  1. Speaking of cruelty, the U.S. government lied to the family of Sgt. LaDavid Johnson.

Remember when his wife complained that she wasn't sure whether she was being sent an empty coffin at the airport? Well, she may have been correct in her suspicions.

  2. I knew very little about Lavar Ball because I don't really follow basketball anymore.

Now I know who Lavar Ball is and now many who had no clue who he was, even a few months ago knows who he is.  Ball is going to play his hand for all it's worth.

Meanwhile the president of the damn U.S. doesn't have the discipline to avoid these squabbles with people, mainly POC.  I'm still waiting to hear what he thinks of Eminem cursing him for filth!  He likely knows it  happened because it was trending everywhere and the video has been viewed many millions of times over!

Lavar Ball is no doubt an opportunist that is looking to make bank and he seems crafty enough to make this happen.

Trump on the other hand, shows repeatedly, why he has no business being in the White House. Daily!

Let's hope Bill Moyers was too busy drinking and driving to grope any women or force himself on them.

    I can't BELIEVE I just said that.

Probably.  Which is a shame, in a way, because I thought "CBS This Morning" really had something going with him, Norah O'Donnell and (yes, even) Gayle King.

Damn.  Say it ain't so, Charlie.

Whaat??  He has a drinking and driving problem?  Gosh, the things I don't know about these peoples' personal lives...

The end days were certainly not the best of times. Currently, I'm watching for the first time Nov 1987. I'm DYING! I haven't mentioned it on here much for fear of spoilers but I'm on the edge of my seat every day waiting to see what happens!

That was the type of storytelling I was raised on, lol!

There are certain corners of this board where we're not supposed to mention that soaps used to be good.

If only some never before posted episodes would land on You Tube. I'm forever hopeful!

    Enjoy!

  5. OMG. I feel incredibly let down by this news as I grew up watching The Charlie Rose Show on PBS.

Please don't let there be any news about Bill Moyers.

I do agree that I've felt that either Rose has stayed too long with the PBS show or he's stretched too thin with doing both shows but he is no longer as sharp as he once was. The last time I tried to watch his PBS show, I found the interviews to be lacking.

  6. Thrush claims he has done so much to help women's journalists over 20 years.  He also preyed on 20 somethings who likely only hoped for a mentor or some small guidance.

It's the Harvey Weinstein way (HW donated $$$ to women's causes and contributed to programs that helped budding women directors while simultaneously preying on women seeking a path into the business).

  7. It is sad.  I have memories of that breakdown on the shoulder of the Duchess of Kent during the trophy ceremony at Wimbledon.  I was so happy for Novotna when she eventually won the title.

It was reported that when Martina was undergoing treatment for her breast cancer, that Novotna often drove her to her appointments.

  8. Lena Dunham has had to do so many of these "apologies" over the years.

Remember the Black NFL star that she made up that entire saga about because he was looking down at his phone instead of at her?

She believes that she should be the center of attention, at all times and how dare anyone say/do anything that is at cross-purposes to what she wants?

I've never believed the hype because I've met many Lena Dunhams throughout my life, at work and at school and I usually avoid them like the plague.  They're usually self-absorbed, they drain one's energy and are likely toxic personalities.

  9. Am I the only one who used to be creeped out by the character that Tambor played on The Ropers?   Maybe because his character seemed like the sort that didn't really like children and I was child back then.

I've only seen one season of Transparent, thought it was a pretty good show but didn't really care for the kids. I don't know what characters have since become regulars but I don't know if the show could go on with just Judith Light's character, the rest of the family and some other peripheral characters.  To those of you have consistently watch the show, could it?

Barack doesn't NEED to come back.  He worked his ass off for eight years.  He has more than earned his rest; and if we're feeling remorse now, well, that's our own, damn fault.  'Cuz he tried.

I think Chance likely knows this.

The song is more like an ode to regret for taking someone for granted and realizing how life is without them.

From the Obama "crush song" (remember that?) to this, I just find it interesting how many songs have been made about Obama from then until now. I'm sort of curious to see a count of just how many songs have been penned about Obama?

Valerie Jarrett, retweeted this and thought it was pretty funny.  She thanked Chance for all he does to support young people in Chicago.

  11. Many people criticized Crash and rightfully so but Paul Haggis' statement about Hollywood's end is what I've thought for years. Most movies lose money, so the studios make the same comic book based movies year after year and the sexism and abuse of power will continue to drive promising talent far away from the axis of Hollywood.

Also, the structure of movie-making has been in a literal transformation for almost a decade.  Movie financing is less like to come from just L.A./Hollywood.
