This is a nice scene between Sophia (in disguise) and Kelly, especially the brief moment when Sophia mentions Channing and her voice cracks.

There are a lot of these covers on Facebook. Pretty cool that they have a separate issue for English and Afrikaans. The covers from 2011 looked really clustered but the last several issues look sleek. Much more appealing than soap rags in the US

Another Life
What I had a problem with in that scene was what everyone had to say about Peter's reaction. They treated him like he was a child, but I thought his reaction itself was natural, not so much the dialogue. Is Jeff the one who did the hit-and-run? Something about Terry's mother grates me. I feel like I'm supposed to like her but I don't. I think I could like her more depending on what the show has her do. The highlight so far was in episode 7, when Jeff? and Lori's roommate were in the waiting room and Terry says something like "you are the two who can benefit my daughter the most."

Another Life
Thanks. I wish they'd started from the very beginning. I thought it was strange that the man giving a prelude to the story. And I also like how Peter and Lori questioned their beliefs. It seems like AL is trying to show that some people struggle with faith. I liked when the parents said that it's easy to be spiritual when things are going good, but the test is when times are hard. I don't know whether that's a common thing that is said, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless. At this point, I want the show to branch out and weave in new characters and stories, but things take awhile in the beginning.

Another Life
I've always been interested in seeing Another Life. Now that somebody has uploaded early episodes to Youtube, I've started watching. I've seen the first five eps so far. What was it about the early months that didn't work? So far, I'm not hooked but I'm not driven away either. It has potential and surprisingly good production value. I also love the opening. It's like a short version of Sunset Beach's first theme. Around when did the show start getting "good"? I also think it's fascinating that Roy Windsor helped create it in 1981 when the last soap he created was in 1954 I think. Imagine Agnes making a new soap today

I think she's always been really underrated. I thought she did amazing in all her scenes with Blair, especially when he was in jail. I know a lot of people really liked her work in the DBL storyline. I've watched this scene in particular many times. You can tell she really understood the character. It always baffles me that she was only nominated for an Emmy once.. http://youtu.be/6ZMLm8SRJZE Enabling disabled

It says on Richard Steinmetz's IMDB that he played Jeff Hartman on a few episodes of Egoli: Place of Gold. Could there have been an international crossover?? Sry if this has been mentioned

I would have really liked to see that full story. I used to watch the marathon every Sunday but I got frustrated whenever it would jump to some other point in time. I remember being excited because Cherel was about to announce something on her talk show that would sabotage Barker. Then the next episode was something completely different so I never got to see the rest. Cherel is a hilariously wicked character, like Dorian but without as many layers. I think one of the first stories was Cherel killing Barker's son, Duncan. I would have loved to see that.

I would have liked to see more of Farrow. The storyline where Agnes's husband wanted a second wife was hard to watch but I thought it was compelling. Alec's torture was very gruesome. I was shocked that they threatened to rape that man's daughter if he didn't give up the code. I guess they push the limit in South Africa. Too bad the Africa Channel loops episodes because I'd love to see newer eps. Youtube barely has anything.

I've only seen episodes that have been shown on the Africa Channel but I'm always impressed by stories and some of the acting too. I think Leone was a wonderful character.

It seems like most of the sets were destroyed. I think the miniseries is only temporary.. I hope they can regroup and restore the show.

A lot of people don't care for Ava Lazar as Santana but she completely embodied the character for me. I bought her as the seductive daughter of the maid who had the Capwell men wrapped around her finger. I love this scene of her and Mason. There is a sense of honesty and anguish in it. I wish she had stayed longer. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rYp6SoIoNd0#t=479" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/p-DKJBzf85I#t=64" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>- Loving/The City Discussion Thread
I don't think these have been posted. I just discovered this channel with good promos like Tina disguised as a nun on OLTL. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PJPmrjjqCtc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EJaf7q4rwoE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-X0zIJKYmHc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Sh4JtTUBcZA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>- Shortland Street
I was just watching an episode on Youtube where Haley makes it look like Phoenix attacked her in the hospital. It seems a little more daring and suspenseful than the British soaps but I admit I haven't really checked those out enough. I like Rachel because she seems like a complex character who has interesting interactions. Also, at the end, there was a promo for the next episode in the credits. I know it's a small detail but it looked much sleeker than the weekly promos for US soaps. I love how the ratings are still pretty strong after 20 years. The show makes me kinda want to move to New Zealand. - Santa Barbara Discussion Thread
