B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
I don't want to give a direct link here, but if you go to Amy Silence channel she posted her google drive in a comment to one of the videos she has public. There's not many, so you should be able to find it easily. I'll work on uploading them into the Vault as well. Too bad! So I guess the Fashion Shows are no longer available at all. Are the collections for Location Shoots all still there? If there are 10 episodes for that, can you give me the list? I only see 8 listed, not sure if that's because I'm not on a VPN or if the site is messed up.

Thanks @LuckyBold Do you know which episodes are no longer available? I'm uploading Portofino to the Vault right in 1040p HD. I managed to grab it before they deleted it. So I completed the list from 10play after finding this site, which lists the episode numbers so now I got all the dates: https://tv.apple.com/au/show/the-bold-and-the-beautiful-fast-tracked/umc.cmc.3ulgph6vqen0z03pxtd4msgv9 However, it only adds up to 45 and there were supposed to be 50... ??? I bolded the episodes that I think are not uploaded anywhere, but hopefully I'm wrong and some has them. Notes: -2/2/05 is "Ridge vs. Thorne" fashion show, not on YT. -10/8/96 fashion show is in the vault but the quality is low, so while I'm very grateful, I count that as one that we still need -5/3/96 (which we have - thank you!) is listed as "Barbados Pt 2" on the apple/10play site, but I don't see any listing for Barbados Pt 1, although there are two episode #s missing for Location Shoots, so that could be one of them? -7/31/09 is listed as "Barbados Pt 3" but upon looking up the recap, this is the episode where Brooke interrupts Ridge & Taylor's wedding and it was filmed in Pt. Dume, not Barbados. This one is on a random YouTube channel but it's only half the episode cut with another episode. If this is a mistake, then maybe there are three Barbados episodes plus this Pt Dume episode which would account for the two missing episode #s in this category. Really confusing. I always felt he was a gold digger (he was already married to Traci when I started watching) but upon watching 80s stuff lately now I'm not so sure about that. There's definitely no scenes where he's laughing behind her back or anything, but he also doesn't seem that in love with her, IMO, so it's more ambiguous (hell, he's making googly eyes at Ashley in their 1991 wedding that was just shown). He was kind of flirting/friends with Jill when they both lived in the house, then he gets a sales position at Jabot, and Traci busts ass to help him make sales and get a promotion, and John starts to really respect him and loves him like a son. Later, when his ex-wife Lisa captures him in the cage, we also find out he was her gardner too, which is another point for him being a gold digger. The show definitely played the beat of "she can't believe someone as good looking as him likes HER" and even other people, especially Lauren, comment on that. Even on their honeymoon (seen on the German episodes), some good looking girls flirt with Brad on the beach and are shocked when Traci walks up and that's his wife. Unpopular opinion here - I never found him that hot or good looking really. In virtually every episode I've watched someone is always saying that he's sooooo hot. It's almost as bad as it was with all the characters saying "Cricket, you're even more beautiful than the last time I saw you." I think his relationship with Ashley hurt Traci because she was always the less beautiful sister, and Brad was this handsome guy that loved her and that was special, so to see her sister get that guy (the father of her only child and probably the love of her life) was another thing where her sister beat her. Then again, we do see Danny who's supposed to be this big rockstar who also has genuine feelings for Traci although the feeling is more he loves her as a person than he is sexually attracted to her. Another unpopular opinion - I didn't mind him being killed. That was a time when a lot of soaps were killing off vets to save money. It was terrible. I don't support that at all, but I must say, if they had to kill off a vet at that point, that was the right choice and worked pretty well on all levels: -He was not that good of an actor compared to the other vets. -Had just come off the reliquary storyline which was the worst the show had ever done. -Had been with every woman in town, not much interesting story left to play, IMO. -They made him die a hero, which made him more likable in the end. -The actor didn't suffer, he got a great role on B&B where he gets to be the alpha male and play some comedy which he seems to prefer, plus the show needed a jolt of energy. So it all worked out perfectly.

I do think a lot of the complaining has to with people feeling the show just wasn't good after 2005.

Today was so awful. So they thought Adam killed Skye, but then Sharon finds her alive, but of course she was away from her group but then ends up pushing Skye into the volcano anyway so now Sharon is the murderer and still can't prove Adam is innocent? And Jana has now forgiven Daisy and wants to take her baby and then lets her go because Kevin is with Chloe? And Abby can't go two seconds without mentioning getting naked? This was such utter trash. I was watching then, but I had blocked out these horrible storylines. @janea4old Here is the rebroadcast of Nick & Sharon's wedding:

Those are not bad! I feel like Nick & Sharon's wedding has been shown a million times, but the other two choices are solid and rarely shown. I could see them doing that Villy sitcom wedding... hope they'll just stick to things from before 2010.

These kinds of choices will probably turn people off from the really classic episodes. At this point in the show they had just gotten through John and Jill's divorce with the pictures of her and Jack, Jill getting shot, Jack getting arrested and sentenced. All amazing stuff. But oh noooo can't show that because of Terry Lester and Brenda Dickson. Nina and Phillip have been introduced, but not yet met. Nikki is about to find out she has soap opera disease and Ashley will learn she's pregnant. But we get this random episode instead. Really strange choices when they couldn't go into the 1980s vault for Katherine week or Abbot week (even if they had to have Jess Walton and Peter Bergman in the roles, they still could have picked things from late 1989). And if Bergman is the reason they didn't show anything from the 1980s when the Abbots were established, which I really think it is, then it's really not fair that they picked an episode with Brenda Epperson for Abbot week. I loved Brenda, but Terry is even better. Eileen Davidson is the original and current Ashley so it would make more sense to show an early 1980s with her and a different Jack, than it would be to cast aside the first years of history for the sake of Bergman, who isn't even the original actor. And then, you had Lester in a 1987 episode anyway (another fairly boring one with Nikki's dream), so it's not like they're opposed to ever showing him, but just opposed to showing him in an episode where the focus is on Jack.

Usually the actors are dancing without music so the microphones can pick up dialogue, and then music is added later. That's why a lot of times it seems like they're not really dancing to the music.

I vaguely remember that Colleen had an attitude. When she learned Abby wasn't Brad's bio daughter she said at least now I know she's my cousin not my sister. I didn't like John in that scene. If Ashley was going to feel threatened by Traci and Colleen she shouldn't have married her brother in law then!

I was joking when I mentioned Lane. Sorry guys! I hope I didn't jinx it lol. He's the only one of the featured couples who's not on the show. Makes me wonder if he's been hinting he wants to come back to help the ratings with the comeback... Groan.

Agreed, but they have the benefit of still being on the show and together, as are Michael and Lauren (Ashley, Victor, Nick, and Sharon still on the show but not together; and all of them are still played by the same actors). And I feel like that "Ducky" clip has been referenced on the show quite a few times so they think it's epic. I suppose if Cane were still on the show we'd get the episode where he and Lily imagine themselves dancing in a black and white film. I can hardly imagine what other post-2010 "gems" we'll get. After going through Abbot week and Katherine week I'm very pessimistic about the chances of getting anything else before 1985. The only chances are an all Nikki week or an all Victor week. I doubt Paul or Lauren will get their own week.

That sounds terrible, lol. If it's a romance week, I'm guessing this is why? https://www.soapcentral.com/yr/recaps/2010/101227.php#thu Chloe said that Kevin was her Ducky. Kevin didn't want to hear that. Kevin didn't want to be a movie character that was the leading lady's best friend. Chloe said that Ducky belonged with the leading lady. Chloe told Kevin that he was just what she'd been looking for in a man, including that he was her best friend. Chloe feared that Kevin hated her. Kevin said he didn't hate Chloe. Chloe asked Kevin to tell her what he was really feeling. Kevin said that he wanted Chloe. Chloe said she wanted Kevin, too. They kissed passionately.

I think it must be a week of "romantic moments that sweep you off your feet" or something. I remember Kim Zimmer used to call them "Calgon take me away!" lol. I wonder if they will show when Malcolm made a fake prom. These episodes are so cheesy. And I can't believe Victor picked up a rose and set "She loves me, she loves me not." From what I gather in rough German and with auto subs in the next episode Casey tells him Nikki has 2 months to live and he convinces her not to tell Nikki, since it's hopeless anyway (this could never happen today!). Then he arrives at the ranch the very moment the lawyers are there to negotiate the divorce and he tells them to give her the ranch, everything she wants, plus an extra 10k a month (and then I assume he'll ask her to stay with him but haven't watched that far). Kind of funny to see Lauren and Michael's honeymoon, then their engagement. And Daniel telling Lily he wants to go on the run, when they just showed them on the run. This has to be so annoying for casual fans. It was nice yesterday when Traci mentioned that Mamie had prayed with her about the baby, which we just saw last week, and it actually made sense. That was clearly a coincidence though lol. I'll admit that ealy 90s Y&R, which is my favorite era, looks dated and that old movie feel wouldn't work today. But 1999 and after? They need not have changed a damn thing. The sets, styling and direction are still really good until the mid-2000s. They modernized the music. The characters actually look rich. The "updating" things was just cost cutting. I'm beginning to think they said this to everyone to coincide with the 13 week cycle! Probably in case there was a Cam Gigandet situation and they had to dump someone. I'm sure Bill Bell planned things out further than 3 months. It's more like: this is a short term role for you in case you don't work out and we replace you with another actor or similar character.

If anyone is interested, here's the German version of Traci & Brad's first wedding. It was originally supposed to be in church, but was changed to the Abbot house at the last minute because of the publicity after Jack's arrest for shooting Jill. This is the one that's supposed to air monday. (I also just noticed that they blocked the German version of Danny's "It's Ok to Say No" concert, I wonder if that's a hint that one will come up? I think I have it in English somewhere anyway)

This is such a weird theme week, lol. I can't figure it out. Jumping from 1986 to 2001? This is the episode where Nick and Sharon have an Arabian themed night. https://www.soapcentral.com/yr/recaps/2001/010604.php#thu
