  1. Don't apologize! Your work is invaluable. I thought it had taken place much earlier and just took a peek to see if that was the episode. And then just started looking back because it felt like the same time period. I frankly barely remember any of this era and kind of wanted to look what RoJohn was up to. Thanks again for all you do!
  2. Yeah. When I looked at the 12/21 episode John/Adrienne were talking about some keys John had stolen for, Idk, spy reasons? It did look like they were vaguely testing RoJohn/Adrienne though because John was involved? with Whitney Baker the psychiatrist that looked like Marlena and Isabella was teased with Jack.
  3. I have to agree with you. Sam wasn't much of a character outside being Jason's ride or die. Once that ended you ended up with what Sam began with. A whole lotta nothing. She really never had a distinctive personality (outside her brief villainess run). Sam just ended up being cast aside like Courtney but lived much, much longer.
  4. I just looked up that episode and I don't believe that's it. Same time frame but it appears to be from the 12/08/89 episode as long as the episodes I have are dated/numbered correctly. It's the opening scene.
  5. Lol! I won't lie. After I read work emails I immediately go to this page to see what @AbcNbc247 has to say about Days so I can prepare myself for the morning. I get lazy and don't read spoilers! @AbcNbc247 is my spoiler message for the day!!!
  6. Just know how much I appreciate that from you everyday.😍
  7. I have been watching some Days from 1984 and I was surprised at how close Marlena/Julie were. It seems like a friendship that has been lost throughout the years and I am not sure why. I know Doug/Julie were eventually made to be much older than Marlena/Roman/John and Hope/Bo became their peers, but it seems like a missed oppurtunity now. It appears SSH and DH get along quite well, so it would be lovely once RC is gone to mine that friendship again especially considering recent circumstances.
  8. I think Adrienne and possibly Justin owned a construction company. I have no idea why RoJohn would be helping out with all this, but I think 1987 is probably a good place to start by year at the very least. This is post-marriage and it seems post-Justin/Adrienne moving out and before Victor was shot and before Emilio I believe so it narrows down the time frame a bit. Late 1987 is where I would place it. At some angles the home looks a bit like RoJohn/Roman/Marlena's house that was destroyed by Orpheus's bomb, but when John called Adrienne "boss" I assumed it wasn't the same set.
  9. I thought that was a weird choice too. But RC was already ripping off an old JER story with a magical flower that John found to save Roman in some jungle with Hope in 1997. And I always thought Ron was following a bit of a throughline of Dimera's having wacky life saving plants for the sake of history. I don't think scabs were involved in the orchid story. I don't know Ron's motivations at all, but he might be letting the audience know this is all a joke and he can make jabs at his own writing too. Or he could just be completely unself aware and is making fun of Days/JER. Idk...it falls flat.
  10. I need to read spoilers more often too! Could have saved myself the annoyance lol
  11. The bottom line is everything about Body & Soul has been in bad taste. From the start.
  12. Agreed. I do think Deidre is one of Ron's faves. He's always seemed to prefer John/Marlena to Steve/Kayla. Anyhow, it felt like a skit on why soap actors get fired sometimes. Soap stars are divas and demanding.
  13. I honestly took it as a veiled shot at Deidre Hall implying certain actresses/actors/characters trump talent and throw their weight around to get others fired. But Ron seems to like Deidre so maybe I am overthinking it.
  14. Not only is it insulting, but the show made it seem like Bonnie was the better actress and that Hattie really couldn't act-she just looked like Charlamagne. So it doesn't really make sense that Hattie would be more valuable.
  15. Continuing the discussion from the previous months thread, but I can't believe this Body & Soul story was greenlit and allowed to air. Not only is it clear Ron hates soaps, his own job, and his own audience, but the "humor" is such a thinly veiled attempt for Ron to air his own personal grievances. Every time I hear one of the jokes about making a soap opera it makes me feel stupid for being a fan and watching. I am not laughing with them. Ron/Jamey are laughing at me for watching this dreck. I seriously wonder if Ron knew he was halfway out the door and wrote this as revenge. We know he's petty. I think Kate, Abe, Johnny, Chanel, Alex, and even Stephanie treat the show fairly seriously and if only they were involved I probably wouldn't hate it. Adding those idiots Bonnie, Hattie, and Leo is where it because a big joke. A few witty lines about soaps is one thing, but writing this with the intent of mocking the genre, the actors, and the fans is one of the most idiotic things I have ever seen air on daytime.
  16. Me too. This Body & Soul stuff is rough. I don't even mind it existing. I just don't need full episodes about this nonsense. Both Hattie and Bonnie are such useless characters that should have been ditched long ago. Honestly, if one day JE walks into a room and everyone just starts calling her Adrienne again and we just pretend Bonnie never existed I wouldn't even question it. Well, that would be a twist lol.....
  17. I really hope Ron's plan isn't to burn through Deidre's guarantees on Hattie because he's not sure what to do with Marlena. I don't think anyone wants that.
  18. Lol! I haven't watched the episode yet, but my thumbnail is super spoilery.
  19. Yeah. At some point I will go back and watch them when this isn't so fresh, but I remember thinking to myself they were just a really nice set of scenes between the two of them.
  20. Of course, I am disappointed and upset I have already seen his last episode air. Drake's final scenes with Deidre/Marlena were quite nice. It was normal Marlena/John couple-y stuff, but in a way it was the perfect scenes for them to end on.
  21. That's lovely. Thank you for making this! It does rattle the show to its core. It will be an entirely different Days once John is gone. Hopefully the show can move on with Marlena as its matriarch much like Alice did after Tom's passing.
  22. My greatest takeaway is how genuine he seemed. We can joke about his acting, expressions, and tics, but every relationship on the show was believable. From Marlena to his children and his grandkids on the show. All of his friendships. Drake just radiated joy and happiness playing John. You knew he was enjoying his role and enjoyed his fans. We lost a good one yesterday, but I'll always be grateful for the memories and joy he brought me.
  23. It warms my heart to see all the costar tributes! Drake really made an impression on people and seems like such a well liked man. It makes it a little easier to deal with knowing how many people will miss him and loved him.
  24. Yup! I will say almost all of my favorite memories on Days have John in them. Obviously, I am one of the biggest John/Marlena fans on this board, but he helped carry Days in the 90's. I don't think I am out of line saying that if it wasn't for Drake/John (and his stories) Days would have been cancelled years ago.
