  1. Where will they send Debbie off to this time?
  2. Oh, Carl, that made me giggle. It's true, though. What a ghastly bunch of newcomers.
  3. Thanks so much, Monika! I just watched it and OMG, there's a much younger looking Douglass Watson in the Moment of Truth promo. "Nancy, I'm a clinical psychologist, I'm not a carpenter, uhhh, there have to be secrets in this room!" Thanks again.
  4. amybrickwallace, I'd love to see that promo on dailymotion but can't seem to find it. Can you please tell us what key words to use for the search? Thanks.
  5. I think I read somewhere that they were flatmates, too, Bright Eyes. Of course that doesn't mean he's necessarily gay but... On tonight's episode, in his scene with Labey, Roger Sloman may have given the single worst performance ever seen (and unfortunately heard) in an episode of EE. Atrocious doesn't begin to describe it.
  6. I go in and out with Donna nowadays. Sometimes I think she's fine and other times I want to slap her. Jonny Labey totally went for it in that kiss on last night's episode. He was very, uhh, forceful. Good for him. I have a feeling the actor really is gay.
  7. Good God, Roger Sloman is giving one of the most grotesquely awful performances ever on a soap. Les Coker can't croak soon enough for me but I suspect it will happen on the centenary of Cokers & Sons in late July. Jonny Labey as Paul Coker made a fine debut. He's handsome, charming and, yes, sexy. They should have dialed back on the perma-tan, though.
  8. I would have preferred Lydia Bruce as Ruth over Lee Meriwether. Wow, amybrickwallace, really? Cool!
  9. Jonathsn Harvey posts that from time to time on Twitter-it really is funny.
  10. I didn't buy Denise and Ian as a couple for purely shallow reasons-she deserves someone attractive looking and Ian has rever been remotely physically attractive even when he looked his best (which for me was around 2005, believe it or not).
  11. Betsy Palmer will always have been Suz Becker to me. http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2015/05/betsy_palmer_dead_at_88_actres.html
  12. I really do find the wasteful neglect of Diane Parish's enormous talent and appeal to be utterly baffling. Empire just started airing in the UK, I think. She must watch that, see Taraji P. Henson tear that show apart, stare down at her dinner and weep.
  13. To me he always had a boyish look, though. Ron Raines didn't.
  14. That was something else, I don't think Tony's had a title. Here's Danny-Boy Hatchard (Lee) doing a rather nice job with a song called "Now":
  15. He tried to sell a soap to the Fox network here about 7 years ago. It was set in Chicago and would have been on several nights a week like EE. The network passed on it when the executives played musical chairs.
  16. Good for her, glad she's gotten through her cancer struggle and done well.
  17. Yes, Red Planet Pictures. It's highly successful. Right now he's shooting a 20 part BBC miniseries mingling many of Dickens' characters in one show.
  18. I should think Lester would have been too young for Alan, though.
  19. I read that tabloid article (it was in the Sunday Mirror) a day later. I showed it to Tony. I said "Wow, talk about burning bridges." Tony shrugged. Ryder was pretty much blackballed by the BBC and also by Channel 4 where Yorke was a head honcho. Kym Marsh and Ryder were actually married at the time and she apparently played a big part in Ryder's quitting EE, telling him he was wasting his time working on a soap. She was referred to as "Yoko" backstage at EE. Ironic, huh?
  20. He's s great guy, extremely laid back and down to earth. I remember when we happened to be watching a talk show hosted by comic Frank Skinner and Jack Ryder was a guest on it. Ryder's final performance on EE had just aired. They played a clip of Jamie dying in the hospital. When the clip ended Ryder actually said to Skinner "Crap, innit?" I turned to Tony, furious at what I'd just heard. Tony simply put his drink down, said "Well, that wasn't so cool, was it?" got up and proceeded to make a bacon sandwich. And he WROTE the scene that Ryder had taken a dump on. And Jordan fought to get Ryder cast in the role in the first place by convincing BBC executives that Ryder's lack of acting experience would not be a problem. Unbelievable.
  21. I do, NothinButAttitude. When I've been over in the UK I have often spent a weekend with him and his wonderful family. I remember when he first described his Life on Mars idea. I thought it was "high concept" but had no idea it would take off the way it did and be as brilliant as it was.
  22. Well, I called it, didn't I? Carla will be the landlady of the Rovers before Allison King's departure?
  23. I can see Roxy being killed off, actually. Maybe by Carmel? I tell you, she's EVIL.
  24. It bothers me that it seems to never be all that big deal on these shows. It IS a big deal, it's frigging incest! Is incest looked on as less of a taboo in the UK?
  25. I think Nicole's a combination of Bet and Tracy.
