are a bit more flexible especially considering Loving is off the air. Perhaps it's possible the arrangements were very similar sounding.
  16. I was browsing some old clips of Loving because I wanted to see LW's work as Ally, and through my ears I discovered that Y&R ended up inheriting a music cue from Loving's library! (Likely because Gary Kuo worked on both shows) Loving: Y&R:
  17. Damn, you beat me to it! I saw the title of this thread and immediately thought of that scene LOL. MS as Phyllis during MAB's run was pretty much insufferable ("MY HUSBAND, MY HUSBAND!" or basically her stammering the same lines on repeat). MSPhyllis now isn't nearly as irritating as she was back in 2012, but I credit that to the writing, or lack thereof. My only criticism of her Phyllis now is that she is constantly portraying her as if she had just done 10 shots of tequila straight right before getting on set 😅😅. God I miss Gina Tognoni. She knew when to ham it up and when to be subtle. On Y&R: Pretty much anything Brenda Dickson did on the tail end of her run. It's fun to watch but the acting style definitely didn't age well. On B&B: Shoutout to KKL when she had to deliver the "I FRIGGIN FORBID IT!" with such conviction in 2008. On GH: Grayson McCouch's version of Agent Kyle Sloane. MW as Ava can also ham it up sometimes but I personally find it endearing to the character.
  18. I have uploaded the 2000-2004 Playlists from the Y R YouTube Channel to the Vault! Some of the 2003 episodes are missing as there were corruption issues while I downloaded it, and have since been blocked on YouTube. I'm putting my focus on those playlists as they get updated. Hopefully we will get more of 2001 and 2002. 2003 looks very promising so far.
  19. Is anybody actively downloading/archiving the clips being uploaded to the Y R YouTube Channel? So far I've been doing it and I've uploaded January and February 2003 to the Vault. Quite a bit of my files have had downloading issues/corruption issues and I've already lost a few of the episodes from March and April and can't re-download them since YouTube has blocked them, rats!
  20. I just took a look at the Word document and it looks like someone backspaced the link and changed some of the formatting.... I'm gonna give them a benefit of a doubt and say it was just a result from being clumsy. In any case, I've added the link back and I also have the link on my Twitter profile (YRVault).
