Yeah, this is why Evan shouldn't have been painted into this corner where he's in jail. He should be in town running around as a conflicted bad guy forced to do evil things by his dad while no one knows. RSW probably wouldn't play gay, but he seems like someone who wants to keep his job so he might.

Evan should meet Paul. He'd drop women forever. He doesn't have good taste in the female department anyhow. I don't remember hating Sonny/Evan based on chemistry or anything like that. Just at how contrived Will/Sonny's breakup was. Will/Ben is a fun idea until you realize he tried to kill him. How on earth they could be friends, cellmates, or even lovers is beyond me, but it's a nice fanfiction idea🤣 Regarding today's episode, Belle is such an awful friend telling Chloe she shouldn't judge because of Chloe's history. Chloe should have snapped back at Belle about HER own history. No wonder they hardly share scenes. Belle is horrible to be around. I did like her hitting Jan with an oar though.

They were definitely dating while Evan was Rafe's nanny for his own son lol. That's a weird sentence to write. Chad is definitely in denial but I wouldn't be shocked if Tripp or Johnny were too🤣

No lol. I was just thinking there were a few male characters on the cast I could see as bisexual, but aren't as of yet. Like Chad.

The dresses on the bed were from when Jen/Jack were picking out Abby's funeral dress. I guess they didn't clean them up and neither did the maid.

So, I was thinking about the whole funeral thing and I don't think it was necessary to give Abby an onscreen funeral if it was just going to be 5 people. You can actually do a good episode of mourning without it. If Days structured the episode better and made the focus on Abby and her life with flashbacks and threw a few bucks at licensing a song for a montage it could have worked. GH did it well years ago when they killed off Brenda in the 90's. She didn't get a funeral and we just saw people close to her preparing to go to the funeral and remembering her with flashbacks and a final montage. Then they showed the entire town empty (Kelly's, the Q mansion, Jax's, etc, etc) to show everyone was at her funeral and how important she was to the town. Ron could have directly cribbed something like that. Honestly, they could have tightened up the episode to feature less people to save money with that strategy, got a nice song, and then picked up after the funeral. The scenes with Chad and the clothing would have been more meaningful with a few flashbacks.

At least it was black lol. Ciara hasn't dressed appropriately to a single occasion since VK has played her. VK loves the tightest, sexiest things she can find and I guess no one in wardrobe cares. She's the antithesis of Abby and her wardrobe of loose prairie frocks.

I think her father was Marlena's colleague and that's who Marlena thought she was calling, but he died and she showed up instead. And then Charlotte hated Marlena for about 30 years because the dad liked Marlena better or something. It was silly. Yeah, with Ava most of her first run is forgotten except for the Steve stuff obviously. It's like Ava is two different characters these days. She could have been a long term vixen, but she's not even vixen-y anymore just someone who cooks pasta and has silly revenge plans. Maybe Jake can help her out. But, frankly, at the end of the day I'd rather see both of those two on GH instead.

I don't think John/Ava would work now. Not because of Marlena even, but it's strange the entire hookup/relationship was written out of existence. It wasn't a secret or anything. Marlena knew. I thought TB and DH had decent chemistry honestly, but it wouldn't help Ava out. Drake appears like 2 times a month lol. That was quite the dress Ciara was wearing to Abby's funeral lol. I am sure she has a bunch of appropriate sailing gear. Thanks! I couldn't remember the BTS details of John's story, but I remember there was a lot of Marlena standing by him forever and ever and then the next week wanting a divorce and John having breakthroughs but then never wanting to get his memory back. I do THINK it was a decent idea for an arc and it just went sour. Idk what the plans were for John/Marlena before they got fired, but I don't think it was that blink and you miss it shrink stuff (Charlotte was her name I believe). It makes no sense to have the audience wait through John's death, then the RoboJohn stuff to just end it with a paralyzed John remembering everything and marrying her in a hospital room in half an episode lol. I was so upset as a fan for that exit. But, yeah, I don't think Ava has interacted with EJ or John since she returned and it's not like she has a bunch of other people to interact with and they kept the thread of her friendship with Nicole from back then.

It was very brief. John was RoboJohn evil still and divorced (separated?) from Marlena, but TB either left or was fired and the whole story was dropped and Ava abruptly left town. Ava and RoboJohn were scheming against Phillip I think. The whole RoboJohn story got really muddled and perhaps a triangle with John/Ava/Marlena was a thought or plan, but Ava jumped bail and left town and it appears no one really talks about it. I have never heard Ava or John mention it again.

I don't think Cady is doing a good job with this material at all and have said that. Some episodes are better than others with her. In her defense though, I do think CM was hurt by Missy appearing so recently. I can't imagine Missy playing any of these scenes like Cady. Seeing Missy play Jen just made me compare the two more so than I did when Cady first started because Missy as Jen wasn't quite as fresh in my mind. I also think it throws off Matt's performances because he doesn't connect as well or have the years of history with Cady. Anyhow, the show should just keep one or the other. This veers on the Classic Days thread territory, but I was watching a clip of the RoboJohn story and Ava and John were together. I remembered this vaguely and thought it was just random, but she was actually pretty involved with the disk being destroyed and told John she loved him before she left town. Anyhow, long story short, has this ever been mentioned again on the show? Do they even acknowledge Ava/John dated or even know one another? I can't even remember John/Ava sharing scenes together since then. Does John even remember what he did as RoboJohn? lol

I don't want to actually defend CM because I have made fun of his constant smirking forever, but it does seem like a nervous tick or something because he can't be that bad at acting. It has to be something he doesn't realize he is doing all the time. I don't believe Days employs a good acting coach or director or even cares about a take if all the lines are vaguely right, so it probably won't change.

Yeah, the twins were never 12 onscreen. They might have been a little older than they should of been in 1991 (I am horrible with ages but they looked about 10 ish). I believe Sami was only 15 when she came back and through the bulk of the affair story, but she was at least aged 5 years. Belle (and Brady to an extent) screw everything up royally especially when the show constantly references the kidnapping by Sami (which seems to be a Ron thing because I don't remember it being brought up that often by other writers) and John/Marlena's 1986 wedding, so Belle was born before John/Marlena even met lol. There are worse cases of SORASing or de-SORASing like Sarah/EJ, but the show doesn't constantly reference events that happened in regards to their characters that are time sensitive. No one ever really brings up the fact EJ was thought to be John's when he was a baby or Sarah catching Maggie/Neil together as a 2 year old lol. I think Ron finds the Sami/Belle kidnapping an amusing fact and almost thinks it funny to bring it up so often. Like, realistically, I don't think Belle is still angry about a kidnapping that happened when she was a baby and can't remember. And who told her about it and the details of her conception? I can't imagine John/Marlena did. I am really curious how she found out. I imagined Sami just blurted it out one day off camera.

I would make David around Kayla's age if he were alive. A little younger than Tony, Marlena, Roman, et all, but significantly older than Eric, Brady, Sami, Lucas etc. Vanessa Williams looks to be 59, MBE is 61, SSH is 78, LA is 40 so 60 seems like the right age to land for David considering Julie was a young mom and I assume Eli is supposed to be younger than LA. Weirdly I don't consider Julie to be a contemporary of Abe/Roman. Even though age wise they are-to me I consider them younger and a different generation. I lump them in with Bo/Hope/Marlena/John/Patch. I put Julie in the Victor/Maggie category. And before someone tells me Josh Taylor is the same age as SSH-I know. It's just an actual perception thing on my end. I consider Marlena's age group to be a different generation because they led stories for so much longer than Julie whose been an "older" character since Hope was a teenager.

Well, I would assume these people had savings or a source of income which I don't think Ben/Ciara do lol. Unless Ciara's just blowing her trust fund. 🤣 Fair.

I totally think Ciara knows her way around a boat, but Ben would have to actually learn, take courses, get a license etc. Shawn/Belle I could buy because Shawn D grew up on that boat and it was established he knew how to sail. Sailing isn't easy and it's not going to be with a newborn, so best of luck to those two lol. It's a soap so whatever, but could you imagine the actual planning it would take to sail around the world?

Yeah, I am not saying Hope/Julie don't have a loving or good relationship, but it never felt motherly in the way, say, Carrie/Marlena did-even though that's not an exact correlation. Hope/Julie have always had an overall different vibe. That being said, it would be weird to me to hear Ciara call Julie "Aunt Julie" instead of Grandma Julie simply because she's been married to her grandfather her entire life. The same way Allie/Johnny call John "Grandpa" because he's been married to their grandmother basically their entire lives. Anyway, I am still more curious how Ben/Ciara are going to sail around the world without any formal boating experience. That's more of an issue than what Ciara calls Julie lol.

Tripp's going to see Stephanie and Joey-his siblings. Not JJ. I always thought it was very clear when Hope was interacting with Doug/Julie that Julie was not her mother but her sister back in the day. It's gotten slightly more maternal over the years, but I have always thought both Hope/Julie have made it obvious they don't consider themselves mother and daughter. With the grandkids (Shawn/Ciara) I do think Julie has played more of a grandparent role especially by the time Ciara was born. I don't think any parameters were set for the kids, but I do think Jason Cook's Shawn used to say Grandpa Doug and Julie (not Aunt Julie or Grandma Julie-just Julie lol) for a while and the relationship has just morphed into Grandma Julie because it's too hard to explain or doesn't matter anymore. At the same time I don't think Ciara and Shawn are unaware that Julie is actual their mom's half sister.

TB has always been my personal favorite Carly. She had the best chemistry with MB and I liked her portrayal. SJB is great too and LW has grown on me I guess. I just think TB is capable of a lot more than cooking Italian food and losing her sh*t over stupid Rafe. Very true. Both Ciara and Zach could not physically be Bo's until they were and I don't think it's that big of a deal. John/Marlena have multiple children by other people, but it seems women in particular on this show can't if they are part of a supercouple

The only reason I want more for Ava is because TB is awesome and can do a lot. My favorite Carly for sure. Clyde is whatever for me too. I am intrigued by him and Nancy, but I would be fine with Nancy getting a nice love interest pretty much anywhere lol.

No worries. I just still think Jan and Evan for that matter could be given more and have a chance to be more long term. They could be a fun scheming new couple. To me they aren't dead end characters like Ava or Clyde who got a second chance.

I get where you are coming from, but I genuinely do think Jan has potential. She has years of history, an interesting backstory and trauma, a charismatic actress, and (until the last year) hasn't been played out. There are a lot of things you could transition her into even if she never truly gets over Shawn. Jan could be a real character if Ron put half as much work into her as he did Ben. I am not saying we ignore Jan's crimes, but seeing her get over her obsession and move on wouldn't be the worst story for me. They need to build up that Belle/Shawn/Chloe/Brady etc age group because the show has so much reliance on its older vets.

I have asked this question for YEARS!! He doesn't care about real Roman and he's the one who killed Orpheus's wife. I don't think there has ever been an explanation and they seemed to have just added that to John's backstory. It's probably too hard to explain. I am not sure Orpheus's endgame. He isn't a super villian. His target was Roman and his family because of his wife's death. He wasn't a crazy lunatic. He was a good guy gone bad. Even Stefano at his worst, most cartoonish had a specific goal or endgame for his plans even if it just was to destroy the Bradys/John or make Marlena his queen. 🤣. The whole Jan/Evan thing might be a round about way to screw with John/Marlena via their child, but it seems like a lot of work and planning to pull this whole scheme off when the only reaction is that a handful of people are a little bummed about it lol. Anyway, I actually do think Jan could work on the canvas without Shawn. I would be willing to give HL a shot to do something else. I mean, a serial killer is our leading man so...... I had to laugh at the dress Jack and Jen picked out. A beautiful prarie maxi dress from Free People bought at Nordstrom Rack. LITERALLY. It is very Marci Miller's Abby though I guess. I am just not sure that oversized piece of endless cloth would wow anyone let alone her husband.🤣 The acting was much better for CM and MA today though. JJ and Chad were good as well.

I actually like both Jan and Orpheus. I think they are both good villians. Honestly, like @te.stated, if they were allowed to scheme at a slow pace and snow people around town saying they've changed or what not without the OTT ridiculousness I think they both would be good. It's probably way too late for Orpheus now, but I generally thought in 1986 he was a much scarier villian than Stefano going after RoJohn. I wouldn't be sad if he left, but it's a shame a really good villian was ruined. I think there is still hope for Jan. If she layed off the obvious, cartoonish schemes against Shawn and Belle and integrated with people around town and perhaps entered a new romance she has a chance. I like Jan and the actress. Even if Shawn was the end goal if Jan had a few more layers I think she would work as a long term villian.
