  1. The Haunting of Hill House was surprisingly good.

Looks too scary for my taste.

It might be. There is a lot of family drama. It's almost soapy.  I've seen people say that the trailer was a lot scarier than the show.  It was definitely understated horror, imo. A few creepy moments, but for me only a few scary scenes. At the same time if you are someone who is bothered by any horror (which my husband is) this would be a show to avoid.

Absolutely loved it. The creepy moments did scare me but they were doing minimally and with great effect. Loved the fact that there were also touching moments.

  2. Jake Weary has turned out super hot. Still, all I can see is his mother's (Kim Zimmer) eyes. I guess "knowing" a guys mother tends to ruin their sexy for me.

  3. I'll be gone for a few days due to computer issues.  Take care SON.

Thanks! It took one new video card and a lot of frustration to find out it was a cord. Meanwhile my husband is in IT.:lol:

  4. I keep getting redirected to the video ads embedded on the page. This happens even when I'm in the middle of writing a post. Very annoying.

  5. I wish I could say I'm surprised by the mistrial in the Michael Slager case, but I'm not. Even with a video as chilling as the one in this case some people won't convict. I guess the bright side is that he'll be retried.

  6. Someone in my FB timeline just said people making $50,000 shouldn't have a kid. LMAO. This is in Omaha no less. Thank God my parents didn't think that way. Some people have no idea how much they have.

For all the talk about working class vs. rich vs. poor, it's obvious that people have no idea what's a livable wage. I saw somebody berating my senator Sherrod Brown saying that he was a member of the one percent. Congressional salaries are public record. He makes $287K. That's a good living but it's not even close to being in the one percent.

I hear you. I'm no trying to say a person would be living in luxury on 50K. I wouldn't want to try it in someplace like SF or NYC with a child that is for sure.

  7. These sexual harassment allegations against Casey Affleck are pretty awful. If he did it, I hope he pays, unlike so many in Hollywood.http://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/casey-affleck’s-dark-secret-the-disturbing-allegations-against-the-oscar-hopeful/ar-AAkE8u5?li=BBnb2gh

I'd never heard of this. To be honest I've never heard of Casey Affleck much period aside from knowing he was an actor like his brother. It sounds just awful. I can't help wondering how these women must feel knowing that the only reason the media now seems to care is because they need a contrast to Nate Parker.

I've never heard of this either, although if I'm honest, I don't really pay much attention to either of the Affleck brothers.

These allegations are making my stomach turn.

  8. Thoughts and prayers for Kassie DePaive. Sounds like she is going to beat it thank goodness. http://www.kassiedepaiva.com/

  9. I feel bad for Shannen Doherty. I hope she gets well.

  10. This video of Alton Sterling basically being executed, I just feel sick.

I have been warned by a number of people not to watch the video and so I haven't. Reading the details of what happened was enough to fill me with sadness. I cannot imagine how anyone can justify it.

Right now, it matters little where one lives. This is a national problem. I have no hope right now, except to pray and hope that none of my my relatives (male and female) living in the U.S. becomes a victim. I have no hope except to pray that I am not somehow a victim. Sandra Bland on her way to work truly sent a message to me that Black women can be in jeopardy as well.

  11. If you watched CNN tonight, you certainly know where Christiane Amanpour stands on this EU referendum.  I've never seen her get so visibly irritated.

  12. I just watched my neighbor's car get repossessed. A single grandma raising her grandchildren. Sometimes this world just sucks.

  13. Elizabeth Warren. Hell yes!

Me too. She dragged Trump tonight.

  14. I saw Richard Simmons has been hospitalized for "strange behavior". Sure, that brought a joke or two to mind, but it sounds like something strange is going on with him, if this story is to be believed. http://interactive.nydailynews.com/2016/03/richard-simmons-disappeared-twisted-mystery/

  15. I can't believe Alexander Skarsgard is going to be the lead in the Legand of Tarzan movie. So, so cheesy.

I wonder why this is being brought back again. It seems out of step with modern times. I guess it's the Jungle Book doing so well.

It seems like every decade or so someone decides it needs to be remade. Each time it becomes more of a parody. It's not a concept that has aged well that is for sure.

I like the Tarzan story,   Greystoke was the best movie though, if anybody hasn't seen it.   Yeah it is a little dated and perhaps corny, but Tarzan is a cool character and it would be so easy to insert him into modern tales regarding extinction, hunting and so on.   That dentist last year should have run into Tarzan as he was hunting and killing animals and I am sure Tarzan would have set him straight.   It just has a solid foundation of a story even as a romance, which is why it has survived a hundred years I guess.    When they don't treat is right and make it silly with Bo Derek or whatever, then it is bad.

  16. There is a soap actress who has really been attention wh0ring on twitter today. I'm a fan, but damn, just stop.

OK, not NLG. It's a Days actress. I don't want to say the name because it won't surprise me at all if she visits this site. She's very active on twitter.

Also, if you follow her you either know who I mean or you have a very high tolerance for attention grabbing.

I have nothing else to do, so I just investigated, and I think I know who it is. Only one of their contract actresses has really been tweeting a lot in the last few days.

  17. Watching Morgan Fairchild on CNN right now. She looks pretty damn good.

if the show was in better shape, Id love to have her on Days as a sister/rival to Kate

  18. David Milch lost 100 million dollars gambling. I feel sick for his family. http://www.tvguide.com/news/nypd-blue-creator-david-milch-gambling-debt/

It IS scary, but it was also inevitable.  I've heard and read all the stories about Milch's gambling addiction, stretching all the way back to "Hill Street Blues," when he would take off to Vegas after each week's work.

To lose it all at 70 years of age though. Now he owes the IRS 17 million. I hope the Deadwood movie happens and that he gets a good chunk of what he owes from that. Owing Uncle Sam that kind of money has to be painful.

  19. I won't celebrate the death of any non violent human, but I'm glad Justice Scalia is no longer on the Supreme Court.

We'll see. I'm going to be an optimist and believe that President Obama will win this fight. I've been hearing some of the pundits talk about ways he could make it harder for the Republicans to block the vote. *fingers crossed*

They can't hold off a nomination for the whole year. Getting confirmation is another story.

  20. The super bowl is a strange spectacle, but I'm happy for Lady Gaga. That could have gone very wrong.

I like football, but I don't get all psychotic over it, but I have to say the parade of MVPs was an amazing moment in the history of American culture.

Lady Gaga singing the National Anthem was literally the only thing I was interested in.

  21. 12 hours before the blizzard is supposed to start and they are running a constant ticker at the bottom of the screen. So annoying.

Yep. I grew up North of Albany NY. A foot of snow was just another day there and a place like Omaha should be able to take it without all the fuss too.

  22. Has anyone watched Mad Dogs on Amazon Prime. It's a hot mess, but I keep watching the next episode. I just wish one of these characters would did deep and show either some grit or brains.

  23. President Obama is my hero today.

This is great. And about damn time, too.

  24. I'm watching old episodes of "24". I'd forgotten what a great character Sherry Palmer was.

  25. I keep hoping the weather will turn, so I don't have to go to dinner at the (crazy sexist, racist) Republican's house. Where is that freezing rain I was promised? Starting next year we are having dinner at home, even if it'll be small.

You called that right Marceline. People spent a lot of time cooing over Nate, so when drunk, crazy tried to start political conversations no one paid any attention. Plus he was a great excuse to leave early.
