Am I the only one curious why Marlena is handling this whole Belle is the devil thing with Susan and Ben? Not Belle's husband and father? I have no problem with Belle as the devil but did Susan and Ben have to figure it out? I liked Will calling out Johnny. I am not sure why more people haven't had bigger issues with the movie moving forward. The TR stuff is not that interesting to me. But, man, he bought enough drugs for like 50 people. That was a huge bag of heroin, coke, or whatever it was supposed to be lol.

This is why flashbacks would be helpful. Even just to give us a hint of some context or interactions. There have been none of Renee. If the show can't afford flashbacks of PS or these actors then the story should have been scrapped. Even the Possession story got a great deal of flashbacks to set it up and the devil possession is much more famous, more recent, and objectively much easier to understand. The Renee story isn't very easy to understand and the show is using a few moments of exposition from a select group of characters to try to explain it. And Jamey Giddens is filling in the gaps poorly on twitter. I don't know the median age of Days viewers anymore, but I assume at least a good portion (like myself) weren't born when Renee was on the show. I can't see them being able to understand it without having to look up the character on the internet. I don't think a viewer should have to do homework to be able to enjoy a story. Outside of it being awful, the name dropping (Don, Alex, David, etc) isn't very relevant and like you said a bunch of characters lost in time for the most part.

Agree 100%. I love name drops like Eli saying Shane told him to call Billie the other day. Perfect use of history and a name. This is a story built around a character but doing no respect to the character. It's useless. I agree it's on LG to do the homework and it just writing on paper as Renee for her, but at least conjure up the image of Renee or what Renee would think of herself on paper. Not some dimwitted fool who can't tell people have aged or that Xander is not Alex Marshall. It's not respecting history it using history to manipulate the audience into thinking it's a good story by name dropping a super old, fairly obscure character. Just because Jamey Giddens can remember a name and a story doesn't mean it translates to good writing.

Agree 100% about the Brady family including John. DH had a different chemistry with the siblings but it worked. I also want to say I always thought Drake and Christie Clark had such wonderful chemistry as (faux) father and daughter. You could tell they adored each other off screen. Re GH- Obviously Sonny/Brenda would be my #1 as a hot romantic relationship, but I loved Lois, Ned, Brenda, Sonny, Robin, and Stone as friends. It was believable and nice to have actual friendships that felt like real friendships.

Agree 100%. It's literally Ron repeated the something that was popular over and over because he doesn't have any better ideas. It's so stupid to use Chad? Leo is a con artist-he's not an idiot. He knows Will and Sonny are on to him, do those two think Leo will be so blinded by lust with Chad that he will fall for this? If Ron brought Sonny/Will in to deal with Johnny, Allie, Arianna, the movie, EJ's trial, anything other than this I would be fine. It's a silly side story. Perhaps this will end quickly and they can deal with real stories after this. I just can't believe BRADY saying Chloe needs help brought them to Salem. Not Will's mom's kidnapping, Sonny's father's remarriage, the Possession of Will's grandma, the movie being made, among many other plots they could be useful in. It's like Ron thinks Will/Sonny are only worth writing for if they are doing silly gay stuff. It's annoying. I am not mad they are back, but I am mad at how they are being used for sure. And, you know what, if Craig is being conned should we feel bad? He left his wife of years because he was too afraid to tell her he was gay and treated her badly. He's a 55 plus grown man-if he get's hurt, oh well.

Yeah, I am pretty sure every character involved has mentioned it to some degree and Beyond Salem was even briefly set up on the main show. I don't mind Will and Sonny being involved in the Craig/Leo stuff, but why do they all care that much? None of them are close to Chloe and it's 2 consenting adults. I know it's just an excuse for wacky hi-jinks between Chad, Will, Sonny, and Leo which was popular on the spinoffs, but c'mon Will/Sonny can do something better. The hospital board is really harsh if they won't let Marlena resign or retire and just fire her after 40 years lol!

Is Paul still paralyzed? I am not sure why they brought Leo back to be Craig's boyfriend and why they are playing it for laughs. I can't see Craig being in love with a guy that acts like Leo. Attracted to? Maybe, but serious about a guy that says lines like that? Craig is gay. He shouldn't have lost all his sense of taste in people.

That makes sense. It's rare for Deidre to openly claim she dislikes working with someone, so she really must have. Plus, Marlena had gone through a lot in those years: twin takeover, her child's death, her husband cheating, a divorce, etc. That whole era was just one thing on top of the other for Marlena. I can understand why it was taxing and not really necessary for Marlena as a character because she had a lot going on already.

Well, that's an improvement. I still don't know if I like the hair. Re love scenes: I haven't seen a good love scene on Days in years. The Ben/Ciara and Xander/Sarah stuff is cringeworthy not sexy. I'd rather fade to blacks for all couples than to watch things that are just tacky. Not disagreeing with anyone-I just don't think Days is capable.

Yes, but at least I feel better that PD didn't intentionally want her hair to look like that on national television.

A brief perusal of twitter tells me the hair is back to red, so I think there was a reason for that awful wig in the first place.

Bonnie's giving her a makeover today, so maybe that will help or maybe it will make it worse. I am not watching at the moment, but will keep you posted.

I really liked Jax, but outside of everything being tainted, 2000 isn't a particularly good period for him. Chloe/Jax are so boring. And just speaking of looking for things on you tube, even before Ingo was the worst, he never built up a following the way Brenda or Sonny or Carly did so almost all his stories on you tube are buried in those sub-channels. But when I have time I will find this promo!!

I am under the impression anyone man or woman would spark with CS's Paul.🤣 Nancy does look pathetic. I am not saying it's unrealistic. I couldn't even imagine the rug being pulled out from under me like that, but Nancy's a fighter. She wouldn't act like this.

Mean. I actually don't think Marlena looks stupid THAT often. Maybe she disliked the rape scene because it was so violent and/or realistic? The scene itself wasn't, but the aftermath and everything. If you think about it Marlena mostly deals in ridiculous threats of violence-kidnapping, brain chips, Possessions, bombs, serial killers, etc. Not things that would happen to most people in real life. Maybe DH prefers that. Too bad she did good work. I really can say she was a good actress throughout her entire first run. Again, it's like the minute JER told her she was going to be Possessed she lost the ability to act.

I have never heard anything about Joe and Deidre off camera. I have never heard of Joe having issues at all with anyone. I assume just colleagues. Outside of a select few, Dee says she's just colleagues with everyone even Drake. And they act like bff when they do anything for the show. I wonder if Dee would have objected to that pairing just based on principle because it would be so off for Marlena? But then again, judging from stories she willingly played and promoted I am not sure DH cares that much about character integrity 🤣

It would have completely neutralized Stefano as the big bad though and I don't think JER would have wanted that. Plus, I don't see how you could get around the John factor. Even if there were no romantic interest between them, I can't imagine John letting his young daughter near Stefano-and he's not wrong. Marlena would just be the idiot on this.

Today they did a little bit. In the movies they were much more lovey-dovey. I think their interactions fit the scenes. Some of the couples on the show are constantly so physically on top of each other that it seems smothering. But I never thought any incarnation of Will and Sonny was hotter than either were with Paul Well Nancy probably didn't recognize Maureen's new name and face and Bonnie didn't recognize Nancy with that wig lol.

JER loved Marlena so much I doubt he would get rid of her even if the Network wanted her out. I can't imagine her with Stefano, but maybe if stayed amnesiac for a long while a brief flirtation could have happened. But he kidnapped her, her husband, and did whatever he did to John. I just can't see her with Stefano for any length of time or anything serious. But, honestly, there was really no one else on the canvas to pair her with. Maybe Abe? If Lexie ended up with Jonah or something. They probably would have brought Wayne back or recast Roman if John/Kristen really took off. Something tells me even if they did, JER would have stayed true to his Jarlena vision and made Kristen evil regardless. There was no reason to dump WN/Roman if JER wasn't sure you know?

Yes. This is when Eva Longoria appeared as a Brenda lookalike. I can find the actual scenes on you tube not the promo. She starts around the 12:30 mark. The clip has some of the backstory, but it has a lot of Jax/Chloe lol.

I swear my friend told me there was a promo all week, but to be honest I don't remember it in real time. I want to say I did see it on you tube and it wasn't explicitly showing her face, but her from behind and her with the sunglasses on. You could clearly tell it was Vanessa. It also showed a ton of Brenda/Jax flashbacks so that was probably a give away as well. *I'll look for it. It's a pretty deep dive into Brenda return promos on you tube though lol When you look back on the story it's actually pretty obvious she was going to appear, but I was shocked, so even if they were teasing it her #1 fan missed it. I was an on and off watcher back then, so I must have expected something to tune in, but I did like Jax a ton back then.

Same. Adrienne and Justin ran through about 10 years of story in like 3 years, so I forget things and do understand why they were written off. I thought JE looked fantastic today and I do love Wally Kurth, but I have never taken to Justin/Adrienne and especially not Bonnie/Justin. I would prefer Wally spent all his time as Ned on GH.

That's cold, but probably true lol. For some reason I thought there were 2 biological Justin/Adrienne kids, but I am wrong. I didn't realize Sonny was born in 1991. He's older than Belle/Brady.🤣 There is still a chance Bonnie is really Adrienne right? I know it's not shown on screen yet, but it's always been my assumption they were somehow switched and we will find it out eventually.

Is Sonny just his favorite because he's the only one that exists? Because, up until the recast, I would be sad if Sonny was his favorite child.🤣 Maybe they will bring them back one day. I just giggled when Justin asked Sonny why he didn't come to his first wedding. And I was thinking none of your kids did lol.
