  1. Yes, I read them years ago, but I'm being careful not to give any spoilers, so as not to ruin it for others. Plus, the writers are changing the show enough that every episode still surprises me. I actually wondered if Jaime might keep his hand, like Tyrion got to keep his nose, but I think fans would have revolted. I liked the way Cersei made mention of Tyrion's nose on the show. It was a nice little shout out to the books. She seemed so disappointed he still had it.
  2. Even though Jaime is not as smart as Tyrion, he is very intelligent. He's brutal in some ways, but I think he respects Brienne because she has a naive sense of honor. He didn't have to save her, but he did because he respects her integrity. I think the show opened with Jaime doing one of the worst things a person can do (trying to kill a child), now it's either relative redemption or death. I can only imagine what Tywin is going to have to say about all this once he finds out. I thought Dany had some interesting scenes this episode, I can't wait to see what happens next for her. You can tell she loathes the master of the unsullied.
  3. Not sure this was posted already. The NY ladies want more money. http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=800713
  4. I'm impressed anyone can remember. I watched seasons 1 and 2 for the first time about 3 weeks ago and I'll be damned if I can remember all the break up and makeups. It's like all a big blur of fighting, even though I enjoyed it.
  5. I think it's both. Maergery understands that she needs the love of the people. Tyrion was smart enough to know that too. Cersei is too arrogant and Joffery too crazy to care.
  6. Me too. That could be a lot of fun as long as she has a good personality.
  7. Yep, but I agree that this seems likely and would explain a lot. That's why I have a lot of compassion for both of them, even though they are hot messes. People want to believe that therapy fixes everything, but it doesn't. These two obviously need help, but it'll be nothing short of a long, hard road. It seems almost irresponsible for Brovo to keep Kim because it seems like she's only getting worse under the spotlight, not that I know that for sure, since I only see what Brovo shows me.
  8. Kyle is a really interesting character to me. I think some day we are going to find out that absolutely horrific things happened to Kim and/or Kyle in their childhood. It's not an excuse for Kyle's behavior, but I do think that certain experiences can be formative and are not easily overcome. Kathy seems healthier. Maybe because we haven't seen to much of her or maybe because she escaped whatever happened, since she was older. The relationship between Kyle/Kim is just so unhealthy and interdependent. It's like Kyle really needs Kim to be sick. She's obsessed with her sister on some strange level. The way she was spying on her in Hawaii was just OTT. Sometimes you have to just let things go and let other people live. Kyle seems completely incapable of that. She has a husband and 4 kids and yet the primary relationship in her life seems to be her sister. I really do not understand why Kyle would let her relationship with Lisa crumble, but I suspect it's show drama to some extent. Kyle seemed markedly nicer in season 1. I'm a little suspicious that the producers asked her to create more drama. idk.
  9. Do you mean because Kyle doesn't have implants? Or because she's out classed. I kind of like it that they have a couple of people on the lower end of the BH's ladder on the show. Makes it a little more interesting to me.
  10. I agree. I feel for Porsha. Not every one is born with a high IQ. Being a little dim isn't a choice. I think she was definitely in this marriage for the long haul and she thought her husband was too. I think she tried to do things like charitable work and have children. She talked about having a career, but I'm not sure what she was talking about exactly, since I haven't seen all of season 5 yet. If Kordell is gay, he not only defies most stereotypes, but he's unlike any gay man I've ever known. It seems more likely he's bi. I just can't see a man being so controlling of a woman who was merely a beard. No, I've seen 1, 2 and part of 5. 5 is actually what got me into the RH's franchise. 3 sounds good, so I look forward to seeing it, once i get through all of 5 and season 3 of BH.
  11. I'm going to have to add Kenya to my list of favorites. I think she's got a really good personality. Her "fabulous" video was genius. Then you add her issues with being an unmarried woman in her 40's who wants children and her breast cancer scare, all these issues are good reality TV, imo. I'm not entirely sure how much acting Kenya is doing, but I always like watching her.
  12. Actually, I think Lisa is the true master at knowing what fans want. She is quite perfect. She has the glamor, but she always makes sure to point out that she has a work ethic. She has a great sense of humor. She's also very quick to point out her insecurity (not really the right word, since I think Lisa is very confident) around Camille and Brandi's physical perfection. I think she has done a very good job of putting herself as much on the side of this show's target audience as she possibly could given her own wealth and beauty. She's really the whole package, imo. Nene is great with the humor, but she also shows vulnerability. I guess Kim Z sort of hits the Honey Boo Boo part of the audience. Some people love trashy. I see Kim Z as very smart. I think she knew exactly how she portrayed herself. She's the anti-Lisa in many ways. She went out of her way to shove her conspicuous consumption in people's faces, but she managed to be entertaining. Brandi, I haven't seen enough of her yet. I'm just starting season 3 of BH. I think she is so beautiful, that it's probably very difficult for large sections of the female audience to relate to her. Still, being publicly humiliated by EC makes her more sympathetic. I may envy her perfect ass, but how could I not sympathize with her when she ran into the waitress that was screwing her husband at Lisa's party? Kyle and Kim also made me feel for Brandi when they ganged up on her and made her tear up during game night. They did her a favor there, imo.
  13. But that led to the best Real Housewives inspired video (I'm Fabulous) ever, so it was well worth it.
  14. Kyle's a pretty good actress. It took me about a season and 1/2 to realize that she has a serious mean girl side. I'm on episode 12 of season 1 and it's becoming clear to me that her nasty scenes aren't just an aberration. I don't consider her straight up evil though. At times she cuts through the nonsense in a productive way. She seemed to have Cedric's number from jump and warned Lisa, for example.
  15. Faye has such an odd face. Sometimes she looks downright beautiful and then other times, it's like she's a whole other person.
  16. Why do you think this? That would be something else if it's true and it came out on the show. I feel like the only safe marriage is Lisa/Ken and that's because Ken is a dependent, cuddly little house cat. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  17. Once you start watching a show like this...Shame goes right out the window.
  18. I believe it. I think it's very possible to want a character you dislike to be on this sort of show. These shows need [!@#$%^&*] starters. They also need the sane reasonable people like Lisa, imo. Lisa is really a wonderful character because she manages to be smart, sane, reasonable, funny and catty all at once. At the same time, she is one of the people who really stepped up when Taylor was in trouble. Taylor misunderstood (maybe purposely, maybe not) Lisa's intent when she offered to open her home to her. I'll always respect Lisa for doing that, even if she wasn't quite as gentle about it as she might have been.
  19. When do we find out the official cast list for BH next season? As long as HBIC Lisa is on, I'm good. Still, I'm really curious about who else is on board.
  20. If she hadn't stood around watching the Walkers attack The Gov, maybe she would have made it to the prison. I hate it when characters do that kind of thing.
  21. That was a good promo. A nice look at Mance and the dragons. I only wish these promos had come out a month or two ago. I think that would have built up anticipation better.
  22. Yes. I'm starting to really get excited for season three. Just two more weeks to wait.
  23. Another promo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCQnSokNfXY
  24. I'll look forward to seeing that, once I've caught up. I'm almost at the end of season 1. I agree with JP on not wanting to see too much of the younger children. I don't mind so much on Atlanta because those women don't seem as fundamentally damaged to me as the BH's ladies. That $60,000 party that Taylor threw for her 4 year old was so hard to watch and that was before I knew how things turned out for Russel and Taylor. That child seemed like a unhappy little prop in that episode. Lisa was dead right that child would have been happier with some pin the tail on the donkey, cupcakes and her own friends. Instead it was all about Taylor impressing other people with money she didn't really have, in a house she was pretending to own. Just sad.
  25. Yeah, it was the kid's music teacher. Maybe he'll sue all these ladies. I would love to know what Kathy Hilton thinks of her sisters doing this show. She almost has to hate it. Wish I could be a fly on that wall.
