I know GL was... Also on one of my Y&R episodes from August 22, 1990 there's a program note that says ATWT wouldn't be airing that day, because of Special Reports...don't know if it was just that area or that counts as a preemption?

It's definitely a bit frustrating to not no for sure which exact days didn't air for Watergate.......if only there was a supersized soap database for ALL soaps.....besides Days and AW....

Wow! this is great! I don't really follow ATWT but this should be interesting to read! especially if it may help confirm when other soaps had preemptions etc... was ATWT not effected by watergate in summer 1973??

LOL no problem!! lots of good stuff, that all seems to be leading to the events at Victor/Nikki's first wedding! never thought we'd see any of it! I also loved Liz's dose of reality that Katherine chooses to be bitter about the past, and it makes her appear more "ugly" I do liked that Katherine tried, and Jill was the one who can't forget....without good reason, such great but heart-wrenching performances from Jeanne and Brenda.... I love seeing "action here" Victor working with Paul and Andy.....forgotten friendships and relationships, because the show refuses to show Victor's human side.... Love Lauren is the pot-stirring bitch...her exchanges with Jazz and Amy were fun!

Thanks!!! I actually was hoping this scene would pop up again! No problem!! and I agree it’s good to save this one now! It doesn’t exactly say “Y&R” In the tittle but u never know anyways.. Brenda’s last day was 12/21/95 and I think Shari debuted about 3 months later...I think 3/11/96 was her first airdate! i think by the end of 1993 they started making the production more “cinematic” slightly different lighting/camera angles and different music being used....I guess they were trying to go for a more “prime time” look.

I loved finally getting to see this too....I think this scene proved Brenda, if she stuck around could really play all the different layers of Ashley, that people think ED is more accustomed too, like the coldness and berserk scenes like this....I thought Ashley was going to go after Jill with the knife too! I didn't realize Ashley and Olivia's friendship was present at this time....I always think it isn't really till they brought back Ashley with Shari, and then Eileen's return they played up the friendship more...It's kind of sad, that Ashley was warning Olivia, just as her own marriage was up in flames too...funny enough Olivia sort of went crazy too, when she found out about Nathan/Keesha. btw, thanks for the 1995 SOU stuff! I have to say, some of the pictures, specifically Jack/Jill, Nikki/Victor look later 90's, but maybe it's the lighting.....surprised Lauren got a shout out, as she spent most of that year on B&B to finish up Sheila's initial arch there.....

Deveney just disappeared, never to be mentioned again right? I know the confrontation scenes with Stephanie and Deveney are still around, but after Stephanie stops Thorne from shooting Ridge again, Deveney just disappears.... That seemed to be a Bill Bell thing, having the villain just vanish, if he had no more use for them...he did it on Y&R with Lisa, and even though she wasn't really a villain....Diane who helped David, but then turned on him, just ran off, right as David was killed...

I always thought, Stephanie used that line after Angela and her doctor had their car accident and that's what she was referring too...I didn't know it was a wheelchair accident. I feel like the story on paper sounded a lot more better then how it played out...other then the creepy facial makeup stuff a year later....the Angela story never really had a proper ending I think. I always say it wasn't until 1989 the show really picked up the pace, but after reading synopses, It still seemed like it was struggling on what type of show they wanted to be....I guess it was hard for Bill Bell to live up to the hype of Y&R's popularity....obviously the show improved over the next couple of years... even so, I would take this B&B over "Liam and the Liam" everyday!
