I think Morning Joe is a bunch of Beltway hacks, but in fairness they have been full-throated in cheering the Dems on yesterday and today, and saying this is a referendum on Trump that will continue to decimate the GOP. It's more about the enemy of my enemy - however flighty and vapid they are, they make a lot of tastes in DC. They speak to that constituency and attempt to craft narrative. It's in our interest to harness that narrative as it's happening now. Cynical, maybe a little - but necessary.

This Daily Beast piece on Halperin's rise and fall has been torn apart for some curious wording and Mike Barnicle's tone-deaf quote at the end, but for the most part I (who despise Halperin) thinks it pretty accurately explains what he did to political journalism and how it got there. As I have always basically said, when it comes to politics he is kind of a vapid, authoritarian-leaning sociopath:

May be coincidence, but it's the kind of detail I can see someone like Frost having picked up.
