  1. Yes. In so many ways. Cohen should have known better. I understand that the fabulously wealthy are going to do shady things, but using your lawyer as your fixer and then going into politics seems incredibly foolish. Some think Mueller has Trump's taxes because of this raid. We'll see. This goes for Kushner too. Why break the law and then seek attention by going into public "service"? Be happy with your fabulous wealth, break the law and stay out of the lime light!
  2. ^ This is great news!
  3. The Saudis I bet. Honestly the corruption in this administration is endless. This is a long thread and worth reading if you have the stomach for it.
  4. Looks more like a piece POS to me.
  5. Unbelievable.
  6. This seems pretty awful. And this. Not that it's the first time he's advocated for committing war crimes.
  7. I hope he goes down for treason along with the rest of the criminals in this administration.
  8. ^ I think the way they framed the "caravan" is the issue. It seems to me it was a group of scared migrants banding together for safety. Maybe there were some organizers involved hoping to get some positive attention. Trump and his ilk called it an "invasion" to scare people. It's sad how susceptible people are to these manipulations. As for Squawk Box I like Andre Ross Sorkin. He's mostly a good guy, although Joe tends to run over him at times. I remember when I even liked Joe, but he's become the kind of bitter rich white guy that really rankles me.
  9. How old is the kid? I'm just curious. I don't think I had any sense of "liking" boys until I was 10 or so. Could be different for others obviously. With my children I figure they are blank slates until they tell me/show me who they are.
  10. ^ OK, well, that's pretty funny at least.
  11. That's what bothered me a little. I wish they had at least showed me that Roseanne loves Harris first. Oh well, it's not that big a deal. I think the points they were trying to make about different parenting styles came through. I agreed with Roseanne that you can't really be your teenagers trusting friend. I also agree with Darlene that you shouldn't beat them. A little dunk under the facet never hurt anyone though. Overall, I didn't think this episode was as funny as the first two. Dan had a couple of good lines though. When he was doing the race call between Roseanne and the chair and then said something like "and Death Wish comes from behind to win by a neck" referring to Harris. I don't recall the original show as well as some of you, but it seemed a little more optimistic. Like these were struggling people, but they weren't totally f*cked and maybe things would get better. I had stopped watching before the lottery win. Not sure if that was my child's eye or how it really was. This time things feel a little darker. I'm not saying that's bad.
  12. I didn't care for this either. These people live in the state. Did Darlene never bring her kids to visit when they were little? It just seems like the Roseanne/Harris relationship lacked the underlying affection that should be there. Yes, she was being disrespectful, but having a parent or grandparent call a teenage girl a bitch is so distasteful to me. It's also not exactly modeling respect either. I thought the water thing was good and Harris did deserve that.
  13. I guess if some of the seats that have turned blue recently could change anyone can. Still, I am not hopeful that the deep red states will change. That being they case it seems only fair they share the pain. Even though I live in Nebraska, I don't much care. Many people in the rural part of this state care more about controlling female bodies than they do about their own economic welfare, so let them feel the pain that priority brings. This is so reckless on trumps part. While I certainly have no love for a man who hoards 32 billion and counting, while people all over the world die of hunger, my money is on Bezos.
  14. Looks like Allison Mack married Nicki Clyne (Battlestar Galatica) potentially to avoid legal consequences. I always wondered why Cally was written off so abruptly. Also Grace Park is in this cult. Unbelievable. https://blindgossip.com/?p=90956#more-90956 https://artvoice.com/2017/11/21/nicki-clyne-quit-acting-broke-contract-battlestar-galatica-producers-join-nxivm-mission-full-time/#.WsQHDqNzK1s
  15. Yeah. I always thought it was being overweight and having to deal with the lighting and all that, but it was obviously more. This is an interesting article by Roseanne. It's old, but it touches on her mental illness. http://nymag.com/arts/tv/upfronts/2011/roseanne-barr-2011-5/
  16. Sure, but I'm not talking about policy I disagree with. Every Republican in the last 44 years has supported policy I disagree with. I'm talking about attacking the courts, the press and pretty much every institution and norm that makes this a democracy, including the voting process. Then we have the sheer amount of unabashed corruption and chaos he has brought down on us. ETA: Oh, I forgot calling the Nazi's very nice people and empowering their movement, so that nearly half our country is in more danger than ever.
  17. Yes, but maybe we can hope that Trump has mobilized enough people on the left and in the center so that we can get him out. Maybe as Marceline mentioned the other day, some people in the right will stay home because they aren't on board, even if they don't vote democrat. I agree in a way. One the one hand I think Trump wants to be a dictator and he's eroding democratic institutions in a way someone like Kasich or Romney wouldn't have. On the other hand 40% of Americans approve of Trump. It's hard to wrap my mind around that and I'm sure it feels like a terrible betrayal to many people in our country (because it is one).
  18. OMG. This is really scary and disturbing. One of the anchors in that picture is Liz Bishop the anchor from the upstate NY region where I grew up. I bet she hates having to do that. I guess she could quit she must be close to retirement, but that still sucks. We will be very lucky if we get anything approaching free and fair elections in November. He may not be playing three dimensional (or is it six dimensional? Whatever the hell the saying is) chess, but he is trying to distract people from the real issues. With the media it works more than it should. In some cases as the one Carl mentioned owners are actively colluding.
  19. That's not really true. There are lines you can't cross as Laura Ingraham is finding out right now. If Roseanne crosses it and starts becoming a liability, they will drop her like a hot potato. My fingers are crossed that she will not make that mistake. Leaving the Parkland kids alone would be a good start. Not that I think she can stick to this, but I'm guessing ABC has already told her to watch it.
  20. What?? Wow. I assumed it was the other way around. Now Mack is apparently second in command. This is such a crazy story. I guess they have Mack on video chasing after the car when the leader was arrested. Looks like she's next to be arrested. http://www.newyorkupstate.com/albany/2018/03/nxivm_cult_keith_raniere_allison_mack_smallville.html "Frank Parlato, who's frequently written about NXIVM based on interviews with former members for The Frank Report, says DOS works on a master-slave hierarchy with Raniere at the top followed by Mack. Other members also reportedly include former "Dallas" star Catherine Oxenberg's daughter India Oxenberg, wealthy Seagram's heiresses Sara and Clare Bronfman, and "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" star Kristin Kreuk. " Apparently the cult leader took millions from the Seagram's heiresses. What a nightmare. I also feel bad for Catherine Oxenberg. I remember reading awhile back about how she's tried to get her daughter out.
  21. Good lord. It looks like Allison Mack might finally get arrested for her part in a sex cult. https://www.yahoo.com/news/apos-smallville-apos-actresses-allison-185619122.html What I didn't realize is that Kristen Kreuk was part of it too. At least it looks like she wasn't as involved in the hierarchy as Allison. http://people.com/human-interest/kristin-kreuk-denies-sex-slave-nxivm-keith-raniere/
  22. Yeah, especially since Dan called the pain medicine "sunshine".
  23. Maybe, but I figured it would be Dan or Roseanne given the first episode. I loved that show's theme song.
