  1. Wow, this was a shock. I haven't watched DAYS for many years, but John Black is almost a template for the ultimate soap opera hero, and much of that was down to Drake. He was always committed and gave his all, however ridiculous the story, and that commitment made sure he was always fascinating to watch. R.I.P. Mr. Hogestyn and thank you for all the years of entertainment.
  2. How can someone running for office be this stupid, even if he is a Republican.... Like so many in the comments to the video pointed out women over 50 can have daughters, granddaughters, friends, sisters etc that are under 50. How some women in the audience can laugh at his remarks is mind-blowing, because I don't think they are laughing at his stupidity.
  3. The weather is really doing its best to show that this is where we're heading....
  4. The excellence continues, and Diane Grayson has really come into her own as Janie. I think I must amend my list of the 50 best Emmerdale characters to include her.
  5. Damn this show was so good back in the early days. I've just reached the first (but certainly not the last) tragedy that hit the Sugden family: Peggy's sudden death. The episode showing the aftermath was so subdued and quiet and there was a stillness about it all that perfectly captured the shock that Peggy's death brought. Toke Townley (Sam) was absolutely pitch perfect. His scene with Rev. Ruskin was heartbreaking and the last scene with him and Annie in the dark, silent kitchen at the end of the day was just a masterclass of understated grief. This a level that today's Emmerdale could only dream of achieving.
  6. This is how it's done. Impeccable coming timing and all around greatness from a true master.
  7. You wonder? It's clear as day that she has done a little bit of this and a little bit of that. She has managed to keep from going over the top, but she has definitely had work done.
  8. "Legend" doesn't even begin to cover it. 😭 I guess it had to happen sooner or later, but it still hurts like hell. Such a fabulous, fabulous woman and one of the greatest actresses ever. Thank you Dame Maggie for blessing us with your one-of-a-kind talent for so many years.
  9. I'm not sure Janet Jackson is relevant enough anymore for this to really matter. Once upon a time perhaps, but not so much nowadays.
  10. Roger Palm, who played drums on many ABBA songs, including "Dancing Queen" and "Mamma Mia", has died aged 75 after battling Alzheimers Disease"
  11. Peppa Pig and Thunderbirds actor David Graham dies
  12. Trailblazing actress Cleo Sylvestre dies aged 79
