I am pretty sure Ned pushed Brenda onto Jax by having her return the ring Lois got from him-hence Jax/Brenda's first scene with the pinball machine at the penthouse.  It was all for a very short period of time and they shifted Jax completely to Brenda quickly.  Jax was definitely serious about it at the very, very beginning, but the show must have found out RS was pregnant and/or leaving very soon after IR was cast because it was dropped fast.

Although when they recast Lois with Lesli Kay-Jax did say Lois was the only woman he fell in love with at first sight, but it was in a joking sort of way.  So maybe Lois was always the one that got away for Jax lol. 

I don't specifically remember IR and RS having any great chemistry.  It could have been interesting I guess. IR definitely had much more with VM immediately.

Probably.  As was the fact that Jax has the poofiest hair and a similarly ridiculous outfit on for the beach but Brenda decided she needed to make out with that right then lol.  At least Ingo put on a speedo later on in the trip and that was worth it.  I know GH used a special or famous house for that Malibu shoot and I used to see it on other shows and movies and always giggle they were using Jax's house.

She didn't really.  Brenda's deal was she would help Jax get Lois if Jax helped her make Sonny jealous.   I think Brenda even told Ned/Lois about it.  It was devious on Brenda's part to make Jax think she was going along with it, but she never really was.  Nor did she think Jax would get Lois away from Ned.  So basically Brenda's just been playing Jax since 1996 lol..  Idk, Jax never seemed that serious about the Lois thing, but he bought her a huge ring and would openly hit on her for a few months.

Lol! I question why a 21 or 22 year old woman would wear that even in 1996.  With the chunky shoes, but Brenda did like a pantsuit back then.   And Jax is wearing a beige and cream full ensemble.  Normally, I would say it's just the era, but the show went out of their way to say they went shopping on Rodeo and that's what they got lol.  I am sure it was popular back then, but it looks better suited for a career women in the 70's for sure.

Brenda/Jax did get married really quickly.  I don't think they knew each other for more than 4 months lol.  Jax had some pretty good wooing skills back then though.

I don't think she is either.  But, again, the opportunity for organic conflict is there -- Ciara feels comfortable providing financially for their family, but Ben is determined to provide for them and be an all-around better dad to their kid than Clyde was to him and Jordan -- and Ron Carlivati's ignoring it completely.  We should be enthralled with the lengths that Ben would go to to support the family.  Instead, we're being forced to watch dumb [!@#$%^&*] about gender reveal parties and the devil laying claim on the baby for reasons we're still not 100% clear about.

I don't think Days has done organic conflict since like 1993, but I agree.  

I assume the devil wants the kid because it will be ridiculously good looking and probably dumb and slightly evil.  Like why wouldn't the devil just take Henry when the devil is in Allie's body and the child was the product of rape and an evil man as well?

Here's the thing about Ciara's wardrobe.  The dress is ugly-no question-but VK is wearing Free People, Reformation, Revolve, etc. dresses that are meant to be oversized.  Not maternity.  Super popular brands with cute, expensive clothes, but they aren't meant for that purpose, so I think they don't always fall right or look right at that far along in a 'pregnancy'.   But that's the retail manager in me so ignore it.  I just think the show is letting VK pick things that aren't the most flattering or appropriate because she's trendy IRL.

At least Shawn was able to drop some truth bombs on Belle even though her attitude remains awful.

Idk, I thought I heard Ciara yapping about working at Titan or getting her job back there awhile ago.  Her attire on the show suggests she does not work at a business conglomerate though.  I do think Ben still works at the garage though.  Someone has to work.

Agreed.  I don't necessarily like what I've seen of Fath as a person, but I liked her as Mimi always.  Honestly, they can just recast her with the actress they used on the web series if not.   Days has more reliance on it's 80's star than any other soap and they never built up the next generations very well.  I swear Days probably has the oldest median age of cast members on all soaps lol.

Yup.  Pocket is still out there somewhere.  Since Phillip has no children it would be great to bring him back, but I don't think Pocket's been mentioned since he left lol.  He should probably be older than Allie/Johnny, but in that range.

Once upon a time, I really would have made a bigger deal out of Ben unable to find work due to his criminal background.  Even now, with a baby on the way, we should see Ben struggle to provide for his growing family financially, and the toll that that takes on his and Ciara's marriage.  (Especially when the only gig he can land is one at a strip club, trading on his past notoriety as the "Necktie Killer.") But that ship has probably sailed.

I am always unclear if Ciara has a job.  Does she work at Titan? Ben works at the garage still, right?  There should be a lot more angst about Ben having a child and the financial responsibilities, but I guess the devil wanting to steal their child is bigger angst-even though much stupider.

But Ben turning to sex work to support his family would be a plot point I could enjoy.

Eric arrives in Salem Friday April 15.
He'd be perfect for helping Shawn.  Eric is a counselor (both as a priest and as a lay person) and Eric was raped by Kristen, so Eric knows what it's like to be a male rape victim.  And Eric is very compassionate.

That's sounds pretty good.  I know Ron would never take the time to make that work, but it would be a really good way to tie in multiple characters that should be in a story together.  Could you imagine Jan trying to seduce Grandpa John?  Lol he put her in a coma.

It was interesting because the Days promos seemed snarky about the whole thing, whereas Beemer's interview was all serious using words like traumatized, violated, humiliated.

It's unfortunate that Beemer has to clear up points of the story for us.  It seems like Shawn does feel traumatized, but, again, it's much more about Belle's point of view. I wish Shawn had family not named Ciara to talk to this about.  I am not sure BB is strong enough of an actor to convey the way he feels, but I don't think days is playing it snarky on the actual show.

I do think DF and MM have some chemistry and it's clear EJ has a fondness for Belle.  It's poorly motivated, but I think people here were calling this affair after their first scenes together (it may have been me lol).  Idk, I do feel like a lot of EJ's story got really messed up with Ali not being available unexpectedly.  So I'd like to think there was more plans to delve into this earlier and it got delayed or shelved for awhile.  Listen, I have said this before, I hope the real Belle was actually adopted on the black market and one day the real, awesome Belle will appear.

Anyhow, I do see that as the way the story will end up.  Shawn/Belle getting back together and getting the kid either through court or Jan falling into another coma.   I actually can't wait for the EJ/Belle affair just to watch Sami's head explode lol.  It will be worth it just for that.  It be better if it was Carrie, but we can't have nice things on this show.
