  1. This really is outrageous and a sign of how corrupt things are.
  2. 😡
  3. 😂 It's the least of what they deserve. Really they need to be kicked to the curb. These people should not have a position of power in our democracy. I hope you feel better soon though Khan. Those numbers posted above about the uptick in first time voters seems like very good news to me. All of those numbers concerning turn out look good. Fingers crossed for the results.
  4. Think of it as a massive **** you to everyone trying to suppress the black vote today. It's just insane watching this illegal, immoral behavior in real time. If democrats are ever in charge again we have to get this under control. Human decency demands it. I expect to have a similar experience later this afternoon. It's how it should be for everyone.
  5. Good lord, there are some nuts out there. Stacey Abrams needs some good security if she wins. And yeah, I would love few things more than seeing Don Jr. indicted.
  6. Amen.
  7. The idea that some of these Republicans are going to lose because of Trump's hateful rhetoric fills me with joy. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Most of them have been silent and complicit because he was getting them what they wanted.
  8. ^ That's good news. I'm pretty hopefully about tomorrow. I'm glad the wait is almost over.
  9. Right. In the big picture, I do worry that the hate is going to continue to build the longer he's in power. Did you see those teachers in Idaho who came to school dressed as "The Wall" for Halloween? I know it's Idaho, but when actual teachers are doing this kind of $hit, it is very disheartening.
  10. I wonder if this will backfire just enough to lose tomorrow. Far too many people are on board with his message, but I don't think they have the majority. I may be wrong, but I don't think most people like the way the country has changed over the last two (but really three) years.
  11. To my utter shock it turns out I know the professor that was being targeted here. He's a conservative (politically liberal) Jew. He and his wife are friendly acquaintances because we have children of similar ages, so she is always inviting me to events. This is just crazy to think that these goons threatened to unleash their crazys on him just when another conservative temple was being attacked. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/jeff-fortenberry-nebraska-professor-threats_us_5bdb343ee4b01abe6a1c4ca8
  12. @Max It will be interesting to see how the pollsters do this year. Nate Silver has the chances of the Republicans keeping The House at 20%. That's really not a terrible chance. If someone said I had a 20% chance of dying tomorrow, I'd be checking to be sure my affairs are in order. To me the number of races they get right will be more indicative of their effectiveness than if they call individual outcomes correctly.
  13. She's so much smarter. She deserves to win.
  14. I hope people don't fall for this. I know overestimating people is a good way to be disappointed, but I don't think many people will fall for this.
  15. I can only imagine what Trump will unleash if the republicans lose on Tuesday.
  16. Partially that. Also I want to see for myself that things are running smoothly and no one is being bothered when they try to vote. People think of Nebraska as all white, but Omaha itself isn't.
  17. Hopefully it means good things. I probably should have voted by mail, but for some reason I want to show up at the polls on election day. I don't even know why, I just feel the need to do it in person this year.
  18. ^ He really is a monster. I can't believe we have a minimum of 2 more years of this. Yeah, he could die, but I've never been the optimistic sort. I'm headed to Temple Israel for Shabbat service tonight. I dread it to be honest. The people there have always welcomed me even though I'm an outsider. I hate to see them in so much pain thanks to blind hatred.
  19. I do. It's the televangelist kind. Where the guy on TV is getting grannies and rubes to send him their social security checks, while he buys private planes and hookers.
  20. Partially I think it's that unstable, isolated people are being radicalized online. There was a time when guys like this would have just lived out there lives as drugged out losers. The internet has made it easier for them to find a cause online and to carry out some mission to support the cause (in their minds at least) One way you can tell they are kind of delusional is that their mission never makes the slightest difference in reality. If anything it drives more people to support whatever or whomever they were against. Just to be clear, I don't absolve any of these people of personal responsibility and they can all hang as far as I'm concerned. If we are going to have a death penalty might is well use it on these mass shooters.
  21. ^ OMG. I didn't know that he had been invited to Bible study by his victims. They were trying to include him and bring him into their holy place and he killed them. Death is really to good for the little POS, but I'll take it.
  22. I can't even imagine what it's like for people who fought fascism in the 40's to be confronted with this watered down version of it in 2018. I can only hope they live to see relative sanity restored.
  23. I guess the positive aspect of this story is that sometimes the apples do fall far from the tree. 15,000 troops to the border? That is just so stupid and wasteful.
  24. ^ What a self entitled hypocrite.
