  1. Prime example of this for me, Rick and Abby basically were raising Michelle because Ed was never around. If a new viewer was watching GL around that time, I wouldn't blame them if they thought that Michelle was their teen daughter and not his little sister.
  2. Your idea of an exit story for Roger was fascinating to read and I would be here for it. Convoluted? Maybe but it is a soap opera after all and considering the circumstances of Zaslow's condition, it probably would have to be rushed since remember Roger's recast Dennis Parlato was on for under a year but it can be forgiven given the situation. The only issue, it will likely still lead to Holly's Nursery Rhyme Stalker mess which as someone who only watched on/off since the early 90s, I didn't buy Holly going down that path. Now that's a story I would also love to see disappear and replaced with something else. As for the problematic situation of my idea, here's where I was coming from. I hate to bring her name up but I have to in this case. While JFP will be one of my least favorite EP's in daytime (even television), I have to begrudgingly give her props for bringing back Zaz as David Renaldi on OLTL who had an advanced form of ALS which required him to have a wheelchair like Stephen Hawking. I remember seeing those scenes when they first aired and I was in tears. I think because of the progression of his illness, Zaz wasn't on that long and of course died in 1998. From my understanding, there wasn't any malicious intent in brining back Zaz, except maybe a deservingly petty one towards MADD which if that's the case I also have to give JFP her props, again begrudgingly, or complaints of problematic conditions while he was David on OLTL. I could be entirely wrong and am willing to be educated on that on my end. They could have created a way for Zaz to not be as active have minimal dialogue and pretty much let Maureen Garrett, Liz Kiefer, and (I think) Frank Grillo to carry the story (of course, Maureen would have most of the weight.) I remember seeing Patrick Mulcahy on I think Twitter mention this idea so it wasn't mine to begin with. It always stuck with me the loss potential of this storyline and that the writer who Zaz thanked in his Emmy speech was willing to do it.
  3. Making Nancy's passing mostly about Katie was a sin and a shame. I forgot if Julianne Moore was unavailable at that point but it would have been nice to have Frannie back for it instead of...whatever that was with Bob and Kim's anniversary. I agree about Lisa, having her only react to Lucinda and John in the finale is a culmination of what went wrong with the show in the last roughly 15 years.
  4. Sorry for my role in this. I will not do it again.
  5. Without a doubt, writing in ALS to Roger Thrope's story when Michael Zaslow became ill and making it an end story for Roger and Holly on GL. Instead of recasting Roger and having MADD make that disrespectful statement about him.
  6. You aren't treating @allmc2008 poorly, @Vee @Khan and @SFK. He has the need to be excessive and demand validation (speaking as a former friend of his.) I saw multiple posts of his on a Facebook group I am apart of which I know he's going to screen cap whatever makes him look good. While the Lily Montgomery comment was uncalled for and can be considered ablism @SFK, I understand that it had to get to that point because he crosses boundaries. He has posted many times on the Facebook group about how stupid people are when it comes to soap history sharing screencaps from this board. I wouldn't be posting here (reviving an old account) if this hasn't gotten on my last nerve. @allmc2008 bribing people for an apology is not going to make you friends with people whom you already burned bridges with. If you are going to share the Y&R post, share it. If not, don't dangle it around demanding that we all bow down to you every whim.
  7. I am watching early PC (I am in September '97) I am seeing why Danielle and Jake didn't last long. The story could have been interesting if the acting wasn't blah. Don't get me wrong Renee Allman (Griffin?) and Rib Hillis are beautiful creatures that would have done an amazing job as replacements of Billy Warlock and Erika Eleniak on Baywatch. It seemed like Rex and Danielle had a very weird relationship like Danielle was a sugar baby to Rex. I will keep watching to see if it will click with me. I also find it strange that I find the character who was supposed to be an actor a terrible actor. The only thing that saves it is Lynn Herring, Jon Lindstrom, and Kin Shriner. I find Wayne Northrop wasted in this story (Rex reminds me of Sideshow Bob especially when he starts playing that damn classical music.) Everything else I really love. Also, Audrey appears like 2 times since the premiere.
  8. I want to say season 2. I am almost at that season. I know Darren didn't want to spin off Models INC and Chuck took it on like a champ (I only like Chuck on Primetime soaps.) I am guessing season 2 or 3.
  9. Paloma from what I heard was eventually recast and the life got drained from her. I don't think Paloma #2 ever appeared on the NBC version.
  10. Yeah I remember that crap. I remembered I turned to Passions (which aired opposite of AMC in my area) when that scene happened. HAHA!
  11. God Passions would be great on Netflix or even Hulu. I remember scheduling my classes around Passions. The Siren storyline was a trip I was laughing on my way to class from that.
  12. Would it make sense to bring her back with Summer on the show? I think Summer needs a connection and Erinsborough needs to be shook up a bit.
  13. I remember watching the show online and following the storylines when Izzy Hoyland was on the show. What did you guys think of her character? I thought she was a fun character.
  14. I think I can safely say that people have forgotten about Ava. LOL!
  15. Fill me in on who are the two lovely ladies?
  16. I started with season 2 on Netflix. I forgot how much I loved it from watching it on Style a few years back. It definatly had a soap opera feel to it. With the cliffhangers at the end of the episode. I think once Darren Starr and some of the tennants from 2-4 left it went downhill.
  17. My litteral first exposure to AMC was in 1990 when Billy Clyde died and Tad got amnesia. Is that clip/storyline on youtube? I know like 15 years ago, I found an old tape that had Billy Clyde kidnapping Dixie (from October 1990.) It involved a phone booth. The tape got taped over :'(
  18. Spauldingfield posted their latest character profile, Mindy Lewis:
  19. Anybody know where americans can see episodes of the Hollyoaks? This show always interested me. A soap with young people on it that actually is successful. That was every american soap opera writer and EP's dream in the 2000's. I love the current opening package. I think it's more creative and put together than the rock version (which i thought was very trashy.)
  20. I am curious about one thing (I apologize if this was discussed before.) I was born 6 years after the show ended and only seen the credits and read about the show on wikipedia. Was the prison rape storyline that happened with the character that Christopher Reeve formerly played a first and that's why the fans didn't take the storyline well? Or was it so horribly written/acted that it wasn't believable. I ask because Michael's prison rape story on GH seemed to be met with a nonchalant response about the content (unless i am missing something) and good acting overall by the people involved.
  21. I had one tape with the last segment of loving which was tapped over by my sister years back. It had Rio and Rocky. I want to know how long Rocky/Rena Sofer was on the show and how did she exit? Was it related to her marriage to Rio?
  22. Didn't Susan Marie Snyder change her name when she made an appearance on ATWT in the early 2000's? There might have been a digest article explaining the name change. She still kept the Marie but I don't remember the other two names.
  23. I am pretty sure they are now married. The time between the engagement and the marriage was a sneeze and you miss it. She didn't take his last name professionally (she is still credited on OLTL as Terri Conn.) Though with a last name like Peck, I could see why. It's like having a fat person with the last name of Fit. Also I noticed the show had a huge number of 3 named actresses at one point. Kelley Menigan Hensely, Colleen Zenk Pinter, Alyson Rice Taylor I know there were others. But I remember looking at the cast list and there were a bunch of 3 named actresses.
  24. I gotta say that 1995 Christmas had some awkward moments. Roger inviting Hart over with Dinah there and Hart coming over to give Peter a present. Actually both awkward moments had to do with Hart. But I loved the clips of Bert/Charita Bauer and Ed looking at them about to tear up and Michelle saying "I love you, Dad" afterwards. I might be wrong for saying this but the part where Josh is saying "WALK DAMMIT" makes me laugh. I know you are suppose to feel his frustration but that came off as hammy more than anything. But after that with Bert talking to him was so touching.
  25. I remember Soap Opera Digest listing that in a top 10 about strangest deaths on soaps.
