He did it a couple of times, though I can't remember why, lol.  And he sang too, of course.  Something from Pagliacci, I think. 

Laura didn't hate Julie, she was just doing all kinds of crazy things, like putting toddler Jennifer on a bus by herself.  She was having visions of her dead mother talking to her too.

It's crazy to think such a legendary character like Julie only had one child and it was by David who was on the show for a year before SSH even took over lol.

I think she was bitter about her parents’ divorce.

He thought David was too old for Julie.  She was still in high school when they first started dating.  And I think David had been in some kind of trouble earlier (as had Julie, of course, lol).

I'm sure he had plenty of people he loved writing for. Flannery & Trish Clayton were the only ones to move from DOOL to Bell, weren't they? And, only Jamie Lyn Bauer, the reverse trip.

He created a role for SSH on Y&R after she left Days in the 80s, and supposedly she was his first choice to play Stephanie on B&B.   Margaret Mason was on Y&R, and Robert Clary was on both Y&R and B&B.

Julie and David had been a couple before his hook-up with Susan.  Tom made them break up.  That's when David had his drunken hook-up with Susan (I think in his car).  Julie and David had started seeing each other in secret after that (before they learned Susan was pregnant).

This is the scene in which Julie is burned by the fire from Maggie’s stove.  It’s a bit longer than the one included in the conversation between SSH and SR that was posted earlier.

Here’s a clip of Dan’s suicide on The Doctors.  It’s from August 17, 1971.  To make it even darker, he did it on his young son’s birthday.

I remember Susan was always being called "frigid."  That's where I first heard the term, lol.  I think the explanation for the park incident was that she felt guilty for having sex with a stranger, so she started to believe she was raped.  (When she got pregnant by David, that was during a drunken encounter in David's car).  She was going to abort the baby from the encounter in the park, but then was told she had uterine cancer, so this would be her last chance to have a child.  Scott was the man she really loved but he married Julie instead.  I don't think there was any dust-up from DA leaving for GH.  I think I read somewhere that Days had just let her contract expire anyway. 

@victoria foxtonThanks!  I wasn't watching yet, or if I was, I don't remember it.  But these events did lead to my first memories of Days the following year (the baby dying and Susan killing David).  I don't remember any of the Julies before SSH took over.

Re Tom Eplin, I seem to recall that Days tried to get him to play Harrison Lord in that stupid story arc last year with Bonnie's sister-in-law, Calista Flockhart, but he apparently wasn't available for the dates on which they wanted him.

@slick jones Rosemary Garbell also played Bobbie on Painted Dreams; Ronnie Greenman on The Guiding Light; a war orphan on Arnold Grimm's Daughters; various roles on Knickerbocker Playhouse (including Janey in episode titled Janey Comes to Stay); unknown role on Author's Playhouse (episode titled Never in this World); various roles on Theater of the Air; Ruth Baldwin on Bob Becker's Pet Parade; and Mary Jo on Jack and Jill Theater (episode titled Let Me Grow Up).  Tootie's last name on Mary Marlin was Mitchell (apparently was a waif adopted by Bunny Mitchell).

No one thought Sarah was dead so it isn't much of a reveal for Abby to say Gwen knew she was alive, lol.

I can't take Sonny seriously with that mustache.  He makes me think of Zorro.  Just needs the costume, lol.

Ron would throw in some Hogan's Heroes references.  Robert & Bill are still friends after all these years.  They used to have weekly lunches but I guess those stopped the last couple of years.  Bill did recently say he and Susan called Robert to wish him a happy 96th birthday.

Seems like they're heading toward Sarah latching onto Eric next, with her comments today re having a crush on him (never mind that it doesn't make sense with what aired back in the 80s and 90s, since Eric was a toddler when Sarah would have been five, and still a child when she was a teen).

Lisa Trusel and David Wallace interviewed with Darby Hinton (who played Ian Griffith, Melissa's parole officer and the hospital rapist, on Days).  Some 80s flashbacks included in this one. 

Alice also encouraged Julie to marry Scott despite knowing Julie wasn’t in love with him, so she wouldn’t be an unmarried mother.

Thanks @DRW50.  I don’t remember seeing this episode before.  I noticed Elizabeth Harrower is in the credits as an actress.  Don’t think I knew she had appeared on Days before SSH.

So sorry to hear this news.  She was always a favorite.  I remember her all the way back to when Kim was in love with Dan Stewart.  Glad we got to see her one more time on The Locher Room.

I hated Nolaerobics so much.  I didn't like that she and Quint moved out of the Thornway Road house either.
