I’d become obsessed with “Heartbreaker” all of a sudden earlier this year. It was never a huge radio staple when I was growing up, so it wasn’t overly familiar. Dionne was rarely one to go overboard with the melismas and hooting and hollering (like some of her contemporaries and followers), but she imbues the song with such feeling. Probably her best not written by Bacharach.

I've always loved "Heartbreaker". I'm not a big fan of the Bee Gees, but they've written some great songs for other artists, including this one. (Not to mention Streisand's "Guilty" album )

I thought Rishi was a likeable character and he brought a lot of continuity to the show given that he'd been there for over a decade. He wasn't a favorite of mine, but if the show is getting rid of long term characters he wouldn't have been first on my list.

Not on mine either. There are so many other options.... Zak, Marlon, Sam, Paddy, Cain..... :P

With that said, there are some fans out there at places like Digital Spy that trashed Rishi for years and are now very upset he's gone, so I think it's a lesson for people to appreciate some of these characters while they have them.

I think that's very common. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

But I'm sure TPTB will give them some never-before-heard-of Dingle relative to ease their pain.... <_<

  3. Sheila is played out, and whatever relevance she had on B&B died with Stephanie. She was Sheila's nemesis and now there's nothing left for her to do. She needs to be written off permanently and a new villainous character could take her place if necessary. Someone new, without all the baggage that Sheila has.

  4. Funny how you can see things so differently. I always found Angela to be much better than both J.R. and Alexis. She wasn't (at least in my opinion) as clear a villain as those two were either. If anyone was the villain on Falcon Crest I'd say it was Richard. And I loved Angela's dry humour, which Jane Wyman played to perfection.

Alexis was too over the top, which of course she had to be to fit on Dynasty, and even though J.R. is iconic I could never really see any redeeming qualities in him. Maybe if Jock had been around longer J.R. would come off differently to me. I felt that that was the relationship that mattered most to J.R. and without Jock he became a bit one-note.

I can't do a comparison with Abby, because Knots Landing never aired in its entirety here, so I've only seen the first few seasons of that show.
