All I wanted to convey is I think daytime soap operas can be a place for culturally, socially, even politically relevant topics. I think history (of the entire daytime drama genre) has proven that. I'm not saying it has to be this ground-breaking social and political commentary... but it's not just a mindless escapism... all the time... is my point. And that's the key - all the time. I don't mind some entertainment and escapism too. But I understand what you mean. I really do. And you are probably more right than I am. And I'm okay with that.

And that's what he is - wannabe dictator. And these people just gave him the tools and the chance to try his chance again of being one. SICK.

Amen. I have blocked so many people lately... My Facebook is now... down to 2 digits. And yes... what can I say about my narcissistic mother that says - I like Trump better than Kamala, because he just makes me laugh and he is soooo funny... How can you argue with this? This can only be cured in mental institutions or... by keeping your distance from it. That's why she won't be hearing from me this Christmas.

I also agree with this. And I think there is time and place for everything. There IS Art and Entertainment that is only Escapism. Of course there is. I don't listen to Britney Spears to get a huge revelation about my life (some may find that in her music and that's lovely)... but some Art pieces, shows, films, theatre works... are provoking, socially connected and mirroring true events. I've studied acting and I know so much about Theatre... that my head starts spinning when I think about this. What I mean is - some of the greatest plays are an exact copy of what was happening socially, politically, culturally at a specific time and place. Works that are definitely politically engaged and quite scandalous even. Some critics can even argue that some works of art have CHANGED Politics and the way Society works. But that is a long, long topic. So there is a place for THESE types of shows too.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but the only member I've seen in the last few pages that gives off a "policing people" vibe is... quite frankly - you, my dear. Don't take it personally, it's just how it feels to me. Maybe I am wrong. For example... you come up with a comment how EVERYBODY is rude to this member... without specifying who... minutes after I had just responded to them... and it just... gave me a strange vibe. These hints, without saying anything specific... just leave a feeling of being, yes... kinda POLICED. LOL. And I'm still waiting for you to specify who wrote a racist comment that you saw in this topic, (which you said that it was not the troll we all addressed). You left that comment and... didn't reveal what that comment was... and it left a bad taste in my mouth that it was left like that. Who, where and when left a racist comment? In this day and age things like that should be addressed and not swept under the rug. Again, it's up for you to decide if you are going to just leave hints... or be specific. I can only say what rubs me the wrong way. That's all.

They indeed run deep, so do other things like... homophobia... that thing that is making the comeback of the century (some would say it never left for a second and they would be right!). Kamala would have prevented that to an extend. She would have kept these people at check. She would have fought for our rights and freedoms. But guess what, these days it's starting to become a new normal for me to be stared at with disgust or even hear comments when my husband dares to hold my hand. This is something new for us to experience, but it's also new that the country (Germany) is having an unprecedented re-activation of all kinds of hate, mostly propaganda by one very toxic party. Come and visit and you'll feel it too. These past few years everything's been going downhill. And guess what... now psychotic German media and far-right crazies are acting like this is the proof of how they were right about everything... And I fear they are going to continue manipulating people till they achieve the same result here. They are going to keep giving USA as an example to push their narative. I am not sure if my marriage will be legal in couple of years... maybe one day it will not. I don't want to be too negative or paranoid... but NOTHING will surprise me anymore. Millions of people. Millions... picked dictatorship over democracy. A convicted criminal over a black woman that WORKS to save us from these kinds of people. No... they want a dictator! If they wanted a dictator so much, why didn't they migrate to Russia? Is it so freaking hard? They would have taken them with open arms... They would have felt amazing there! I'm so f-cking done. Even though I swore to myself that I was not going to drink alcohol, I went to the 24/7 liquor corner and bought a huge bottle of some cheap ass martini drink. I plan to numb the pain as much as I can.
